Welcome to the newest Make My Monday challenge, #169. Claudia picked the theme of food and drinks for this challenge. When you finish here, I hope you visit the challenge page to see all the other projects from the design team members. There’s always a wide variety of projects, and inspiration can be found in each one.
Here’s my food and drinks card:
What I Did:
The Early Espresso base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Pool Party cardstock layer measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
Each of the DSP slanted pieces measures 5 inches by 3-3/4 inches. I outlined the Pool Party DSP with Early Espresso ink so it didn’t blend into the cardstock.
While I had the DSP out, I trimmed a piece of the Early Espresso DSP to 6 inches by 2 inches for the envelope flap.
After stamping the sentiment in Early Espresso, I cropped it using a die from the scalloped contours die set. Then, I cut an Early Espresso mat for it.
I used some of the foam adhesive sheets on Early Espresso and cropped both words using the Love You More dies.
The coffee cup and the cookies were also stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and cropped using the Love You More dies. I stamped the coffee cup steam and cookies directly on the DSP.
I adhered everything using multipurpose glue, except for the coffee cup and one of the cookies. For those, I used dimensionals.

Welcome to a Valentine’s Day Make My Monday challenge! Billie A. chose using three hearts as the theme for this two-week challenge. When you are finished here, I hope you will hop over to the challenge site to see all the inspirational cards the team created!
Here’s my three hearts card:
Even though it doesn’t photograph well, here’s a close-up of the Wink of Stella I used on the purple hearts dies and the outline of the focal panel:
Measurements and Assembly:
The Highland Heather card base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
The hearts DSP (designer series paper) started out as a 2-7/8 x 5-3/8 inches rectangle. I used the paper trimmer to cut it diagonally. Originally, this dsp started out as one of a set of 15 Valentine’s Day cards I made for my 4 year-old great-niece to exchange at PK today.
The Highland Heather DSP measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
I trimmed a coordinating piece of the Valentine’s dsp to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
After I cropped the Real Red cardstock for the focal panel it now measures 4-3/8 inches by 2-3/8 inches.
Somewhere along the line I purchased a Stampin’ Up! photopolymer stamp set for Valentine’s Day, from which I used the “LOVE” sentiment.
Next, I used the Stamparatus to double heat emboss the sentiment in white.
Then, I colored in the LOVE using the Real Red marker.
In order to meet the challenge theme, I cropped two groups of three hearts for the opposite diagonal sides of the hearts DSP. Before I adhered the hearts, I colored them with the Clear Wink of Stella.
Then, I decided the Real Red cardstock needed some sparkle, so I outlined it with Wink of Stella.
I used sentiment stamps from Sweet Conversations in Real Red and Highland Heather for the inside of the card. The inside panel measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
Finally, I used dimensionals under both the Highland Heather DSP to attach it to the card base. I also added dimensionals under the focal LOVE panel. All the other elements were attached using multipurpose glue.

Welcome to another Make My Monday challenge! It’s my turn to pick the theme, and I picked Winter, Wherever You Are. Since I live in Florida, my winters are drastically different than winters other people experience. When you are finished here, I hope you hop over to the challenge blog to see the creations for the rest of the design team.
Here’s my card:
While this card doesn’t look like a Florida winter, for one thing there are mountains. Florida is flat with a few raised areas, not even high enough to be called a true hill. Just plain flat. However, my step-daughter lives in Alaska, and the colors and landscape in this DSP (designer series paper) just looks like Alaska to me.
Paper Funday Challenge monthly blog is a new-to-me challenge. For January, the theme is Anything Goes with an Optional Twist: Winter Landscapes
Measurements:
The Blackberry Bliss base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to form a tent card.
I used a Misty Moonlight mat for the DSP, and it measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
The DSP measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the outside. The strip on the inside measure 1/2 inch by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed a coordinating piece of DSP for the envelope flap to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Finally, the white cardstock for the inside panel measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
A Simple, But Beautiful Card:
After picking the DSP and cardstock for this card, I struggle with figuring out what stamp set and embellishments I would use. I wanted to DSP to be the main focus of the card, so I looked through my stamps for a simple, but beautiful font and sentiment. This sentiment, from Heal Your Heart (August 2021 Sale-a-Bration) fit perfectly. Then, I decided no further embellishments were needed. I just let the DSP do all the work on this card.
