Welcome back to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 221. Our host, Lynda, picked Spring Flowers with Punches or Dies for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
I needed two of the same card, just different colors. Here are my cards:
I used Highland Heather for the first card and Starry Sky for the second. The dimensions and assembly are the same for both.
Measurements:
The base of each card measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
Next, I trimmed a piece of 6 x 6 inch DSP (designer series paper) to4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
I also trimmed a piece of each DSP to 6 x 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. I punched 1-inch circles and used the flip side pattern for the envelope seals. Then, I ran those 2 circles through my XYRON create-a-sticker to finish the seal.
The white cardstock on the inside of each card measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I used the Color and Contour stamp set and coordinating dies for the flowers. I stamped each on white cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. These flowers are two-steps, so then I stamped the floral color images.
Stamp the sentiment in black ink and crop using a banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set.
The colored cardstock and the white cardstock layers were cropped using the Scalloped Contour die set.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces of the card, except as noted below.
Adhere the DSP to the base.
Next, adhere the two scalloped layers together and wrap a piece of silver & white sheer ribbon around those two pieces, then tie it in a bow.
The ribbon is thin enough to use liquid glue to adhere it to the DSP.
Add dimensionals to the cropped floral pieces and adhere to the front of the cards.
Adhere the floral spray so that it fits under the ribbon.
Add dimensionals to the far right side of the sentiment banner and liquid glue on the left side. Adhere to the card.
With that, I’d finished these coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal sets.
I’ve already ordered some of these products and have more on the way. I can’t wait to start playing with them! Take a look at just some of the new products available!
I love the script used for these sentiments. I’ve used the birthday one, and it fits so well on a landscape 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 inch card! You can see that card here.
The stamps for these adorable critters are two -stamps: the outline image is on one side and the animal is on the other. The sample card uses the animal stamp.
The Drizzling Droplets stamp and the Latte Love suite arrived yesterday, and I’ve already got a sketch challenge in mind for the Latte Love products. I’ll be playing with this tomorrow.
This suite would be suitable for masculine or feminine cards, and I can’t wait to get my creative mojo flowing with the whole suite.

Welcome to the first Cardz for Guyz for 2023. I’m back from a break and am extremely grateful for the assistance Caz, our fearless challenge leader, when I needed to take a break.
For this challenge, I created a card for my great-nephew. I saw this idea at some point, and I tend to get lost in my clicking. Therefore, I have no idea where I first saw this idea. If you know, please let me know so I can give the proper person credit.
Here’s my card:
When I made this card, I actually made a card for his sister for her 5th birthday, and my other great-niece for her 7th birthday. However, in trying to get the white accents on the candles, I ruining those cards. More about that in a bit.
Measurements:
The Tahitian Tide base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Parakeet Party DSP measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I also trimmed a piece of Tahitian Tide DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Then, I punched a 1 inch circle from the Parakeet Party DSP for the envelope seal.
The white layer is watercolor paper and measures 3-1/2 inches by 4-3/4 inches.
The In Colors for 2022 – 2024 are pretty bright, so I needed something to tone it down a little and to give your eyes a place to rest. To accomplish that, I used two Basic Black cardstock mats. The first one is 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. The smaller one measures 3-5/8 by 4-7/8 inches.
I cropped the 3 from one of the black cardstock layers.
As usual, I trimmed white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.
That’s it for the measurements.
Watercoloring:
For each candle, I put one drop of re-inker on an acrylic block. I used the widest water painter brush and a small bit of water to dip into the ink. Then, I was able to just stroke the color on the watercolor paper.
I did the same thing for the three flames.
I needed to let the candles dry overnight just to be sure that every bit had dried completely. Then, I used the journaling pen to outline each of the candles and flames.
Next, I stamped the greeting using Tuxedo Black Momento ink.
Here’s where I ruined the other two cards. I tried to use a fine-tip silver Sharpie for the accents. The watercolor paper just sucked up the Sharpie. Then it was a trial and error trying to find something that would work on the watercolor paper. I finally found a white gel pen but had to put multiple layers of the gel pen on each candle. Once again, I needed to let everything dry between layers.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the layers. I added dimensionals under the 3 to pop it up. While I wanted to add some other embellishments, since this is a card for a little guy, I left it simple.
With that, I’d completed this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Here are some SU! videos regarding the FREE items you can earn! I have to tell you, the first SAB item I earned was the owls stamp set. So, so, so stinking cute!!! They are so easy to fussy cut as well.

Welcome to the newest two week challenge for Make My Monday! Our host for challenge #178, Billie A., chose the theme of using splatters. What fun! When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge page to check out the fabulous projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you are inspired to play along with us!
Here’s my splatter card:
Here’s the challenge banner from Try Stamping on Tuesday # 562, which I used for inspiration. My three stripes turned out wider than the inspiration sketch, but I wanted to showcase the splatters.
Measurements:
The Starry Sky base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
Next, the white cardstock layer measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. I also trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside.
The Real Red cardstock on the front measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed a piece of the Starry Sky 6 x 6 inch DSP (designer series paper) to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
After I stamped the splatters, I trimmed the splattered white cardstock to 3-1/2 by 1-1/2 inches.
Stamping and Embossing:
I started with a white piece of cardstock and used Real Red and Starry Sky ink pads for the splatters. I used the two different splatters from the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. First, I stamped the larger one in Starry Sky. Then I filled in with the smaller stamp in Real Red.
