This past week was the first full week of school for the kids in one of two formats: virtual or face 2 face. All I can ask is for all of us to please be kind to teachers. As a result of the week, I found myself creatively blocked all week. Therefore, I was thrilled to have created five (5!!) cards between Saturday night and Sunday. Tonight, I am sharing one of the ones I created for fun using the party animal zebras.

Here’s my card:

Truly a 15 Minute Card

This really is an easy-peasy card. I didn’t emboss anything or use any ribbon. Stamp, adhere, done!

  • I used Whisper White for the base of the card, adding to its simplicity. The base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent card.
  • The Melon Mambo mat measures 4-1/4 inches by 5-1/2 inches.
  • I added a Basic Black mat, which measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. In an effort to save some cardstock, I used a stitched rectangle die to crop out the middle of the black mat.
  • The top Whisper White part measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
  • The plaid DSP comes from the Plaid Tidings 6 x 6 DSP pack. It’s trimmed to 2 inches by 4 inches.
  • Instead of using ribbon on this card, I used a piece of Melon Mambo DSP. This pattern is from last year and since I had enough for this card, I used it instead of this year’s DSP. I trimmed the border piece to 3/4 inches by 4 inches. I adhered it to the top of the plaid DSP.
  • While I had the Melon Mambo DSP out, I trimmed a piece to 1/2 inch by 4 inches for the bottom of the inside of the card. I also trimmed a piece to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches for the envelope flap.
  • Cutting: check!

Stamping and Finishing

I decided to use all the zebras for this card/envelope set because I couldn’t pick just one.

  • I stamped the zebra and the ground pieces on the front using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
  • After stamping the zebra, I figured out where the sentiments would need to fit and stamped them.
  • Next, I stamped the marching zebra and ground bits on the bottom right hand side of the inside. Since he is looking backwards, he works in that position.
  • I figured out where the sentiments needed to be placed and stamped them on the inside of the card.
  • The third zebra found a place to live on the front, bottom, right-hand corner of the envelope.

After adhering everything in place on the card and envelope, I’d finished this card/envelope set. Easy peasy and so incredibly cute to boot!

As always, thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d also love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

Have a Peachy Day!

Two More for a BLOG CANDY Giveaway!

I know that you have many, many options for blogs written by Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. I also know that many of those demonstrators have thousands and thousands of followers. In late January/early February I had decided to spread my wings and start building a business side. I had gotten a few leads and was planning card workshops for these leads. Then, March happened, and 2020 just keeps getting more interesting.

As such, I greatly appreciate every, single follower. I now have just under 100 followers, which I would really love and appreciate triple digits for followers.
