This month, the theme is “All Creatures Great and Small.” We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I used the By Your Side kit for my cards for this hop. I made the first one following the kit directions. I used the same adorable pup for the second fun fold card as an alternative. We had a schnauzer, Brandy, when I was growing up and this cutie looks like him.
Here are my cards:
I’ve made a number of joy fold cards recently, and I used Rachel Tessman’s directions and video. You can see on of the alternate cat card from this kit here. Some of my previous joy fold cards can be found here and here. Here’s another look at one of my joy fold cards:
This Thoughtful Journey DSP (designer series paper) is just gorgeous with this joy fold! As always with fun fold cards, I will be entering this into the current Creative Creases Challenge.
Measurements:
I’ve had to adjust my measurements slightly to allow for the schnauzer on the front of my card. However, please, please, please use Rachel’s printable and video while creating this card.
HINT: When creating a card by following the directions on a video, I always watch the video first, and then make decisions about the supplies I will need. I get my stamping done and am then ready to start. This way, I can follow along with the video to make all my cuts and score lines, and assemble the card.
Stamping, Dry Embossing, & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together, especially since this card already has a number of layers
I used a Blackberry Bliss base for this card
The center panel on the front flap is also Blackberry Bliss, which I embossed using the exposed brick embossing folder
All the stamps and the acrylic block come with the By Your Side kit
The white banner comes with the kit, and I trimmed off the black polka dot bottom and outlined the banner using a Blackberry Bliss marker
I stamped both sentiments using Blackberry Bliss ink as well as the bones on the inside and envelope flap
I used Wild Wheat to stamp all the paws
The gold heart comes with the kit
I did add dimensionals under the schnauzer to adhere him to the front of the card
Finally, I punched a 1-inch circle from a leftover piece of the embossed Blackberry Bliss cardstock and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker
With that, I’d finished this adorable coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
Back to the Pals’ Blog Hop:
There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. We hope you will come back for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be “Orange Theory.”
I’m always excited for the mini catty releases because of the holiday products.
Since I am on the design team for a sister challenge, the monthly Sparkles Christmas Challenge, I already have some of the cards I will need. However, I heard new holiday products calling my name and couldn’t resist!
While you can click on the link above, here’s a listing of the new products as well. Please click on the individual pictures to see the products in a larger size picture.
If you live in the U.S. and don’t already have a Stampin’ UP! demo from whom you order, I would be honored to work with you.

Here’s my Nautical card:
As always, since this is a fun fold, I will be uploading it to the gallery in the Creative Creases Challenge.
Sometimes we all need a little bit, or a lot, of inspiration. When that happens, I turn to Pinterest, as I am sure so many of you do. I found Carole’s Creative Corner and the directions for this double z-fold card and CASe’d (copy and share, everything/edit it using DSP (designer series paper) and the Sailing Home stamp set with the coordinated Sailing Away die set:
Carole used the long retired DSP that accompanied the retired bundle. I used some retired Gone Fishing DSP because I love the colors and patterns.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches
Trim another piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 3 by 10 inches, scored at 2-1/2 and 5 inches
The front DSP measures 2-5/8 by 4-1/8 inches
Trim a piece of the same DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
The Crumb Cake DSP measures 4-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches
Punch a 1-inch circle from the Crumb Cake DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope sea
You need a piece of white cardstock trimmed to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside background
The two squares of white cardstock for the smaller piece of Night of Navy measure 2-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches
I did have scraps for the lighthouse, sentiment label, and the ship wheel
Stamping & Assembly:
I only used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together because the card is already a little bulky and I didn’t want to need extra postage
Stamp the lighthouse using Night of Navy ink on white cardstock
Stamp the boat and the birds using Night of Navy on one of the squares of white cardstock
Stamp the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set on white cardstock with Night of Navy ink
Crop the lighthouse, ship’s wheel, and the sentiment label using dies from the Sailing Away die set
Punch a 2-1/2 inch circle from Night of Navy cardstock
Adhere your pieces together, starting with the DSP and white cardstock on the base.
Adhere the pieces to the smaller z-fold piece of Night of Navy cardstock, then adhere to your card base
I had some Crumb Cake/Navy baker’s twine but it was too thick for what I wanted so I pulled 3 pieces of the twine out and used what was left on the ship’s wheel
Adhere the baker’s twine using a mini-glue dot
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
I’ve been using the By Your Side kit to create a number of cards. You can see one of the cards here, and there will be more coming on September 11, 2024 for the Pals’ Blog Hop.
Here’s the unboxing video for the absolutely adorable By Your Side kit:
If you live in the U.S. and don’t already have a Stampin’ UP! demo from whom you order, I would be honored to work with you.

