Welcome to the newest two-week Cardz 4 Guyz challenge, Our host, Dawn, chose Something Sporty as the theme for #316. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the all the projects from the rest of the design team members.
For a few years, I’ve been making cards for a work colleague’s family birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. His father’s birthday is at the beginning of March, and the only request was to use the colors of the Mets baseball team. Therefore, I used Pacific Point and Calypso Coral to create a beachy scene. We’re in Florida, so the beach is definitely something “sporty”. At least that’s my story for this challenge.
Here’s my double z-fold card:
I added the white panel to the back of the card so there’d be enough room to write a note and sign it.
Measurements:
The Pacific Point base measures 11 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches.
Two of the dark DSP (designer series paper) panels measure 2-5/8 by 4-1/8 inches. The third measures 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches.
The Calypso Coral DSP strip measures 11 inches by 1-1/2 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches.
The white panel on the back measures 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches.
The last cut measures 6 by 2-1/2 inches of the Calypso Coral DSP for the envelope flap.
Assembly:
I used multipurpose liquid glue to attach the Pacific Point DSP panels.
Next, I attached the Calypso Coral DSP. Just make sure that the 5-1/2 inch side to the front fold only. The shorter pieces go on the right side of the card. You only want to adhere the short panel to the inside, right side.
I stamped the pier using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Then, I colored the piers using Cajun Craze blends. I colored the pelican using a Basic Grey marker. The final coloring was done using the Basic Black marker to outline the rope. Then, I cropped the piece using the die from the Waves die set. I adhered it using dimensionals.
Next, I cropped two of the waves using the same die set. I used white cardstock for the bottom layer and the Calypso Coral DSP for the top layer. After layering the two pieces, I attached them to the Calypso Coral DSP strip.
I used the sentiment from the stamp set on white cardstock then cropped it using a die from the waves set. I added white ribbon to each of the ends, then attached only the left side to the front fold.
Finally, I stamped the wave in Calypso Coral on the white cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card and envelope set.
Welcome to the Make My Monday challenge #192 for this two weeks. The theme for this challenge is to pick a favorite challenge from 2022. I couldn’t resist using the Adorable Owls stamp set from the current Sale-a-Bration promotion. Therefore, I chose the something with wings challenge from November 22, 2022. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the themes chosen and cards made by the rest of the design team..
Here’s my card:
Yes, this is another twisted easel card. You can see a couple of others I created here.
Once I finished this baby boy card, I really wanted to make a baby girl card. However, I used the Elephants on Parade stamp set instead.
Here’s the baby girl card:
Since the baby boy owl card meets the challenge theme, I’m using the directions for that card.
There are so many videos for creating a twisted easel card. The one I saw a few weeks ago incorporated a book binding side, which I really liked. I can’t for the life of me find the original video I watched, and I am sorry for that problem.
Balmy Blue cardstock base trimmed to 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches.
Score the base along the long side at 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 inches.
Next, score the 4-1/2 by 4-1/4 inch rectangle diagonally as shown in the picture below:
Please note that this is the inside view.
Trim two pieces of DSP to 4-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches. Trim one of the pieces diagonally to use for the back of the standing easel. For this card, this is the two Balmy Blue pattern pieces of DSP (designer series paper).
Trim DSP to 7/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the bookbinding on the front.
Next, trim a piece of white cardstock for the inside to 4-1/8 by 4-3/8 inches.
Finally, trim a piece of DSP for the envelope flap to 6 by 2-1/2 inches.
Assembly:
Adhere the bookbinding piece on the inside of the card. The picture below shows the placement of the adhesive for both the bookbinding part and the white cardstock on the inside.
I wrapped a piece of Old Olive ribbon around the piece of DSP for the bookbinding section on the front of the card.
Adhere the bookbinding piece to the front using dimensionals to allow for the ribbon.
Adhere the triangle piece of DSP to the outside of the card as shown below:
Adhere the whole rectangle of DSP to the bottom triangle on the outside of the card as shown below:
Please note that you only put adhesive on the bottom portion of the triangle. The top half of the DSP should not be adhered.
TA-DAH! You’ve created a twisted easel fun fold card. This card will fit in a medium SU! envelope.
The Owls:
Stamp the sentiment for the front and inside of the card. The sentiments comes from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set.
