Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects where “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Here’s my card:

While I knew what sentiment I wanted to use, I struggled with the rest of the card. I wound up creating three cards. All three have the same sentiment, but different DSP and layouts.

Measurements:

  • I used Garden Green for the base, which measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches. The score line created a tent card.
  • The Pear Pizazz middle mat cut to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches, allowed the DSP to really stand out from the base of the card..
  • The Forever Fern DSP for the front of the card was trimmed to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
  • I cropped the Forever Fern DSP for the sentiment block mat using the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes die set. While I had that DSP out, I trimmed a piece for the inside, bottom border to 1/2 inch by 5-1/4 inches.
  • I also trimmed a piece for the envelope flap to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches. A number of the Forever Fern prints have a definite top and bottom, so be careful when trimming.
  • Next, I stamped the outside sentiment on Whisper White using Pretty Peacock and cropped it using the middle square from Stitched Shapes die set. I put dimensionals under the sentiment square.
  • While I had the Whisper White cardstock and Pretty Peacock ink pad out, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card. Next, I stamped the inside sentiment, then adhered the DSP strip at the bottom.

Assembly

  • First, I adhered the inside white cardstock using some multipurpose adhesive.
  • Next, I adhered the Pear Pizazz mat to the Garden Green base, again using multipurpose adhesive.
  • Ater dry-fitting my sentiment block and mat, I thought I needed some separation between the card front and the mat. Therefore, I used the Pretty Peacock marker to outline the edges of the mat. Then, I adhered the DSP mat to the DSP front.
  • Then I wrapped a length of the Just Jade ribbon around the front DSP piece, going over the sentiment mat. I tied the ribbon in a simple square knot.
  • The next thing to do was, add the sentiment square, on dimensionals, to the DSP sentiment mat.
  • I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap. With that, I’d finished this card/envelope set.

This past weekend wound up being a semi-easy peasy card weekend. Another easy-peasy card, posted yesterday, can be found here.
