Welcome to the new Cardz 4 Galz challenge! Billie A, our host for this two week challenge, chose 2 or more DSP patterns for the theme. I decided to use the 6 x 6 inch DSP for the new In Colors for my card. The Natural Prints bundle seemed to be a good choice for these bright 2022 – 2024 In Colors.
Here’s my card:
As a design team member, I really enjoy looking at and commenting on the entries in our galleries. Another perk is that I get introduced to new challenges through the gallery entries, and that’s how I found the Sketch Saturday challenge blog. Here’s the sketch I used for inspiration:
Measurements:
I actually had looked at the wrong page in my planner and thought I needed to make a card used rectangles. However, that challenge isn’t until the end of the month. <shrugging my shoulders> Therefore, with triangles in mind, I decided to used Parakeet Party and Starry Sky accented by Sweet Sorbet DSPs.
The Starry Sky base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
After I ran a piece of white cardstock through my cut and emboss machine using the Fern 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The Sweet Sorbet DSP mat measures 5-3/8 by 2-1/8 inches. I also used this DSP for the envelope flap, and that measures 6 by 2-1/2 inches.
Then, I trimmed both the Parakeet Party and Starry Sky DSP patterns down to a 2 inch strip. From there, I trimmed three 2 inch squares from each DSP pattern. Next, I cut the two inch squares in half diagonally to create triangles.
I played around with the arrangement of the triangles and finally decided to create parallelograms using the triangles. (Yes, I am that math person and I’ve loved the word “parallelogram” from the time I learned the name of the shape.)
What I Did:
Using the Nature’s Prints stamp set, I stamped the largest spray of leaves in Sweet Sorbet twice. One spray was cropped using the coordinating die and I stamped one on the piece of white cardstock for the inside.
I did the same thing with Starry Sky ink for the wheat-looking sprays. I cropped two for the outside of the card, and stamped one on the white cardstock for the inside.
Then, I stamped the front of the envelope to match the inside card panel.
The sentiment also comes from this same stamp set, and I cropped it using the label in the die set. I wanted the label to stand out from the white embossed background, so I outlined it using my Sweet Sorbet marker.
Next, I added some tear and tape to the back of the Sweet Sorbet DSP panel and cut two lengths of the metallic ribbon. I used a glue dot in the center of the DSP panel so I could create the X with ribbon. The tear and tape on the back held the ends of the lengths of ribbon in place.
I only put dimensionals on the bac of the Sweet Sorbet spray and the sentiment label. My fave adhesive, multipurpose liquid glue, adhered everything else.
I added five of the brushed brass butterflies to the front of the card to finish it off.
After punching a 1 inch circle from the Starry Sky DSP for the envelope seal, I ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and seal set.

Welcome to the newest challenge from Cardz 4 Galz! Dawn is hosting this challenge, #173, and chose the theme of using the sentiment as the focal point. Here’s my card:
Amazing!
I used the new gorgeous blue In Color 2022 – 2024 called Starry Sky, and I just love it! The base measures 8-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I trimmed a piece of the Sun Prints DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches. for the envelope flap.
Since it’s important to use a 3D embossing folder before trimming the cardstock in order to get an accurate size, I stamped the image first using Starry Sky ink. This gorgeous tree comes from the Amazing Silhouettes cling stamp set.. After embossing it using the bark 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 5-1/4 inches by 4 inches.
I embossed another piece of white cardstock using the bark embossing folder. Then, I used the coordinating Amazing Thanks die set. This set includes the words themselves and the matching mats. Staying with my monochromatic color scheme, I cropped the mats from Starry Sky cardstock. After adhering the white and Starry Sky layers, I added mini-dimensionals underneath the matted words. I could’ve used the foam adhesive sheets for the height, but the minis did the trick easily.
While I had the white cardstock out, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card. I didn’t stamp a sentiment on the inside so this can be an all-occasion card.
Finally, I used a length of the new Starry Sky metallic woven ribbon around the white cardstock and tied it in a bow. In order to keep the bow in place and tied, I added a mini-glue dot beneath the bow.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card and envelope set.

Welcome to the new Cardz 4 Galz challenge, #170! I’m hosting this challenge, and I chose fun folds for the theme. I am always looking for new fun folds to try, and I’d love to see your fun folds in the gallery! I hope this post, and the posts from the other design team members, inspires you to play along with us!
Once again, I turned to JanB’s YouTube videos for my inspiration. I have a colleague who hasn’t purchased a store-bought card in the 3+ years he’s been at the school, and I needed an Easter card for him to give his parents. While this may look complicated, it really isn’t, and we will keep that our secret.
I followed right along with JanB’s video and here’s my fun fold card:
If you click on the link for Jan B’s video, you will see that I used Hand-Penned Petals DSP, just as she did. I used all the same measurements that are given in the video. I even put a scalloped circle on the back of the inside of the card, just like JanB.
One Difference:
The only layout difference is that I added a layer under the focal image on the front, as seen below:
If anything was “tricky” about this card, it was this part.
Here’s how I did it:
First, I stamped two images on pieces of scrap white cardstock.
Next, I stamped the flowers and leaves on one image only. In order to coordinate with the DSP, I used Highland Heather and Mint Macaron stamp pads.
Then, I cropped the image using the coordinating die set.
Thankfully, I have plenty of removable tape, and used that to align the colored image with the uncolored image. This allowed me to crop both the images at once using a layering circle die.
After that, all I needed to do was put dimensionals under the colored image and adhere the two pieces.