Crop the sentiments. For the front, I used one of the square dies from the Stylish Shapes die set. I also cropped a small banner from silver foil to layer under the sentiment. I stamped the inside sentiment in the corner in Night of Navy directly on the white cardstock.
The sentiment placed diagonally was also stamped in Night of Navy and cropped using a rectangle die.
Please note that the angle of the standing easel will depend on the placement of your inside sentiment.
Add dimensionals on the reverse of the front and inside sentiments, especially needed for the inside sentiment.
I used my clear Wink of Stella pen to outline each of the cropped sentiments.
Then, I stamped the owls using Night of Navy ink. The bowtie is colored with the dark Night of Navy blend. I used a white gel pen to outline the bowtie.
I used the light Balmy Blue blend to color the eyes.
The cropped white oval comes from the Framed Florets die set.
While I had the florets dies out, I cropped two sprays from DSP and a third one from silver foil.
Next, I colored and cropped the butterfly and balloon using the Elephants on Parade bundle.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the oval and sprays.
Then, I used dimensionals to adhere the owls, butterfly, balloon, and front sentiment.
Finally, I added blue gems to the front and the inside sentiment.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated twisted easel card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Have a Peachy day! Sue

Welcome to the November SU! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop. I am so happy that I am able to participate in this Fun Fold Blog Hop with these wonderful and talented demos. At the end of this post, I hope you will hop along with all of us using the line-up at the bottom.
Here’s my fun-fold card:
If this fold looks familiar, I made one for the November InKing Royalty Blog Hop. You can see that card here. I’m so happy that I found this card while searching Pinterest for a new to me fun fold earlier this month. Beth McCullough at Stamping Mom posted an awesome tutorial that you can see here. She posted templates, and then I made my own so I can keep them in my little journal of stamping.
Here are my templates:
What I Did:
The Merry Merlot cardstock back base measures 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches.
The second pieces of cardstock measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches. For scoring, you can do it one of two ways. First, score this piece at 2, 3-3/4, 7-1/4 and 9 inches. OR, you can score at 2 and 3-3/4 inches, then flip the paper 180 degrees and score at 2 and 3-3/4 inches on the opposite end.
Following another Stampin’ Pal from Mary Fish’s Stampin’ Pretty demo group, I have challenged myself to use all of the retired Beauty of the Earth DSP I still have. I used this beautiful pattern for the very front measures 3-3/4 by 4-1/8 inches. The second piece measures 1-3/4 by 4 inches.
.The two outside pieces of the same DSP pattern each measure 7/8 by 4-1/8 inches. The piece for the very inside of the card comes from retired Merry Merlot 6 x 6 inch DSP and measures 3-1/4 by 4 inches.
While I had the Beauty of the Earth DSP handy, I punched a 1-inch circle for the envelope seal. Then, I ran it through my XYRON to create a sticker.
I trimmed a piece of the Merry Merlot 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
I used scrap pieces of from the same Neutrals pack of retired 6 x 6 inch DSP for the leaves and branches on the front and the white cropped piece the inside sentiment.
I simply wrapped a piece of the faux suede ribbon around the front DSP piece. I adhered it in the back using two pieces of tear-n-tape..
Finally, I stamped the front sentiment in Soft Suede. Then, I cropped it using the banner die from the Stylish Dies set. Next, I used my Merry Merlot marker to outline the banner. I did put dimensionals under the banner to pop it up a bit.
HINT: Since the banner is thin, it was hard to get the banner to lay flat. In order to help the sentiment banner lay flat, I added three glue dots under the ribbon. That seems to have helped.
The sentiment on the inside comes from the Fond of Autumn stamp set. I used Early Espresso ink for this sentiment. Then, I cropped it using one of the deckled rectangle dies.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Back to the SU! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop:
When you finish here, I hope you will hop along to the other demos’ sites. I know I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone else created. As soon as my card goes live, I am going to add it to the gallery for the Creative Creases Challenge. I can’t wait to see what you create and add to the challenge as well.
Take a look at this wonderful new kit, which became available on November 15, 2022:
One of the things I really like about this kit is that the cards have a more masculine feel to them. It’s on my next order so I can add these cards to the organizers I am making for Christmas presents for my mom and also my aunt.
If you’re not convinced using a kit is for you, check out this unboxing video:
This kit is a winner!
If you live in the U.S. and don’t already have a demonstrator, I’d be honored to work with you.