First, I used my embossing buddy on the DSP to prepare it for the ink and clear Versamark powder. The sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight, then covered in clear embossing powder, which I heat set.
HINT: I completely forgot to do this, but when using an inkpad, it’s better to use the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment. If I’d used the Stamparatus, I would’ve been able to restamp a second layer of ink and clear embossing powder. Once heat set, the resulting embossed sentiment would’ve been much more obvious.
Next, I used the brush end of a Basic Black marker to outline the edges of the DSP.
Then, I used multipurpose glue to adhere the DSP to the cardstock.
I did want some dimension for the card so I used black dimensionals to pop up the matted DSP.
After adhering the 1/2 inch strip of DSP to the white cardstock, I stamped the inside sentiment in Misty Moonlight.
Then I used multipurpose glue to adhere the cardstock to the inside of the card.
Next, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap, I punched a 1 inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal.
After running the punched circle through the XYRON create-a-sticker, I’d finished this coordinated card/envelope/seal set.
Close-up of the DSP pack:
This stunning New Horizons DSP pack is in the new January – June mini catalog. Here’s a close-up of the whole pack of these stunning watercolored landscapes:
So incredibly beautiful! The pictures don’t really do it justice. It’s truly stunning!
Welcome to MMM # 163. Debbie chose the theme of gift card holders for the last challenge before the end of the year. MMM will be on a break for the December 20, 2021 challenge. When you are finished here, I hope you hop over to the challenge blog and see all the varied and very inspirational gift card holders!
Here’s my card:
If you’ve ever made a z-fold card, you can totally do this. Even if you haven’t made a z-fold card, you can totally do this! I really would rather not just give a person a gift card in a standard A2 card. Making a special gift card holder just makes the simple, but very much appreciated, gift all the more meaningful. I used the retired Seaside Spray cardstock and ribbon, along with the current Peaceful Place DSP. For inspiration, I used one of Patty Bennett’s pins on Pinterest. You can find her blog post and video here.
As you can see from her video, it’s just a matter of trimming two pieces of cardstock and scoring one of them.
What I Did to Create My Card:
I used Seaside Spray for the base of the card and the z-fold section.
Next, I trimmed a piece of the snowflake DSP to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches and adhered it to the Seaside Spray cardstock.
Before I went any further, I grabbed my repositionable tape runner so I could dry-fit all the pieces.
Then, I matted the z-fold with a piece of silver foil.
I carefully trimmed down pieces of the Peaceful Place DSP so I had just the Christmas trees for the two outside and two inside z-fold panels. At this point, I also trimmed a piece to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
To create the pocket for the gift card on the inside panel, I simply trimmed that piece of the DSP 1-3/4 inches up from the bottom then adhered the pieces up against each other. This way, I still have the gorgeous DSP when the gift card is removed.
The sentiment on the very front is stamped in Seaside Spray and immediately covered with clear embossing powder, then heat set. The front sentiment and the sentiments on the outside two panels are from the October Paper Pumpkin kit. However, you can use any sentiment that will fit where you want it to live.
The very inside sentiment comes from the Merry Snowflakes stamp set. The trees, stamped in silver, come from the October Paper Pumpkin kit.
I needed to have a way to keep the fold closed. Therefore, I figured out where I needed the ribbon to tie in front so the sentiment wasn’t covered. I used a piece of tear-n-tape to adhere the ribbon to the snowflake DSP, then placed the silver-matted z-fold on top of the ribbon. I didn’t want to use dimensionals under the silver mat because the card already has bulk to it. Since I wanted the card to fit in a medium envelope, but needed the whole z-fold section to stay in place, I used three strips of tear-n-tape to adhere the silver foil to the DSP.
Finally, I added 8 basic rhinestone jewels randomly to the bottom layer of DSP. The 9th rhinestone lives right below the front sentiment.
With that, I had completed this gift card holder. It’s a basic z-fold, but easy enough to mass produce for my nieces and nephews.

Welcome to Make My Monday # 162! Dawn is hosting this bi-weekly challenge and has chosen the theme of Cute Christmas. When you are done here, I hope you will hop over to the blog and check out all the inspiration from the design team!
Here’s my fun fold card:
Basically, this is a smaller tent fold card inside a bottom flap card. I spent a bit of time on Pinterest looking for an easy fun fold card. when I found this one from Mary Deatherage at Stamps-n-Lingers. I followed all her directions for sizes and folds.
