Welcome to the newest Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #357! Dawn is hosting this two-week challenge and she chose Wheels for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
At first, I thought I didn’t have anything for the theme. I decided on a card with ship wheels, Then I realized I did have DSP for a wheels theme, but by then I had settled on the ship wheels and decided to use a fun fold.
Here’s my ship wheels card:
If you look carefully at the first picture, you can just barely see the inside panels of the flaps, to which I added a piece of Basic Gray cardstock for a handwritten message.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 1-5/8 & 3-1/4 from each of the long ends
There are 4 pieces of Basic Beige card stock measuring 1-1/2 by 5-3/8 inches
Trim another piece of Basic Beige to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
I stamped the sentiment and cropped it from the center of this Basic Beige piece of cardstock since no one will see the ugly underneath the pattern #2 DSP
Trim 2 pieces of DSP (designer series paper) pattern #1 to 1-3/8 by 5-1/4 inches
Trim one piece of DSP pattern #2 to 4 by 5-1/4 inches
You also need a piece of coordinating DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
Punch a 1-inch circle for the envelope seal and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker
Stamping, Cropping, & Assembly:
I used the retired Smooth Sailing stamp set and coordinating die set
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the pieces together because the card is already bulky and would need extra postage
The only place I used mini-dimensionals was on the backs of the two wheels with bakers’ twine
I needed to cut the mini-dimensionals into three pieces each.
Crop 6 ship wheels from Night of Navy cardstock
Add baker’s twine to two of the little holes in the center of two ship wheels
HINT: The only way I could’ve accomplished was to use a floss threader. To do this, slide a length of baker’s twine through the threader loop and very, very gently pull the threader and baker’s twine through the hole. Once you get the baker’s twine through the hole, you can tie a knot on one end of the twine.
Here’s the threader I used, which I purchased on Amazon:
WLLHYF 100 Pcs Floss Threaders Multifunctional Deep Clean Floss for Braces, Bridges, and Implants Dental Threader (Blue)
Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink on Basic Gray cardstock and crop the sentiment
Adhere the DSP pattern #1 to two pieces of the Basic Gray cardstock
Adhere the cardstock and DSP combo to the front outside flaps of the card
Adhere the remaining two pieces of Basic Gray cardstock to the inside flaps
Adhere the DSP pattern #2 to the 4 by 5-1/4 inch piece of Basic Gray cardstock
Stamp the lighthouse on Basic Gray cardstock using Night of Navy ink, then crop it out
Stamp the trio of birds randomly on the DSP pattern #2
HINT: I needed to cover a tiny spot of Night of Navy ink, so I added a third partial trio of birds
Adhere the sentiment to the DSP pattern #2 making sure that it is covered by the flaps when closed
Add the wheels to the front flaps, three on each side
HINT: I added the bakers’ twine wheels to the bottom of the front flaps, but I would do it in the middle for a more secure bow
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
Welcome to the September, 2024 SU! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop! Each month, a group of demos share fun fold cards for a blog hop. I always learn something new and thoroughly enjoy seeing the creations of the other demos. We hope that you will use the line-up below to hop along with us.
Here’s my Mediterranean Blooms Suite z-fold card:
As always with fun folds, I will be uploading this to the Creative Creases Challenge. You can see my other Mediterranean Blooms fun fold card here.
Measurements:
The basic card is a z-fold card so the base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches
The Citrus Blooms DSP for the front flap measures 2 by 4-1/8 inches
Trim another piece of the same DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
Then, punch a 1-inch circle of coordinating DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
Trim two pieces of Old Olive and one piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
You will need a piece of the Citrus Blooms DSP to crop the front swag of oranges
Don’t you just LOVE when the coordinating dies work with the DSP?
Cropping, Stamping, & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together, especially since this card will already be bulky
After stamping the sentiment from the Citrus Blooms stamp set in black ink, crop it using the smallest circle die
Emboss the Daffodil Delight and one of the Old Olive cardstock pieces using the exposed brick embossing folder
Center and then crop the large outline die on the embossed Old Olive cardstock
Do the same with the embossed Daffodil Delight cardstock
Using the large outline die and the inside leafy die, crop both on the remaining Old Olive cardstock
Crop the large orange and leafy piece of DSP using the coordinating die
Stamp the single orange and leaves using Daffodil Delight ink in the center of the white cardstock
Stamp the sentiment in the center of the white cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink
Adhere the embossed and cropped Old Olive cardstock to the white cardstock, then adhere those pieces to the inside of the card
Adhere the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive leafy cropped pieces together
Add the large orange and leafy cropped DSP to the center of the Daffodil Delight/Old Olive front
Adhere the DSP to the front flap of the card
Center the cropped front so that it will line up with the cropped inside of the card
Adhere the cropped front to front flap of the card
HINT: It is very important that you only adhere the left of the front of the cropped piece to the front flap.