It’s difficult to see, but I stamped the splatter from Painted Poppies in VersaMark randomly around the white cardstock. Then, I covered all those splatters with white embossing powder and heat set it all with my heat tool.
Since I didn’t really get the effect I wanted with the white embossed splatters, I decided to add embossed white splatters on the Starry Sky splatters.
Then, I trimmed the white splattered cardstock down to the size I wanted.
Next, I used the Happy Birthday stamp from the Special Moments stamp set. I masked off the birthday part, and just stamped happy in Real Red ink on vellum cardstock. Then, I quickly added clear embossing powder and heat set it.
I used the Starry Sky 6 x 6 inch DSP to crop out TH using the Playful Alphabet dies. The 4 comes from the retired large numbers die set.
After cropping both circles using the Stylish Shapes dies, I adhered the 4th using multipurpose liquid adhesive. These letters/number allowed me to add liquid glue behind them to adhere the vellum to the front of the card.
For the happy circle, I needed to adhere it in a different way since the adhesive wouldn’t be hidden. So, I grabbed a make-up sponge and my silicone mat. I added liquid glue to the back of the vellum and used the sponge to spread it out evenly on the circle. An even layer of adhesive won’t show through the vellum cardstock.
Finishing Up:
The final touch on the front was to place nine red dots on the white cardstock panels. The ones on the outside of the 4th vellum circle help to anchor the edges to the front of the card.
Then, I punch a 1 inch circle out of some of the leftover splatter paper for the envelope seal. With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 175. Lynda chose the theme of using punches and/or dies for this two week challenge. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team members created. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired to play along with us! Can’t wait to see your creations in our gallery.
I used a stamp set and coordinating die set from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration catalog. This promotion starts on July 1, 2022. I earned both parts of this set with a qualifying order of $50 each piece. Adorable and fun doesn’t even begin to describe these Hippest Hippos!
Here’s my card:
Isn’t this hippo just fabulous? I used the stylish shapes dies for the banner and the fish come from the Seas the Day dies, as does the sentiment. I used the same DIY stencil for the clouds that I used on the Color Throwdown post on Wednesday. You can see that post, and the directions for creating the clouds, here. The bird stamp can be found in the Waves of Inspiration set. Other than that, everything comes from the Hippest Hippos set.
Measurements:
The Tahitian Tide base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
I used the 2022-2024 In Color 6 x 6 inch DSP (designer series paper) for the waves at the bottom of the card. There’s a die in the Hippo die set to crop the waves.
Next, I picked a piece of the Parakeet Party In Color DSP for the envelope flap. I trimmed it to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
At the same time, I punched a 1 inch circle from the Sweet Sorbet DSP for the envelope seal. After I ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker, I had my finished envelope seal.
The life preserver and the water droplets were both cropped from the same In Color DSP pack.
I needed a piece of white cardstock for the front, and it measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. The white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I cropped the boat from a scrap piece of woodgrain DSP.
That’s it for measurements.
What I Did:
First, I used Tahitian Tide ink, a blender brush, and the DIY clouds stencil to create the sky for the background of this card. You can find the directions for how I did it here.
Then, I stamped the hippo and sentiment in black ink.
Next, I colored the hippo using the Smoky Slate light and dark blends markers. I used the light petal pink blend for his mouth.
I thought the Sweet Sorbet color would add a pop of brightness to the card, so I used that for the three fish.
Then, I did all the cropping I needed at once. I started with the waves. I’m still not 100% sold on the way they came out, but I do have another card started. My mind has been working through different ways to make the waves work better, but I might just have to visit Pinterest.
I have a layer of Sweet Sorbet topped by a layer of Starry Sky for the life preserver.
Next, I cropped the goggles and snorkle from a scrap of Parakeet Party 6 x 6 In Color DSP.
I finished up by cropping the water droplets from Tahitian Tide DSP, the fish, and the sentiment, for which I used the Stylish Shapes die.
Assembly:
First, I layered the waves on a piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock, then added dimensionals under the cardstock.
Next, I adhered the goggles and snorkle to the hippo and the life preserver to the boat using multipurpose liquid glue.
Then, I added dimensionals under the boat and hippo. Thankfully, the snorkle lies on the face of the hippo so I didn’t need to try to get dimensionals under it.
However, I did need dimensionals under the droplets. I had to cut mini-dimensionals into little, tiny pieces of dimensionals.
HINT: I strongly recommend using scissors with titanium blades so the adhesive doesn’t stick to the scissors. Since I’m left-handed I prefer this pair and this pair, both on Amazon.
HINT # 2: I also strongly recommend reverse tweezers for cardmaking. I’ve got 4 pairs (a bit much, I know) and use them on every project. They take a bit to get used to them, but since they stay closed on their own, they are invaluable. You can find the EK Tools reverse tweezers on Amazon here.
Then, I tucked two fish into the waves and one so that it would peek out from under the sentiment.
Finally, I turned my attention to the sentiment banner. I added a piece of tear and tape to the back of the sentiment so I could easily wrap the Tahitian Tide metallic ribbon around the banner three times. I added dimensionals to the sentiment banner, and adhered it to the card.
I haven’t stamped an inside sentiment yet because the front sentiment covers so many occasions. Therefore, I will add the sentiment when I am ready to use the card.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
