Welcome to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 207. Our host for this time, Caz, chose leaves as the theme, which has a plethora of options. When you finish here, I invite you to visit the challenge site to see the projects from the rest of the design team members. We’d love to have you play along and upload your leaves project to the gallery.
Here’s my fern leaves card:
Measurements:
The Night of Navy card base measures 11 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
After embossing the white cardstock with the ferns 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
Trim another piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside panel.
The Sun Prints DSP (designer series paper) measures 4-3/4 by 3-1/2 inches.
Trim a coordinating piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. At the same time, punch a 1-inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal. Run the seal through your XYRON create-a-sticker.
I used a piece of scrap Night of Navy for the sentiment on the front.
What I Did:
Adhere the embossed white cardstock to the base using multipurpose liquid glue.
Adhere the front DSP to the embossed white cardstock with liquid glue.
Use your embossing buddy on the scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
Stamp the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set using VersaMark ink.
Cover the ink with white embossing powder and heat set with your heat tool.
Crop the sentiment using the corresponding Sentiment Silhouette die.
Add dimensionals under the sentiment and adhere to the front of the card.
Randomly add three gold butterflies to the front surrounding the sentiment.
Using the Nature Prints stamp set, stamp the fern leaves in the bottom, right-hand corner of the white cardstock. In order to achieve the trio of leaves, stamp the first time, then pivot the stamp for the second leaf and pivot again for the third leaf. (If you are a fan of Friends, you know what made me smile about “pivot”,)
Adhere the white cardstock to the inside of the card.
I also stamped this trio on the bottom, left-hand corner on the front of the envelope.
With that, I’d finished this quick coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Welcome to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz #206 challenge. I have the honor of being the host for this edition, and I chose cute animals or insects. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the creations from the rest of the design team members. We can’t wait for you to play along with us and post your creations to the challenge gallery!
Here’s my cute animal card:
As you know, I thoroughly enjoy playing along with Try Stampin’ – or not- on Tuesday. TSOT # 620 is also featured on the Double Trouble challenge #145 with the theme of GORP (basically combining different patterns and textures). I’ll be adding this little bird in each challenge.
Here are the challenge banners:
Measurements:
The Pretty Peacock base measures 11-1/2 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to form a tent card.
Trim a piece of Pretty Peacock 6 x 6 inch DSP (designer series paper) to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the background..
At this time, trim a piece of the Pretty Peacock DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
The Sweet Sorbet DSP layer measures 2-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches.
Punch a 1-inch circle from the Sweet Sorbet DSP for the envelope seal.
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 2-1/8 by 3-1/2 inches for the first layer under the bird.
The striped Pretty Peacock DSP measures 2 by 3-1/4 inches.
After embossing a piece of white cardstock using the Cheery Patterns embossing folder (from the soon-to-be released holiday mini-catalog), I trimmed it to 3-2/8 by 1-7/8 inches.
HINT: Do your stamping before you emboss the white cardstock. Trust me.
I used white cardstock scraps for the bird and sentiment rectangle.
Stamping and Assembly:
Stamp the branch using Pebbled Path on the white cardstock piece.
Stamp the leaves using Pretty Peacock ink.
The bird’s feet and the music notes are stamped using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
After stamping the bird using Sweet Sorbet ink on a scrap of white cardstock, I punched it out with the bird builder punch. I also punched her wing from Sweet Sorbet DSP and the beak from Daffodil Delight cardstock.
Thankfully, the Sweet Songbirds stamp set includes a stamp for the eyes, which I stamped in Tuxedo Black. I tried, and failed, to add white gel pen ink to a tiny spot in each eye. Instead of being a cute highlight, it turned into something creepy. Therefore, I had to repeat the bird building process for another try.
I stamped the wood pattern stamp using Pebbled Path ink on a scrap of white cardstock.
After using my embossing buddy on the stamped area, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink. Then add white embossing powder to the VersaMark ink and heat set.
I repeated the stamping process using the little bird on the inside piece of white cardstock.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the layers of DSP and cardstock because the layers would be thick enough.
Then, I added mini-dimensionals to the back of the bird and to the bottom of the sentiment rectangle to adhere the pieces to the white embossed panel. I needed to add a couple of dots of liquid glue to the top part of the sentiment rectangle.