Add the coordinating Daffodil Delight opal rounds to the centers of the orange blooms
I adhered a piece of the retired faux suede ribbon under the circle sentiment using tear & tape, mainly because I wanted something minor to pick up the Early Expresso branches
Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment circle and adhere
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set

Welcome to the newest Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #356! Juile is hosting this two-week challenge and she chose Wet or Dry Embossing for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
The Cajun Craze base measures 11 by 4-1/4, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches
AFTER you dry emboss another piece of Cajun Craze, trim it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
HINT: If you trim a piece of cardstock to your desired size before embossing it, especially with a 3D folder, you will wind up with a too small piece of cardstock
The Thoughtful Journeys DSP (designer series paper) cropped with a deckled rectangles die measures
The white cardstock mat, also cropped with a deckled rectangles die measures
I used a scrap of Cajun Craze cardstock for the sentiment on the front
For the inside, crop a piece of white cardstock using the largest deckled rectangle die
Trim a coordinating piece of DSP to 1/2 by 5-1/2 inches for the easel stop, then crop the sides using the largest deckled rectangle die
You will also need a 2-1/2 by 6 inch coordinating DSP for the envelope flap
Punch a 1-inch circle of contrasting DSP for the envelope seal, and run it through the XYRON create-a-sticker
Stamping, Outlining, & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces of this card together
After cropping the two white cardstock pieces, I outlined them with a Calypso Coral marker
I did the same to the DSP piece using a Cajun Craze marker
Adhere the DSP to the white cardstock, then adhere the layers to the left side of the dry embossed Cajun Craze cardstock
Add liquid glue to the bottom half of the front of the card only
Center the embossed piece of cardstock on the base and adhere it to the bottom half of the front of the card.
HINT: if you use liquid glue on the whole front base of the card you won’t be able to make it an easel card
After wiping down the scrap piece of Cajun Craze with your embossing buddy, stamp the sentiment using VersaMark ink
Cover the sentiment using white embossing powder and heat set
Crop the sentiment using a small deckled rectangle die
Trim a piece of the white diagonal ribbon so that you have two pieces about 1-1/2 inches long and adhere them to the back of the sentiment panel
Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment panel and adhere to the DSP
Stamp the inside sentiment on the cropped white cardstock about halfway down to allow for the easel stop
Adhere the white cardstock to the inside of the card
Add dimensionals to the strip of DSP for the easel stop and adhere it to the white cardstock
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
I’m always excited for the mini catty releases because of the holiday products.
Since I am on the design team for a sister challenge, the monthly Sparkles Christmas Challenge, I already have some of the cards I will need. However, I heard new holiday products calling my name and couldn’t resist!
While you can click on the link above, here’s a listing of the new products as well. Please click on the individual pictures to see the products in a larger size picture.
If you live in the U.S. and don’t already have a Stampin’ UP! demo from whom you order, I would be honored to work with you.

This month, the theme is “All Creatures Great and Small.” We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I used the By Your Side kit for my cards for this hop. I made the first one following the kit directions. I used the same adorable pup for the second fun fold card as an alternative. We had a schnauzer, Brandy, when I was growing up and this cutie looks like him.
Here are my cards:
I’ve made a number of joy fold cards recently, and I used Rachel Tessman’s directions and video. You can see on of the alternate cat card from this kit here. Some of my previous joy fold cards can be found here and here. Here’s another look at one of my joy fold cards:
This Thoughtful Journey DSP (designer series paper) is just gorgeous with this joy fold! As always with fun fold cards, I will be entering this into the current Creative Creases Challenge.
Measurements:
I’ve had to adjust my measurements slightly to allow for the schnauzer on the front of my card. However, please, please, please use Rachel’s printable and video while creating this card.
HINT: When creating a card by following the directions on a video, I always watch the video first, and then make decisions about the supplies I will need. I get my stamping done and am then ready to start. This way, I can follow along with the video to make all my cuts and score lines, and assemble the card.
Stamping, Dry Embossing, & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together, especially since this card already has a number of layers
I used a Blackberry Bliss base for this card
The center panel on the front flap is also Blackberry Bliss, which I embossed using the exposed brick embossing folder
All the stamps and the acrylic block come with the By Your Side kit
The white banner comes with the kit, and I trimmed off the black polka dot bottom and outlined the banner using a Blackberry Bliss marker
I stamped both sentiments using Blackberry Bliss ink as well as the bones on the inside and envelope flap
I used Wild Wheat to stamp all the paws
The gold heart comes with the kit
I did add dimensionals under the schnauzer to adhere him to the front of the card
Finally, I punched a 1-inch circle from a leftover piece of the embossed Blackberry Bliss cardstock and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker
With that, I’d finished this adorable coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
Back to the Pals’ Blog Hop:
There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. We hope you will come back for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be “Orange Theory.”

