Welcome to Make My Monday # 162! Dawn is hosting this bi-weekly challenge and has chosen the theme of Cute Christmas. When you are done here, I hope you will hop over to the blog and check out all the inspiration from the design team!
Here’s my fun fold card:
Basically, this is a smaller tent fold card inside a bottom flap card. I spent a bit of time on Pinterest looking for an easy fun fold card. when I found this one from Mary Deatherage at Stamps-n-Lingers. I followed all her directions for sizes and folds.
What I Did:
Mary’s videos are always filled with tips and this one is no exception because she shows how to make the beautiful hydrangea she used on the front.
For mine, all the DSP, with the exception of the Bumblebee 6×6 inch DSP on the front, comes from the Sweet Stockings 12 x 12 DSP (designer series paper). My favorite pattern from this pack has to be the Christmas lights pattern.
I cropped the golden retriever using the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes die set.
The sentiments both come from the Greatest Part of Christmas host set from last year. However, any fun sentiment you have would definitely work. For some strange and unknown reason, I didn’t get this whole suite, but I should’ve done so. I stamped both the front and inside sentiments in Cherry Cobbler.
I used a label die from the Painted Labels set to crop the front sentiment. It fit perfectly inside the label die and I thought it added a bit of fun.
The suite also contains a Pool Party striped grosgrain ribbon that I did purchase and wanted to use! I searched for the roll of ribbon and couldn’t find it so I went with the sheer Pool Party ribbon. Of course-, I found the roll of the striped ribbon as soon as I posted this card to the blog design team site. Of course that means I need to create a card with the grosgrain ribbon ASAP.
A Second Card:
Actually, as soon as I typed that last sentence I thought I should just make the card. So, in the middle of getting this post together, I stopped and made a tent card.
Here’s the tent card:
I used the same DSP patterns, and sentiments inside and out. The biggest difference is that I used the ribbon that is a part of this suite. I could’ve easily completed this card in 15 minutes if I didn’t have so much trouble with the ribbon. It took me longer to tie a decent bow than it did to put everything else together..
After I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flaps, and punched/XYRON-ed two DSP circles for seals, I’d finished this two card set of coordinated cards/envelopes/and seals.

Here’s my card:
I’ll admit, this one had me stumped for a couple of weeks. I couldn’t decide what to do. I finally just started going through my DSP (designer series paper) stash and found this cabin pattern from the Peaceful Place DSP. When I looked at the reverse side of the paper, my thoughts came together and I started working on my card.
Measurements and Such:
The Basic Gray base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I started with a 4-1/4 inch by 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock for the background. After running it through the Cut and Emboss machine using the Wintry 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it down to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
I started with a 4-1/8 inch by 5 inch piece of DSP. In order to achieve a “shabby” look, I tore the cabin DSP starting about 2-1/2 inches from the 5-3/8 inch side.
Then, I tore another piece so I could use the reverse side of the paper.
Next, I used the Basic Gray ink pad and added ink to the all the sides of the DSP and cardstock that would show. I wasn’t neat about it at all because I wanted the variations to add to the shabby chic look.
After I layered the two pieces of DSP on the embossed white cardstock, I wrapped a piece of the black glittered organdy ribbon around the cabin side of the card. I tied it in a simple square knot because I thought it would work with the look I was trying to achieve.
Next, I stamped “Merry Christmas” using my very favorite Christmas sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set using Basic Gray ink. I quickly added some clear embossing powder to the sentiment and then heat set it. The embossing powder wasn’t an even layer, but I kind of like the shabby look of it.
I used the multipurpose liquid glue to adhere one of the Wonderful Snowflakes to the DSP. Then, I added dimensionals under the sentiment and adhered it down.
Finishing Touches:
I trimmed a piece of the cabin DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap, which I adhered and trimmed. Since I needed a circular seal for the envelope, I punched a 1 inch circle from the DSP and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker maker. The cabin DSP is on the envelope flap and the randomly sparkly DSP is for the envelope seal. Matchy-matchy.
