Welcome to another Make My Monday Challenge! Pamela chose this challenge’s theme: Christmas. I am nowhere near finished my Christmas cards, and I really need to get them in the mail ASAP. That means I now need to start mass-producing cards instead of making individual ones.
Here’s my fun fold card for this challenge:
Here are the inside panels:
The two inside panels with the text comes from the Wonders of the Season Specialty DSP, and it’s actually a story. There’s a spectacular gold and white foil pattern on the reverse side.
Fun Fold Directions – Short and Sweet
This easy-peasy fun fold starts with a cardstock base measuring 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches. It’s scored at 4-1/4 inches and 2-1/8 inches. Fold the front back at the score line and burnish the fold. That’s all it takes. From there, the card can be customized any way you want.
Shaker Card Made Easy
I really haven’t made many shaker cards in the past at all. Now, with a new, and much easier, technique I’ve been making quite a few of them.
So, what makes shaker cards so easy? Clear envelopes. Winner, winner!
Here’s the Stampin’ Up! catalog picture for the clear envelopes.
These clear beauties make the whole process a snap!
First, decide on the layout and measurements of your focal piece, which will form the base of your shaker card.
For this card, I used the largest Stitched Shapes square die for the white cardstock. The Seaside Spray square, from the Layered Squares die set, measures 3-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches.
I stamped this adorable owl from the Peek-a-Hoot stamp set on the white cardstock and on a scrap piece. After cropping the owl using the coordinating die set, I colored the branch on the white background. I used the light Smoky Slate blend for the owl’s body, dark Smoky Slate blend for the eyelids and talons.
The dark Seaside Spray blend and the dark Misty Moonlight blend was used for the present.
There’s a snowflake stamp in the Snowman Season stamp set. I used it to stamp Seaside Spray snowflakes twice before reinking. The Merry Christmas sentiment comes from the Peek-a-Hoot stamp set.
On to the Shaker Envelope
I will be the first to admit that I learn something new every time I make another shaker. Therefore, the following steps are by no means the be-all and end-all for directions, and if you have an easier way to do this, please share in the comments below.
I’ve found that I need to make sure I don’t get the insides going behind the base of the shaker. Therefore, this step of the process, for me, is still a work in progress.
I place a strip of Tear and Tape across the top and what will be the open side of the back of the base. This is where it gets tricky, but it’s the only tricky part. After removing the back pieces of the tear-and-tape, carefully, very, very carefully, insert the assembled base into the clear envelope. It needs to go all the way down to the very corner of the envelope and fit along the bottom of the envelope.
Next, trim the clear envelope on the TOP only. I have been giving myself about an inch excess on the top of the base. In addition, I haven’t been brave enough to trim the excess on the sides.
I’ve been using tear and tape when folding in the excess parts of the clear envelope, kind of like a present.
The Fun Part
Now for the fun part. I saw a video about 6 weeks ago and the demonstrator, Connie Stewart said she uses Kosher Salt for the inside of the shaker. You can see her video here. I’ve been using Kosher Salt and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I added some snowflake sequins as well. It doesn’t take a lot of the “snow” at all. I’ve got about 1/2 tsp in my shaker and it’s almost too much.
Finally, fold down the top of the clear envelope, again like the end of a present, and use more tear and tape.
Since this shaker would have half of the back showing inside the fun fold, it needed to be a lot neater than if i had attached it all to the front of a card. Therefore, I simply trimmed a piece of Seaside Spray to 3-1/2 inches square and attached it to the back of the clear envelope.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

Welcome to another post for the Make My Monday design team. I chose the challenge theme of Thankful. Whether you will celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday or not, there is always something for which we can all be thankful. For this card, I used the Plaid Tidings DSP, copper foil, and the Autumn Greetings stamp set.
Here’s my card:
Here’s what I did:
The Pretty Peacock base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent card.
I trimmed the copper foil mat to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. Since I didn’t want to waste the whole piece that wouldn’t be seen, I used a stitched rectangles die to crop out the middle. Now, I can use that piece on another project.
I needed two pieces of the Plaid Tidings DSP. The background piece measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. The second piece is for the envelope flap and measures 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
There’s also two pieces of Whisper White cardstock. I trimmed both to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. One of those pieces is for the inside. I used the other piece to create my focal panel on the front.