Welcome to my three-fer card! I was able to combine three challenges using this one card. I hope that my card inspires you to play along with one, two, or three of these challenges! I love playing along with card challenges! However, since I am on four design teams and participate in blog hops, I spent the month of July trying to get as far ahead as possible. Therefore, I am tickled (Flirty Flamingo) pink to be able to play along with these three.
First, here’s my card:
Second, here are the banners and links (click on the image) for the challenges:
I turned this sketch to a horizontal orientation for my card, which is totally acceptable.
Measurements:
The Old Olive base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-2/2 inches
I used a piece of the Pecan Pie retired Gorgeous Gingham DSP (designer series paper) for the front of the card and each piece measures 4-1/8 by 2-5/8 inches
Trim a piece of the same DSP to 3/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the inside stop piece
Next, trim a piece of Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
Punch a 1-inch circle from the remaining gingham DSP for the envelope seal and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside of the card
I cropped the two circles on the front from the middle of an Old Olive and Pecan Pie cardstock, which will allow me to use each piece for a mat on another card
The label and playful kitten on the front, the sentiments, and fish stamp all come from the By Your Side kit
Take a look at this absolutely stinking adorable kit available now:
It was unorderable for quite a bit of time. As popular as this kit is, I’d suggest getting it ASAP to make sure you can use it as it comes, or to create alternate cards like I did.
Stamping & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
I used a black Stampin’ Write marker to outline the two deckled circle pieces on the front because I wanted them to pop off the card front
Stamp the sentiments using Old Olive ink
Stamp the fist using Pecan Pie ink
Adhere the DSP pieces to the front of the card and the white cardstock to the inside
Adhere the two deckled circles together
After dry-fitting your playful kitten and the sentiment, add dimensionals to the back of each to adhere them to the circles
Making sure to only add liquid glue to the bottom half of the Pecan Pie circle, adhere to the front of the card
Add dimensionals to the gingham strip of DSP and adhere to the inside of the card about 1 inch from the top of the white cardstock
Finally, I added a speckled epoxy dot to the sentiment banner on the front
With that, I’d finished this very quick By Your Side card kit alternate card, envelope, and envelope seal
Welcome to the August, 2024 SU! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop! Each month, a group of demos share fun fold cards for a blog hop. I always learn something new and thoroughly enjoy seeing the creations of the other demos. We hope that you will use the line-up below to hop along with us.
Here’s my Thoughtful Journey Joy Fold card:
As always with this Hop, I will be entering my card to the Creative Creases Challenge gallery. If you enjoy fun folds as much as we do, you really need to join this bi-weekly challenge, which was founded and organized by the leader of this Hop, Debbie Mageed with Secret Stamper.
Last year I found this card fold around Thanksgiving and wound up making so many Christmas cards using this video from Rachel Tessman. Once you make a couple of them, it’s just so easy to keep right on going.. Just this past week I made three using the Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 inch DSP and they are beautiful, even if I do say so myself. The DSP does all the work. It’s a gorgeous layout and makes a big impact. Here’s her video:
Rachel’s blog post for this card also has a printable tutorial. I can pretty much guarantee you can follow along with her video and just start creating stunning cards with cardstock and some 6 x 6 inch DSP! You can see some of the cards I made here and here.
For the inside of my card, I used blending brushes and Petunia Pop, Wild Wheat, and Calypso Coral ink to lightly surround the sentiment with color. I just didn’t want plain white cardstock on the inside, so I used the DSP as inspiration. I hope I’ve done it justice.

This month our theme is Summer Vacation. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I really had to think outside of the box for this month’s card. I was very sick, which kept me sidelined for most of my summer break as I recovered. Therefore, trying to come up with a card for my summer vacation took some serious thinking. When I finally was able to focus, I started reading. A lot! The only way I was able to create cards was by using the templates on page 22 of the SU! annual catalog. As a result, my card is a book fold card with a layout from one of the templates.
Here’s my summer vacation fun fold card:
Here’s a picture of the templates from page 22:
You can see a sample of the cards I made using these templates here, here, and here.
Of course, since this is a fun fold, I will be posting it on the Creative Creases Challenge. This challenge is always Anything Goes with a Fun Fold. If you like fun folds as much as me, this biweekly challenge is for you!
Measurements:
I used Copper Clay for the base, Trim it to 11 by 4-1/4 inches. Score it at 4-1/2 and 5-1/2 inches to create the book fold
You need two pieces of Boho Blue for the mats. The first piece measures 4-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches. The second piece measures 4-1/8 by 7/8 inches.