Right before I was ready to schedule this post, I thought I needed to add some bling to this card. So, I grabbed the coordinating genial gems and added one to the center of each of the flowers in the pull-out part of the card. Here’s pictures of my new and, hopefully, improved card:

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz #169 challenge! For this challenge, Caz chose the theme of Spring Flowers for Mother’s Day in the UK. Mother’s Day in the U.S. isn’t until the third Sunday in May, so I went with spring flowers for Easter. I have used so much of the Hand-Penned DSP and bundle lately, so I am adding another one to the collection.
Here’s my spring flowers card:
I’ve had this DSP (designer series paper) for almost a year, and I’m just now really enjoying using it very often. Since Misty Moonlight is retiring with the new 2022-2023 catalog, this paper will be retiring as well.

Measurements:
I started with a Misty Moonlight base. I really, really love this color and am going to be so sad to see it go! The base measures 8-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The DSP background measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I also trimmed a piece of the DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
I cropped the Pale Papaya In-Color DSP mat on under the focal image using a die from the scalloped contours die set.
The white cardstock on the inside of the card measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
That’s it for the measurements. It really is a quick, but beautiful card since the DSP and stamp set do all the work.
What I Did:
Next, I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the Hand-Penned Flowers image on white cardstock. I could’ve used the coordinating stamps from the stamp set to color in the flowers and leaves, but I chose to use the Pale Payapa and Misty Moonlight blends to color them. Thankfully, this bundle comes with a coordinating die for the floral images so I didn’t have to fussy cut it.
Then, I stamped the sentiment using Misty Moonlight ink and cropped the sentiment using one of the stitched rectangle dies.
I wrapped a piece of the Pale Papaya ribbon around the DSP and tied it in a bow.
I decided that the Pale Papaya mat needed some sort of definition to it, so I used the blunt end of my Stamping Write marker to outline the stitches in the ditch. Then I adhered the mat using multipurpose liquid glue directly to the DSP and over the ribbon.
The floral focal image is popped up on dimensionals, as is the sentiment panel.
For the inside white cardstock panel, I stamped a sentiment. I also stamped a part of the same floral image. After I stamped part of the same image in the bottom corner of the envelope. I did use the coordinating flower stamps on both of these images.
Finally, I added three of the Misty Moonlight In Color enamel dots to the corners of the stitching in the Pale Papaya mat.
After trimming the DSP on the envelope flap and making an envelope seal, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

When I started looking for zoo and/or safari animals in my Stampin’ Up! stamp set collection, I found that I just might have to get myself some new stamp sets to go with this theme.
Here’s my card, which mixes old with new:
I’ve always loved this rhino from the retired Animal Outing stamp set. I paired it with a DSP (designer series paper) pattern from the Artfully Composed pack, from the current January – June mini catalog. I’ve almost used the whole pack and will have to order another pack very soon. As a matter of fact, I could order an animal stamp set with the DSP pack. Perfect!
Measurements and Such:
This card came together very quickly.
The Evening Evergreen base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches to form a tent card.
I didn’t try to measure and match up the DSP with the embossed cardstock. Therefore, the DSP measures 5-3/8 inches by 4-1/8 inches. I also trimmed a piece of the DSP to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches for the envelope flap.
Next, I embossed a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock using the bark 3D embossing folder. After I embossed the cardstock, I trimmed it to 5-3/8 inches by 1-3/4 inches.
HINT: Since this is a 3D embossing folder, meaning you will get a deep emboss, it is much easier to emboss first then trim. If you trim first, the cardstock will shrink up and you will be left with a too short embossed piece of cardstock.
Stamping, Coloring, Adhering, Oh My!
I stamped the rhino and bird in Momento tuxedo black ink, which enabled me to color it in using the Smoky Slate blends combo.
Then, I used the Just Jade and Mango Melody Stampin’ Write markers to color in the bird. The markers won’t bleed so for this little guy, I went with the markers.
Next, I outlined the rhino using a Basic Black marker.
The last thing I did for the rhino was to color in some “grass” using the light Old Olive blend.
Using a scalloped contour die, I cropped out my focal image.
I stamped the sentiment in Just Jade then used a stitched rectangle die to crop it out. I used the Mango Melody marker to outline the sentiment block, which pulled in the Mango Melody in the DSP.
After wrapping a piece of Just Jade ribbon around the DSP/cardstock layer, I adhered it to the base using multipurpose liquid glue. I popped the rhino panel and sentiment block up on dimensionals.
Finally, I adhered the 4 inch by 5-1/4 inch white cardstock to the inside of the card, trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap, and made the envelope seal. With that, this coordinated card set was complete.

I saw a card by Jean Heavrin posted on a Facebook group and she knows I CASE’d (Copy and Share Everything) her card. I changed a couple of things, and came up with this “something with wings” ladybug card:
Black, white, and red has been one of my very favorite combinations since way back when I was in 5th grade. I am thrilled with the way this card turned out!

Measurements and Such:
The Real Red card base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Buffalo check DSP, from the host DSP (designer series paper) 48 sheet pack Party Pattern, measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I also trimmed a piece of the checked DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
Next, I cropped the Read Red and Basic White cardstock pieces using the scalloped contours die set. I placed them on an angle in the corner and then trimmed where I needed.
The Hello Ladybug stamp set is just plain adorable. The ladybug punch makes assembling these little pieces of cuteness a snap. I stamped both bodies using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad. Then I stamped the wings in Real Red, and used the coordinating dot stamp in black. Easy.
HINT: I found it was easier to cut the stamped white cardstock body and wings apart before trying to punch them out.
Both ladybugs are popped up on dimensionals. Everything else is attached using multipurpose glue.
I stamped the greeting, also from the Hello Ladybug stamp set. Then, I added two red dots in the lower scalloped corners.
As per my usual, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. Then, I stamped birthday greetings from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set for the inside panel. Next, I stamped a different ladybug from the stamp set on the lower corner.
Finally, I stamped black dots on a piece of Real Red cardstock and punched out a 1 inch circle for the envelope seal.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