Welcome to the latest Make My Monday two-week challenge. Our host for # 183, Debbie, chose “friend”ship. When you are finished here, I hope you will join us at the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team members created. I love that there’s always so many wonderful creations from which inspiration can be drawn. I hope you find something to spark an idea, and that you feel compelled to play along.
For my card, I chose the adorable Elephants on Parade bundle. I combined it with Happy Forest Friends DSP (designer series paper). I knew I wanted to make a double Z-fold card, I just had a difficult time figuring out the measurements for what I wanted to accomplish and wound up doing the card twice. It’s all good though because even the OOPS card is adorable and I’m going to take it to work and just leave it on the bookcase behind my desk.
Here’s my final card:
Since this is a fun fold, I will be entering it in the current Creative Creases challenge. I love fun folds, and this challenge theme is always anything goes with a fun fold. I have to make more fun folds so I can join this fun challenge more often! Check it out if you love creating fun fold cards!
Measurements:
The Old Olive base measures 5-1/2 by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 and 2-3/4 inches.
The Calypso Coral cardstock measures 8 x 4-3/4 inches, scored at 3-3/4 and 5-7/8 inches.
The So Saffron DSP 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches.
Both the Old Olive DSP and the leaves pattern DSP on the inside measure 2 by 5-3/8 inches. I also trimmed a piece of the leaves DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Then, I punched a 1 inch circle from coordinating DSP for the envelope seal.
The tree DSP on the front measures 4-5/8 by 4-1/2 inches. I only needed half the width for the back panel of trees, so it measures 2 by 4-5/8 inches.
Finally, the blank white cardstock also measures 2 by 4-5/8 inches. I left it blank so I can decide on the inside sentiment when I’m ready to use the card. I temporarily attached it with repositionable tape so I can remove it when I need to stamp the sentiment.
All the DSP panels were adhered with my favorite adhesive, the multipurpose liquid adhesive. Before adhering the front trees DSP, I wrapped a piece of Old Olive ribbon around it and tied it in a square knot. This way, the elephants and sentiment don’t just float on the front of the card. The ribbon grounds everything.
Stamping, Coloring, and Cropping:
Since I used the blends for the vast majority of the coloring, I stamped all the elephant elements using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
Then, I used the light Petal Pink blend, dark and light Smoky Slate blends, and the light Basic Black blend for the elephants.
I used the Calypso Coral and So Saffron Stamping Write Markers. The black marker filled in the body of the butterflies.
Finally, I used the Crumb Cake blends to color the peanut.
I cropped the sentiment using one of the Stylish Shapes dies.
Everything else was cropped using the elephant dies. I decided to use some scraps of 6 x6 inch DSP to crop the balloons. Since I adhered them onto the stamped balloons, I just needed to trim off the excess . I really don’t think I could have colored the balloons half as cute as they turned out by using the DSP.
I used dimensionals for everything on the front panel of the card.
Since I didn’t want to add any more thickness to the card, I adhered everything on the back panel using multipurpose liquid glue.
With that, I’d finished this second coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

I just absolutely love the Ladybug Wishes stamp set and punch and am going to be very sad when it retires at the end of June. However, this is a set that will have a home in my “blue room” (aka studio) for a long time.
When you finish here, I hope you will follow the Pals’ Fun Fold Blog Hop information at the bottom of my post!
Here’s my quick ladybug fun fold card:
Measurements:
I’ve seen this fun fold quite a bit on Pinterest and thought that I needed to just figure out the math and make one of my own. Trust me, if you can score paper, you CAN do this!
The Real Red base measures 8-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches. Then, I scored the card at 1-3/8 inches and 2-1/8 inches. I rotated the cardstock 180 degrees and repeated the score lines. They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so here’s a picture of my score lines:
The measurements on the right are purposely upside down because that’s how I rotated the cardstock 180 degrees.
The black cardstock on the front measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
All the DSP (designer series paper) I used comes from the Pattern Party host DSP set. This DSP will retire with the 2021 – 2022 annual catalog, so if you want this fabulous 48 sheet set, time is running out! I also trimmed a piece to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
The striped DSP on the front measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed the white cardstock on the reverse side of the card to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
If you want to decorate both sides of the folded parts you will need to make the following cuts: 4 panels trimmed to 4-1/8 inches by 1-1/4 inches and 2 panels trimmed to 4-1/8 inches by 5/8 inch.