You also need two pieces of the Take to the Sky DSP (designer series paper). The first measures 4-1/8 by 3-1/4 inches. The second measures 4 by 3/4 inches.
Trim a coordinating piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches.
Punch a 1-inch circle and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal.
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 4 inches for the inside panel of the card.
I used scraps for the sentiment banner and the layers.
I stamped the clouds in the center of the Boho Blue layer and then cropped them out. No one will see the ugly cutouts once the DSP is adhered.
Stamping, Cropping, & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted,, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together.
Adhere the Boho Blue cardstock to the base of the card.
Then, adhere the Take to the Sky DSP pieces to the Boho Blue cardstock.
Trim the largest cloud formation so that a 3/4 inch piece will fit on the thin piece of DSP.
Add dimensionals to both pieces of the clouds and adhere to the DSP.
Stamp your sentiment from the Adventurous Sky stamp set in Night of Navy ink.
Trim the sentiment panel and two additional pieces of DSP.
Adhere the layers together and add dimensionals under the bottom piece to adhere to the DSP on the front.
Add dimensionals to the middle sized cloud and adhere under the sentiment.
Adhere the smallest cloud formation under the sentiment banners.
Stamp some clouds on the outside of the white cardstock for the inside panel.
Stamp another sentiment from the Adventurous Sky set in Night of Navy and adhere to the base of the card.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Back to the Pals’ Blog Hop:
There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team’s blogs. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop in September when our them with be All Creatures Great & Small.
Welcome to the July, 2024 SU! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop! Each month, a group of demos share fun fold cards for a blog hop. I always learn something new and thoroughly enjoy seeing the creations of the other demos. We hope that you will use the line-up below to hop along with us.
The inspiration, and directions for my card comes from Susie Wood from Stamp with Susie, Click here to get to her Pinterest post. I’ve already made this card twice and have the third one cut and ready to assemble. If you can score cardstock, you can totally do this impressive fun fold, which will fit in a medium SU! envelope.
Since I am hand-delivering this card, I don’t have to worry about additional postage.
I have a notebook in which I keep templates for fun fold cards. It makes it so much easier to recreate fun folds if I have all the measurements in one place. Here’s my template and measurements for this card:
PLEASE NOTE: I MADE A MISTAKE ON THE LAST SCORE LINE ON THE TEMPLATE. YOU NEED TO SCORE AT 9-5/16 INCHES. I REALIZED MY MISTAKE TODAY WHEN I MADE ANOTHER LATCH FOLD CARD.
I used the Mediterranean Blooms suite of products for this card. The colors are spectacularly bright and sunny. It’s the first suite I ordered from the 2024-2025 annual catalog and I absolutely love it.
Take a look at all this fabulous-ness:
Cropping:
Using the Citrus Blooms die set, crop a Night of Navy and a two Basic White frames
Using both the frame and the large leaf, crop two Daffodil Delight leaf frames
HINT: You need to line up the frame and the leaf dies to get just the inside leaf section. If you don’t use the frame, you will just get the leaves in your paper. Trying to get the frame and the leaf dies lined up is not fun, believe me.
Use the Countryside Corners die set to crop two Night of Navy pieces for the front. You will adhere these together for more stability to hold the latch fold.
Using a smaller Countryside Corner die, crop two Basic White pieces, and adhere them together
Using another Countryside Corners die, crop a Night of Navy piece for the inside sentiment
Crop six leaf sprays from Garden Green cardstock
Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I adhered all pieces with multipurpose liquid glue
Adhere the extra piece of Night of Navy cardstock to the front flap of the base
Next, adhere the DSP to the front and the flap of the base
Adhere one set of Daffodil Delight leaves to the Night of Navy frame and adhere to the front of the cqrd
Then adhere the other set of leaves to the Basic White frame and adhere it to the inside of the card
Adhere the last Basic White frame to the back of the base, which will give you space to write your note
Stamp the outside sentiment on the white Cropped Countryside Corner layers using Night of Navy ink and adhere to the Night of Navy cropped layers
Add dimensionals to the left two-thirds of the Night of Navy cropped layers
HINT: Before removing the adhesive covers of the dimensionals, dry fit it on the front flap of the card to make sure your latch fold will fit under the sentiment panels
The inside sentiment is actually one long stamp, which I stamped in Night of Navy then trimmed so it would fit on the cropped Countryside Corners piece
Finally, adhere the Garden Green leaf sprays
With that, I’d finished this coordinated fun fold card, envelope, and envelope seal
I hope you will try this card. I add so many more layers than necessary to make this card. The next one I am making will be more clean and simple, so I will update this post with the link to that card when I post it.