When I finished this card, I’d completed this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Welcome to the latest Cardz 4 Galz bi-weekly challenge. Our host for #205, Caz, chose a summer day for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site and see the cards from the rest of the design team members. There’s plenty of inspiration in the projects created for this challenge. We all look forward to seeing your interpretation of the challenge theme in our gallery.
Let me start by saying that I live in Central Florida. I know many places have brutal weather and other issues. We have had 100+ degree temps, and with the heat index, it’s felt like more than 110 degrees. On top of that, our kiddos came back to school today and going from class to class on an open campus is not fun at all.
That being said, I created this summer card for a friend and his wife, who has been sick and in the hospital. I hope this card brings a smile and more to these two wonderful people!
Here’s my card:
Daisies and Black-eyed Susan flowers are some of my favorite flowers. Combining this DSP (designer series paper) and these cheerful daisies seemed especially appropriate for this card.
Measurements:
The Garden Green base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I used a Crushed Curry mat which measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The DSP on the front measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches. I also trimmed a piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
Next, I punched a 1-inch circle from the same DSP scraps that I used for the center of the die-cut daisies.
For the inside of the card, I trimmed 2 pieces of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches and adhered each piece to the inside of the base. There will be 11 people sending get well wishes so I needed both pieces of white cardstock.
I cropped the daisies layers from white cardstock using the Cheerful Daisies dies.
Then, I cropped the daisy centers from brights 6 x 6 inch DSP scraps. I outlined the centers using an Early Espresso Stamping Write Marker.
Crop just the leaves from a scrap piece of Garden Green 6 x 6 inch DSP.
Finally, I cropped the large sentiment banner using the Deckled Rectangle dies.
Putting the Card Together:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together.
Since I didn’t need to stamp an inside sentiment, I adhered the 2 pieces of white cardstock to the inside of the base.
Adhere the daisy DSP to the Crushed Curry mat.
Wrap a length of Garden Green ribbon around the mat/DSP layer and tie a bow.
Add a glue dot under the bow to keep it in place.
Adhere the mat/DSP piece to the base of the card.
Adhere the top white cardstock layers of the daisies to the base of the daisies.
Adhere the centers of the daisies at this point as well.
Trim the Garden Green leaves so you just have those pieces and adhere to the white cardstock leaves.
I had the Crushed Curry circle already cropped and in my 8 x 8 page protector of Crushed Curry scraps. Adhere it to the DSP so the largest, and focal, daisy will lay on this “mat”
I used dimensionals under the daisies and the leaves.
Adhere the daisies to the DSP on the front.
Stamp the sentiment from the Good Feelings stamp set using Early Espresso ink.
Carefully add dimensionals to the base of the sentiment panel. You don’t want your dimensionals on the sentiment panel to overlap those on the daisies.
It’s difficult to see, but I did outline the sentiment panel using my Early Espresso marker.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Welcome to the 204th Cardz 4 Galz biweekly challenge! Our host, Pamela, chose P is for ….. as the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the creations from the rest of the design team members. There’s loads of inspiration, and we would love to see your creations in our gallery.
This past school year I had to make a number of sympathy cards, which are always so personal and difficult. After making one of them, I decided to just make one to have on hand if needed. I’ve kept this peony DSP (designer series paper) just for these cards, even though the paper retired a couple of years ago. However, the layout of the card is a basic one and this card came together quickly.
Here’s my clean and simple P is for ….. Peony card:
Making This Card:
The Gray Granite base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
Trim the background DSP to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The Petal Pink Peony DSP measures 2-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
I trimmed the gray peony DSP to 5 by 2-1/4 inches.
After using my embossing buddy I stamped the sentiment on the 2 inch square with VersaMark ink.
Then, I covered the sentiment with silver embossing powder and heat set it.
The only dimensionals I used were placed under the sentiment square.
After using multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the three pieces of DSP, I wrapped a piece of Petal Pink ribbon around the long side of the card and tied it in a bow.
After trimming a piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap, I punched a 1-inch circle of coordinating DSP for the envelope seal.
