Perfectly Pears for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #680

Welcome to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #680! It’s Team B’s turn, and we are happy to share our projects using the sketch.

Please check out the challenge’s page for the creations by the other very talented design team members. When you’ve created your own card for our challenge, please don’t forget to upload them to our gallery. We’d love for you to play along.

Here’s my card:

Here’s the AHSC #680 sketch:

White the Perfectly Pears products are recently retired, I hope you can find some inspiration in my project.

Measurements:

  • Trim the Secret Sea baes to 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches
  • Trim a piece of Petal Pink cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • If you are using a directional pattern piece of DSP (designer series paper) 5-3/8 inches high, trim it to 7/8″ , 1-7/8″, and 7/8″
  • Trim 6 pieces of coordinating DSP to 7/8 by 1-1/4 inches for the side pieces
  • Trim another piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • Punch a 1-inch circle of coordinating cardstock and run it through the XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
  • Trim a piece of DSP to 3/4 by 4 inches for the inside of the card
  • Crop a piece of Petal Pink cardstock using one of the Nested Essentials dies
  • Use scraps for the sentiment banner
  • Since I used the Perfectly Pears DSP, I used the dies to crop the pears and leaves from the DSP
  • Crop two sets of leafs/branches from scraps of Mossy Meadow cardstock
  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card

What I Did:

  • Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
  • Adhere the Petal Pink cardstock to the base of the card
  • Space the three strips of DSP and adhere them to the Petal Pink mat
  • Adhere the 6 pieces of the coordinating DSP to the outside strips of DSP
  • Use a length of ribbon to create a loopy loop and adhere it together and to the front of the card using glue dots
    • Directions for the loopy loop below
  • Stamp flower from the Perfectly Pears stamp set on the Petal Pink cropped piece using the same color ink
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the Petal Pink cardstock making sure to have them straddle the loopy loop bow and adhere to the front of the card
  • Adhere the leaves/branches to the piece of Petal Pink cardstock
  • Then adhere the pears
  • Stamp the sentiment using Secret Sea ink and crop using one of the Stylish Shapes dies
  • Add dimensionals behind the cropped sentiment and adhere
  • Stamp the inside sentiment using Secret Sea ink and adhere to the inside of the card
  • Adhere the strip of DSP to the inside bottom of the card

With that, I finished with coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Loopy Loop Bow:

I was able to watch Mary Deatherage’s, from Stamps -n- Lingers, Perfectly Pears tutorial. In that video, she showed her loopy-loop bow. That’s what I used for the front of my card. I’m bow-challenged and this technique allows me to relatively easily add ribbon without adding the bulk of a tied bow. If you’ve never seen her videos, you owe it to yourself to watch them. I think she’s the Queen of the Collage. Gorgeous cards!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a Peachy Day!