Next, I used the largest snowflake from Merry Snowflakes and stamped three partial snowflakes on the edges of the front of the envelope using a stamped-off Basic Gray image.
The white cardstock for the inside panel measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. I also stamped three partial snowflakes on the edges of this cardstock.
Finally, I used one of the sentiments from Merry Snowflakes and stamped it in Basic Gray on the inside panel.
After adhering the inside down using multipurpose liquid adhesive, I’d finished this card/envelope/envelope seal coordinated set.

Welcome back to another Make My Monday challenge! Caz chose the theme of (es)cape for #160. I hope you will hop over the the challenge blog and check out the wide variety of cards from the other design team members! What kind of (e)scape will you create! Post your project to the blog at Make My Monday for all to see.
My card is a double (es)cape card. I created a land(scape) Christmas shaker card because I would love to e(scape) to see a white Christmas this year.
Here’s my card:
Measurements:
The Night of Navy card base measures 8-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches to create a tent fold card.
The DSP (designer series paper) for the front of the card comes from the Beauty of the Earth DSP pack. This piece measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
I used another DSP pattern from Beauty of the Earth for the envelope flap. This piece measures 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
The white cardstock for the front of the shaker card measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
The white cardstock for the inside panel of the card measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I stamped the sentiment for the outside on scrap white cardstock. Then, I cropped it using a stitched rectangle die.
How I Made the Card:
I made a video while creating the second version of this card. I thought that would be easier than trying to explain the process of making the shaker part of the card.
Please “like” the video if you do. If you subscribe to my channel, which is brand new, you will be notified of future videos. My goal is to create one a week for starters. Thank you!

Welcome to another Make My Monday challenge! For this two week challenge, Caz chose the theme of outdoor sports. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and check out all the other projects by the design team members.
Here’s my card:
Penguins sliding down hills counts as outdoor sports, right? I think so!
For this card, I used the Playful Penguins bundle now available in the mini-catalog. Aren’t they adorable? I also used a piece of the penguins DSP from the recent Sale-a-bration catalog for the background. I cropped the DSP (designer series paper) and the Soft Seafoam border using the diaroma die set. The white cardstock also got a bit of texture by way of the Subtles 3D embossing folder. I cropped the curved “snow” drifts using the Curvy Christmas die set. To finish the whole thing off, I add some of the current sequins and a piece of the shimmery ribbon.
I know this isn’t my normal type of blog post. However, I am in northern California visiting my daughter and I forgot to do this blog post before I left home. So, for now, this is it. The view of a mountain out her back wall of windows is stunning! Since it’s dark, the lights from the homes built on the mountainside are beautiful! Florida is so FLAT, and humid. There’s foothills, mountains, and no. humidity here. It’s wonderful!
Thanks for stopping by my (very short and uncharacteristic) blog today!
Welcome to the Make My Monday challenge #157. Pamela chose an autumn/fall theme for the challenge starting today, September 13, 2021. I’ve seen the design team projects and they are phenomenal! I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created. We all look forward to seeing what you create posted in our gallery!
Here’s my card:
When I first chose this DSP (designer series paper), I thought that I might just let the DSP do all the work. I pulled out some Misty Moonlight, Merry Merlot, and Cinnamon Cider cardstock just to play around with the colors and DSP. I knew I needed a “Thinking of You” card, and when I started looking for sentiments that would match what I wanted to do, I came across the Nature’s Harvest stamp set. While I knew I wouldn’t be using any of those sentiments, I thought I could use the dies. With that, finding a layout that worked just fell into place.
Measurements:
I chose Cinnamon Cider for the base. It measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Misty Moonlight base measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. You can’t see it, but I cropped the wheat kind of die diagonally from this mat.
The DSP top layer measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. I also cut a piece of DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
The white cardstock for the inside panel measures 5-1/4 inches by 4 inches.
The Cinnamon Cider and Merry Merlot stalks were cropped from scraps. I also cropped the sentiment panel and Misty Moonlight mat from scraps.
What I Did:
First, I adhered the DSP to the Misty Moonlight mat.