After running the seal through my XYRON create-a-sticker, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Welcome to the new Cardz 4 Galz bi-weekly challenge #203 for today, July 13, 2023. Our host for this time, Debbie, chose cats or kittens for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team created. There’s also a call for new design team members or guest designers for a month (2 challenges). If you are interested, you can find the information there.
Here’s my cat card:
Any time I see this cat, I always want to use this sentiment. Can’t you just hear the sarcasm just looking at him?
While I used the Pampered Pets stamps and DSP, the format of this card appears to be more involved than it really is. You can use this layout for any card using any supplies.
I have a challenge for you – I just saw that I made a mistake when putting this card together. Can you find it? You might not see it, but once you do, you can’t unsee it.
Measurements:
Trim Pebbled Path, one of the new In Colors, cardstock to 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, and score at 4-1/4 inches.
Trim a piece of Real Red cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
Trim two pieces of coordinating DSP to 3-1/2 by 4-1/2 inches.
Trim a piece of DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
Punch a 1-inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal and run it through the XYRON create-a-sticker.
Crop a piece of Real Red cardstock using one of the Deckled Rectangle dies. I actually cropped this out of the Real Red background. No one will see the ugly underneath.
Fussy cut the cat.
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.
Assembly:
Use multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the Real Red cardstock to the base of the card.
Use liquid glue to adhere the DSP pieces on angles going in opposite directions. I prefer to have the top piece angling to the top right of the card because it draws your eyes across the card.
Use your embossing buddy to wipe down the red cardstock for the front panel.
Stamp the sentiment using Versamark ink.
Cover the sentiment with white embossing powder and heat set it.
Add dimensionals under the cat and adhere him to the top part of the red cardstock.
Tie a tiny bow of Real Red ribbon and adhere to the cat using a glue dot. I was having a real bow-challenged issue with this tiny bow, but it all worked out.
I don’t know what sentiment I am going to use on the inside of the card yet. It will depend on the recipient and the situation. Therefore, I used some of the removable adhesive to hold it in place for the time being.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal.
Welcome to the new Cardz 4 Galz bi-weekly challenge #202 for today, June 29, 2023. Our host for this time, Helen, chose fun folds for the theme. If you haven’t noticed, I love fun folds! When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team created. There’s also a call for new design team members or guest designers for a month (2 challenges). If you are interested, you can find the information there.
I’ll be entering this one in the Creative Creases challenges as well.
Here;s my tri-fold birthday card for my great-niece’s 7th birthday:
I used Debbie Henderson’s video for all the measurements for this card. She used the Countryside Inn suite of products. I used the Bright and Beautiful suite of products along with the deckled rectangle die set. But I, did use her measurements. The only thing I have to do is get the gift card for her present. I will add a pocket on the back of the third panel when I get the card.
NOTE: This card will fit inside a medium white Stampin’ Up! envelope. However, for mailing in the U.S., it will require additional postage (2 stamps will work) in order to be mailed.
Putting the Card Together:
The Bright and Beautiful DSP (designer series paper) is adhered with multipurpose liquid glue, as are the two deckled rectangle pieces.
Add dimensionals under all the balloons and decide where your strings need to be stamped BEFORE you adhere the balloons together.
HINT: I first cropped out the trio of balloons from the die set in black cardstock. That allowed me to adhere the balloons without having to figure out where to place each balloon.
I used the clear Wink of Stella pen to outline the balloons to make the edges more definitive.
Stamp the birthday sentiment using Momento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Bright and Beautiful DSP. Crop using the sentiment label die from the Bright and Beautiful die set.
Outline the die cut using a Basic Black marker.
Adhere a piece of the adhesive foam sheets to a piece of black cardstock.
Crop the black cardstock using the same label die.
Use multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the sentiment DSP panel to the blackcardstock.
Peel off the backing on the adhesive sheet and adhere it to the middle panel of the card.
Use baker’s twine to tie a bow through the hole at the top of the sentiment panel.
I stamped the sentiments on the deckled rectangle pieces using Misty Moonlight after I adhered the balloons.
Trim a piece of Bright and Beautiful DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
Punch another piece of DSP using your 1-inch circle punch for the envelope seal.