The Front Focal Panel
Next, I used my Stamp-aratus to stamp the large fall floral image using Cajun Craze on the white cardstock. Since I used the Stamp-aratus, I was able to clean the stamp after using the Cajun Craze and restamp using VersaMark.
After stamping the VersaMark twice, I covered the image in clear embossing powder, then used the heat tool to set the powder. Watching that magic happen is always special.
Then I cropped the stamped/embossed floral swag using the same stitched rectangle die I used to crop out the center of the copper foil.
I used scrap pieces of cardstock to create the sentiment panel. Both the sentiment mat and greeting are in Pretty Peacock. I cropped the sentiment using another stitched rectangle die. There are dimensionals under both the sentiment and the mat.
The double layer of dimensionals were necessary for me to be able to use the acorn trinket. I tied a piece of the copper ribbon around the focal panel and added the acorn trinker to the double square knot.
I stamped another sentiment from the Autumn Greetings stamp set in Pretty Peacock on the inside panel. I accented the sentiment using Cajun Craze and the falling leaves stamp.
Finally, I adhered the DSP to the envelope flap. With that, I’d finished this card/envelope set.
I think I am going to make some more cards using this layout. I still need a couple of Thanksgiving cards before Thursday, and this card came together rather easily.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Pile It On” – showcasing their card/project with layers of DSP and/or embellishments for any occasion. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Here’s my card:
I even piled it on for the inside.
Autumn Greetings and Quite Curvy
The Autumn Greetings stamp set has really grown on me. I loved the font right away, but I really didn’t like the big autumn floral stamp in the set. However, after creating this elegant fall card as a design team member for Make My Monday, I have changed my mind. You can see that card here. I decided that I would use the Gilded Autumn DSP, the Merry Merlot, and Soft Sea Foam 6″ x 6″ DSP.
Getting Curvy
The Soft Sea Foam base was trimmed to 8-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The middle mat layer is the copper foil paper trimmed to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
Next, I trimmed the Merry Merlot DSP to 4 inches by 3-1/2 inches. Then I used the Curvy Dies to crop the Merry Merlot DSP so that the highest side measures 3-1/2 inches.
I trimmed the Gilded Autumn DSP to 4 inches by 3 inches. This means that the Merry Merlot and the Gilded Autumn DSP overlaps.
I used the three mini punches that come with the Autumn Greetings bundle to punch out some of the leaves and acorn from the gilded DSP.
Then it was time to work on the curvy leaves part of the card. I stamped the leaves garland from the Quite Curvy stamp set using VersaMark on Soft Sea Foam DSP. The Stamp-aratus made stamping the leafy garland so much easier! While I had just re-nked my VersaMark, the Stamp-aratus made the stamp placement perfect .
After stamping, I covered the VersaMark copper embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool. Then I cropped the garland using a die from the Curvy Dies. The first time I cropped, my placement was off. Therefore, I cut off the part I messed up and used it for the bottom of the inside of the card. So, I piled it on for the inside as well.
I used mini-dimensionals to pop up the leafy garland and the mini-punched pieces.
Very Vanilla
Very Vanilla works perfectly with the Gilded Autumn DSP. I used a scrap piece for the sentiment panel, which is also embossed with heat set copper embossing powder.
I trimmed the vanilla cardstock to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside. This wonderful sentiment from Autumn Greetings perfectly matches the Thanksgiving theme. As I said earlier, I used my oops garland on the bottom of the inside.
Originally, I didn’t have any ribbon chosen for this card. When trying to figure out where I needed the outside sentiment to live, I decided I did need a bit of something. Trial and error definitely came into play will trying to figure out what to use. Finally, I decided to use linen thread.
After adhering a piece of the Merry Merlot DSP to the Very Vanilla envelope flap, I had completed this card/envelope set.

This is going to be extremely fast, short, and a tiny, little bit spooky. I’ve been making Halloween cards for my daughter, nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and nephew for a couple of months. However, it all came down to a rush in the end. Now that they are all on their way, with a treat inside, I thought I would share the ones not already posted on my blog.
The 6′ x 6′ Plaid Tidings DSP really helped tremendously with each of these cards and the coordinating envelope flaps.