What I Did:
Mary’s videos are always filled with tips and this one is no exception because she shows how to make the beautiful hydrangea she used on the front.
For mine, all the DSP, with the exception of the Bumblebee 6×6 inch DSP on the front, comes from the Sweet Stockings 12 x 12 DSP (designer series paper). My favorite pattern from this pack has to be the Christmas lights pattern.
I cropped the golden retriever using the largest square die in the Stitched Shapes die set.
The sentiments both come from the Greatest Part of Christmas host set from last year. However, any fun sentiment you have would definitely work. For some strange and unknown reason, I didn’t get this whole suite, but I should’ve done so. I stamped both the front and inside sentiments in Cherry Cobbler.
I used a label die from the Painted Labels set to crop the front sentiment. It fit perfectly inside the label die and I thought it added a bit of fun.
The suite also contains a Pool Party striped grosgrain ribbon that I did purchase and wanted to use! I searched for the roll of ribbon and couldn’t find it so I went with the sheer Pool Party ribbon. Of course-, I found the roll of the striped ribbon as soon as I posted this card to the blog design team site. Of course that means I need to create a card with the grosgrain ribbon ASAP.
A Second Card:
Actually, as soon as I typed that last sentence I thought I should just make the card. So, in the middle of getting this post together, I stopped and made a tent card.
Here’s the tent card:
I used the same DSP patterns, and sentiments inside and out. The biggest difference is that I used the ribbon that is a part of this suite. I could’ve easily completed this card in 15 minutes if I didn’t have so much trouble with the ribbon. It took me longer to tie a decent bow than it did to put everything else together..
After I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flaps, and punched/XYRON-ed two DSP circles for seals, I’d finished this two card set of coordinated cards/envelopes/and seals.

Welcome to the Make My Monday #161 challenge! Meg chose shabby chic or vintage for this two-week challenge. When you are finished here, I hope you will hop over to the challenge blog to see all the creations by the design team members. They are all gorgeous!
Here’s my card:
I’ll admit, this one had me stumped for a couple of weeks. I couldn’t decide what to do. I finally just started going through my DSP (designer series paper) stash and found this cabin pattern from the Peaceful Place DSP. When I looked at the reverse side of the paper, my thoughts came together and I started working on my card.
Measurements and Such:
The Basic Gray base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I started with a 4-1/4 inch by 5-1/2 inch piece of white cardstock for the background. After running it through the Cut and Emboss machine using the Wintry 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it down to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
I started with a 4-1/8 inch by 5 inch piece of DSP. In order to achieve a “shabby” look, I tore the cabin DSP starting about 2-1/2 inches from the 5-3/8 inch side.
Then, I tore another piece so I could use the reverse side of the paper.
Next, I used the Basic Gray ink pad and added ink to the all the sides of the DSP and cardstock that would show. I wasn’t neat about it at all because I wanted the variations to add to the shabby chic look.
After I layered the two pieces of DSP on the embossed white cardstock, I wrapped a piece of the black glittered organdy ribbon around the cabin side of the card. I tied it in a simple square knot because I thought it would work with the look I was trying to achieve.
Next, I stamped “Merry Christmas” using my very favorite Christmas sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set using Basic Gray ink. I quickly added some clear embossing powder to the sentiment and then heat set it. The embossing powder wasn’t an even layer, but I kind of like the shabby look of it.
I used the multipurpose liquid glue to adhere one of the Wonderful Snowflakes to the DSP. Then, I added dimensionals under the sentiment and adhered it down.
Finishing Touches:
I trimmed a piece of the cabin DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap, which I adhered and trimmed. Since I needed a circular seal for the envelope, I punched a 1 inch circle from the DSP and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker maker. The cabin DSP is on the envelope flap and the randomly sparkly DSP is for the envelope seal. Matchy-matchy.
Next, I used the largest snowflake from Merry Snowflakes and stamped three partial snowflakes on the edges of the front of the envelope using a stamped-off Basic Gray image.
The white cardstock for the inside panel measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. I also stamped three partial snowflakes on the edges of this cardstock.
Finally, I used one of the sentiments from Merry Snowflakes and stamped it in Basic Gray on the inside panel.
After adhering the inside down using multipurpose liquid adhesive, I’d finished this card/envelope/envelope seal coordinated set.