Then, I started working on the bow using Early Espresso faux suede trim. I don’t put any adhesive down to hold ribbon in place when I am trying to create a bow. Since I am bow-challenged about 50% of the time. Maybe it’s because I am left-handed, but my bows wind up coming out upside down, so I need to be able to take the ribbon off and turn it around. I know I should just tie it starting from the upside down position, but that doesn’t seem to work for me. This time, I tied a pretty decent bow on the third try. Yeah, me!
I used liquid adhesive to adhere all three stalks on the DSP, slipping them under the ribbon one at a time.
Next, I stamped the sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, on a scrap of white cardstock in Merry Merlot. Then, I cropped the sentiment using a stitched rectangle die.
The Misty Moonlight sentiment mat was trimmed to size. I used dimensionals under the sentiment, but adhered the mat directly to the DSP. I also put dimensionals under the Misty Moonlight mat under the DSP to accomodate the width of the faux suede ribbon.
The Inside:
Here’s the inside of the card:
This sentiment comes from the In Your Words host set. It’s a beautiful sentiment, isn’t it? I stamped it in Merry Merlot.
Those five little, tiny white stars come from the Frightfully Cute die set. I had no idea what that die was supposed to match, so I tested it on a scrap of white cardstock. Adhering them was a bit tricky. First, I put a drop of glue on a dimensional cover, only because it was sitting on my desk Using my opposable tweezers, I was able to just touch the star into the glue and then adhere it to the inside of the card. Those stars are really, really tiny, but they fit so well with this sentiment.
Finally, it was time to finish up. I adhered and trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap. Then, I punched a 1 inch circle from coordinating DSP and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker for an envelope seal.
With that, this coordinated card/envelope/seal set was done.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this card.

Welcome to the Make My Monday challenge #156. I am hosting this challenge and chose a Fun Fold theme for the challenge starting today, August 30, 2021. We all look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery!
I needed a special thank you card using black and gold with “hornets.” (Yes, I know these are bees, but I am taking creative license, so hornets they are.)
Here’s the front of my card:
Now for the WOW! part of this card:
The Video Makes It Easier Than It Looks!
Please don’t be intimidated when you see my card! I used a video tutorial from Connie Stewart for this fold. If you’ve seen any of her videos, you already know she loves quick cards that really WOW the recipient. This card is the same kind of card ~ truly! You will know how relatively easy it was when you follow along with the video. I’d suggest watching the 13 minute video first. Then you can go back and follow the directions for the measurements, which I’ve also included below:
Gold foil backing piece measures 4-1/4 inches by 5-1/2 inches
Black cardstock pieces:
Base measures 5-1/4 inches by 11 inches. Score at 1-3/4 inches, 3-1/2 inches, 5-1/4 inches, and 7 inches.
DSP (designer series paper): if you follow the video, you will see Connie starts with a 6 x 6 inch piece of DSP. She will walk you through the cuts needed. When you are finished, you will have:
2 @ 1-1/2 inches by 5 inches,
2 @ 1/2 x 3-3/4 inches,
4@ 1-1/4 by 2-1/4 inches
1@ 1-1/2 inches by 2 inches (I used the gold polka dot DSP)
I used the gold polka-dot DSP for the front sentiment panel base. This piece measures 2-1/2 inches x 2-1/2 inches.
The white cardstock pieces:
2-14 inches by 2-1/4 inches
5 inches by 7-1/2 inches, scored at 3-3/4 inches.
Assembly:
After all the pieces are cut, you simply assemble. I found the assembly just fell into place because I had everything precut.
I used the Golden Honey DSP, gold foil specialty DSP, and the Bees dies for the accents.
The Peaceful Moments stamp set provided the first two sentiments. Both sentiments inside the white cardstock come from the Best Year cling stamp set.
Please do try this! Connie Stewart’s video really walks you through it step-by-step. I know I will use this fun fold again and again. It’s fabulous!
After you try this, please don’t forget to upload it to the Make My Monday challenge blog! This card also qualifies for the Creative Creases challenge, so post it there as well. I can’t wait to see your creations in both challenges!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this card.