Here are the remaining cards to be posted:
Using a mask helped make this card so much easier to make. An Easter Bunny with a Halloween pumpkin??? It works when your 4 year old great-niece is obsessed with the Easter Bunny. I really love the spider web corner stamp from the Festive Corners stamp set, but this is the only way I could figure out how to use it. This card truly was a comedy of errors. I had the picture in my head, but really struggled to bring it to life. The little spider down in the corner is to cover just one of the problem areas.
Once in a Blue Moon
It seems fitting that in 2020 we have a Blue Moon, Halloween, and turning the clocks back one hour all at once.
Like I said at the top, short and sweet. I hope this weekend is kind to you. Stay safe, stay well, stay happy.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.
Have a Peachy Day!

Somewhere along the line the other day I saw a color challenge on one of the many challenges I follow. ctd614 colors for this week include purple, green, and khaki.
Here’s my card:
Here’s the challenge banner:
At first, I had pastels in mind, but I couldn’t get anything to work. Then I found this already stamped and cropped Mossy Meadow tree in the Rooted in Nature stamp set case. That’s how I came up with this color combination.
What I Did
I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and coordinating dies for all the stamped images on the front of the card.
I stamped the cross-section of the tree three times without re-inking, starting in the bottom right-hand corner. The third stamp is just barely visible to the right of the tree, but that’s what I wanted.
I stamped the leaf trio and sentiment in Blackberry Bliss then cropped them out. The stitched rectangle die fits the sentiment perfectly.
I used the triple banner punch for both banners. Since I wanted a clean as possible card, I simply used a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The Mossy Meadow DSP provided the color for the thinner banner.
I knew I wanted to have some sort of natural twine on the card. After trial and error, I came up with just wrapping the linen thread around the DSP banner 5 times.
Dimensionals provide the depth for the tree, leaf trio, and sentiment. I used the multipurpose liquid adhesive for everything else. The use of this adhesive allows for a few seconds of wiggle time to get the position just right.
The Inside
Here’s the inside of the card:
I’ve had to create sympathy cards for the past few months, they are the difficult to create when needed. The Here’s a Card stamp set contains a sympathy stamp which coordinates with the sentiment on the front.
I second-generation stamped the cross-section of the tree using Soft Suede, just as on the front. Since I had a stamped and cropped leaf trio I adhered it on top of the cross-section.
I stamped the inside sentiment in Blackberry Bliss.
After adhering a piece of Soft Suede DSP to the envelope flap, I’d finished this sympathy card/envelope set.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects where “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Here’s my card:
While I knew what sentiment I wanted to use, I struggled with the rest of the card. I wound up creating three cards. All three have the same sentiment, but different DSP and layouts.
Measurements:
I used Garden Green for the base, which measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches. The score line created a tent card.
The Pear Pizazz middle mat cut to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches, allowed the DSP to really stand out from the base of the card..
The Forever Fern DSP for the front of the card was trimmed to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I cropped the Forever Fern DSP for the sentiment block mat using the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes die set. While I had that DSP out, I trimmed a piece for the inside, bottom border to 1/2 inch by 5-1/4 inches.
I also trimmed a piece for the envelope flap to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches. A number of the Forever Fern prints have a definite top and bottom, so be careful when trimming.
Next, I stamped the outside sentiment on Whisper White using Pretty Peacock and cropped it using the middle square from Stitched Shapes die set. I put dimensionals under the sentiment square.
While I had the Whisper White cardstock and Pretty Peacock ink pad out, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card. Next, I stamped the inside sentiment, then adhered the DSP strip at the bottom.
Assembly
First, I adhered the inside white cardstock using some multipurpose adhesive.
Next, I adhered the Pear Pizazz mat to the Garden Green base, again using multipurpose adhesive.
Ater dry-fitting my sentiment block and mat, I thought I needed some separation between the card front and the mat. Therefore, I used the Pretty Peacock marker to outline the edges of the mat. Then, I adhered the DSP mat to the DSP front.
Then I wrapped a length of the Just Jade ribbon around the front DSP piece, going over the sentiment mat. I tied the ribbon in a simple square knot.
The next thing to do was, add the sentiment square, on dimensionals, to the DSP sentiment mat.
I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap. With that, I’d finished this card/envelope set.
This past weekend wound up being a semi-easy peasy card weekend. Another easy-peasy card, posted yesterday, can be found here.