Welcome to the newest Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #355! Helen. is hosting this two-week challenge and she chose Nautical for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
Here’s my Nautical card:
As always, since this is a fun fold, I will be uploading it to the gallery in the Creative Creases Challenge.
Sometimes we all need a little bit, or a lot, of inspiration. When that happens, I turn to Pinterest, as I am sure so many of you do. I found Carole’s Creative Corner and the directions for this double z-fold card and CASe’d (copy and share, everything/edit it using DSP (designer series paper) and the Sailing Home stamp set with the coordinated Sailing Away die set:
Carole used the long retired DSP that accompanied the retired bundle. I used some retired Gone Fishing DSP because I love the colors and patterns.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches
Trim another piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 3 by 10 inches, scored at 2-1/2 and 5 inches
The front DSP measures 2-5/8 by 4-1/8 inches
Trim a piece of the same DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
The Crumb Cake DSP measures 4-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches
Punch a 1-inch circle from the Crumb Cake DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope sea
You need a piece of white cardstock trimmed to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside background
The two squares of white cardstock for the smaller piece of Night of Navy measure 2-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches
I did have scraps for the lighthouse, sentiment label, and the ship wheel
Stamping & Assembly:
I only used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together because the card is already a little bulky and I didn’t want to need extra postage
Stamp the lighthouse using Night of Navy ink on white cardstock
Stamp the boat and the birds using Night of Navy on one of the squares of white cardstock
Stamp the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set on white cardstock with Night of Navy ink
Crop the lighthouse, ship’s wheel, and the sentiment label using dies from the Sailing Away die set
Punch a 2-1/2 inch circle from Night of Navy cardstock
Adhere your pieces together, starting with the DSP and white cardstock on the base.
Adhere the pieces to the smaller z-fold piece of Night of Navy cardstock, then adhere to your card base
I had some Crumb Cake/Navy baker’s twine but it was too thick for what I wanted so I pulled 3 pieces of the twine out and used what was left on the ship’s wheel
Adhere the baker’s twine using a mini-glue dot
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
I’ve been using the By Your Side kit to create a number of cards. You can see one of the cards here, and there will be more coming on September 11, 2024 for the Pals’ Blog Hop.
Here’s the unboxing video for the absolutely adorable By Your Side kit:

Welcome to my three-fer card! I was able to combine three challenges using this one card. I hope that my card inspires you to play along with one, two, or three of these challenges! I love playing along with card challenges! However, since I am on four design teams and participate in blog hops, I spent the month of July trying to get as far ahead as possible. Therefore, I am tickled (Flirty Flamingo) pink to be able to play along with these three.
First, here’s my card:
Second, here are the banners and links (click on the image) for the challenges:
I turned this sketch to a horizontal orientation for my card, which is totally acceptable.
Measurements:
The Old Olive base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-2/2 inches
I used a piece of the Pecan Pie retired Gorgeous Gingham DSP (designer series paper) for the front of the card and each piece measures 4-1/8 by 2-5/8 inches
Trim a piece of the same DSP to 3/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the inside stop piece
Next, trim a piece of Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
Punch a 1-inch circle from the remaining gingham DSP for the envelope seal and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside of the card
I cropped the two circles on the front from the middle of an Old Olive and Pecan Pie cardstock, which will allow me to use each piece for a mat on another card
The label and playful kitten on the front, the sentiments, and fish stamp all come from the By Your Side kit
Take a look at this absolutely stinking adorable kit available now:
It was unorderable for quite a bit of time. As popular as this kit is, I’d suggest getting it ASAP to make sure you can use it as it comes, or to create alternate cards like I did.
Stamping & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
I used a black Stampin’ Write marker to outline the two deckled circle pieces on the front because I wanted them to pop off the card front
Stamp the sentiments using Old Olive ink
Stamp the fist using Pecan Pie ink
Adhere the DSP pieces to the front of the card and the white cardstock to the inside
Adhere the two deckled circles together
After dry-fitting your playful kitten and the sentiment, add dimensionals to the back of each to adhere them to the circles
Making sure to only add liquid glue to the bottom half of the Pecan Pie circle, adhere to the front of the card
Add dimensionals to the gingham strip of DSP and adhere to the inside of the card about 1 inch from the top of the white cardstock
Finally, I added a speckled epoxy dot to the sentiment banner on the front
With that, I’d finished this very quick By Your Side card kit alternate card, envelope, and envelope seal