That’s it for the trimming!
What I Did:
I’ve already posted a ladybug card using this same color scheme, and you can see that card here. I used vellum under each ladybug in that card, and wanted to do something similar for this card. Therefore, I stamped the large leaf from the stamp set using my VersaMark ink pad on the vellum cardstock. Next, I covered each with white embossing powder and heat set them. Finally, I fussy cut the leaves. I’m pleased with the results.
Then, I stamped the Real Red wings on white cardstock. The black dots are super easy to add using the dots only stamp set. After that, I punched out two black ladybug bodies and both wings. I used multipurpose liquid glue to attach the wings to the ladybug body and added dimensionals to the underside of the ladybugs.
These darling googly eyes came from Amazon. When I originally ordered them, I needed 6 googly eyes. Of course, I ordered a larger set than just the 6 or so. I ordered a set of 1,200 eyes in varying sizes. It comes in it’s own organizer and the eyes are self-adhesive. What more could anyone possibly want for googly eyes?! You can find the same set I used here.
Since I didn’t need to worry about adhesive showing through the vellum, I was able to use multipurpose liquid glue to adhere them to the DSP.
I used the scalloped die from the scalloped contours for the top panel. I trimmed it to 4-1/8 inches wide.
Before I adhered the scalloped panel to the DSP, I wrapped the end of my Real Red ribbon (from the Playful Pets ribbon set) around the scalloped panel and tied it in a bow. I used glue dots to adhere the bow to the scalloped panel. Since the ribbon is so thin, I was able to use liquid glue to attach it to the DSP.
I added matte black dots to each of the visible scallops.
The HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment comes from the Party Puffins stamp set.
I stamped a sentiment from the Ladybug Wishes stamp set and another ladybug on the white cardstock for the back. This ladybug is a two-stamp process. First, the ladybug is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink. Second, the Real Red insert gets stamped directly on top of the first stamp. Since the set is photopolymer, lining everything up is a snap.
I stamped the same ladybug on the front of the envelope and trimmed the DSP on the flap. Finally, I punched a 1 inch circle for the envelope seal. With that, I’d finished this coordinated, card, envelope, and seal set.

Welcome to Make My Monday # 162! Dawn is hosting this bi-weekly challenge and has chosen the theme of Cute Christmas. When you are done here, I hope you will hop over to the blog and check out all the inspiration from the design team!
Here’s my fun fold card:
Basically, this is a smaller tent fold card inside a bottom flap card. I spent a bit of time on Pinterest looking for an easy fun fold card. when I found this one from Mary Deatherage at Stamps-n-Lingers. I followed all her directions for sizes and folds.
What I Did:
Mary’s videos are always filled with tips and this one is no exception because she shows how to make the beautiful hydrangea she used on the front.
For mine, all the DSP, with the exception of the Bumblebee 6×6 inch DSP on the front, comes from the Sweet Stockings 12 x 12 DSP (designer series paper). My favorite pattern from this pack has to be the Christmas lights pattern.
I cropped the golden retriever using the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes die set.
The sentiments both come from the Greatest Part of Christmas host set from last year. However, any fun sentiment you have would definitely work. For some strange and unknown reason, I didn’t get this whole suite, but I should’ve done so. I stamped both the front and inside sentiments in Cherry Cobbler.
I used a label die from the Painted Labels set to crop the front sentiment. It fit perfectly inside the label die and I thought it added a bit of fun.
The suite also contains a Pool Party striped grosgrain ribbon that I did purchase and wanted to use! I searched for the roll of ribbon and couldn’t find it so I went with the sheer Pool Party ribbon. Of course-, I found the roll of the striped ribbon as soon as I posted this card to the blog design team site. Of course that means I need to create a card with the grosgrain ribbon ASAP.
A Second Card:
Actually, as soon as I typed that last sentence I thought I should just make the card. So, in the middle of getting this post together, I stopped and made a tent card.
Here’s the tent card:
I used the same DSP patterns, and sentiments inside and out. The biggest difference is that I used the ribbon that is a part of this suite. I could’ve easily completed this card in 15 minutes if I didn’t have so much trouble with the ribbon. It took me longer to tie a decent bow than it did to put everything else together..
After I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flaps, and punched/XYRON-ed two DSP circles for seals, I’d finished this two card set of coordinated cards/envelopes/and seals.
