Velvet Meadow Suite for the Creative Creases Challenge #116

I am still honored to now be a regular member on the design team for the Creative Creases Challenge #116. The designers on this challenge are extremely talented and I am so glad to join this team. As always, the theme for the challenge is Anything Goes with a Fun Fold, and if you’ve been following my blog you already know I love finding new fun folds! I hope you will play along with the challenge, then upload your creations to the challenge site.

Here’s my card:

This is not at all the card I started out trying to create. After trimming down the Berry Burst cardstock, I realized that I didn’t have enough directions to create the card I originally wanted. The only thing that carried over from the original fun fold, was the column on the right. I’m sure that someone else has created something similar, but since I don’t know a name for it, I’m calling it a Reverse Z-fold Column Card.

The DSP (designer series paper) for this suite is so, so, so pretty! The white baby’s breath flowers on the main DSP and the white leaves on the Bubble Bath DSP are velveteen. With these DSP patterns, this card also qualifies for the Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge.

Measurements:

Here are the templates I created:

  • The Berry Burst base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8 inches
  • The second piece of Berry Burst measures 5-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 2-3/4 inches
  • I used Bubble Bath to mat the DSP (designer series paper)
    • Trim 2 pieces to 2-5/8 by 5-3/8 inches
    • Trim one piece to 2-7/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • The Peaceful Pine background floral DSP (DSP 1) needs 3 pieces
    • Trim 2 pieces to 2-3/8 by 5-1/4 inches
    • Trim 1 piece to 2-5/8 inches by 5-1/4 inches
    • HINT: When I need to trim DSP so that the pattern lines up, I turn the DSP so the backside is facing up
      • Just make sure you are trimming it so that the final pattern faces towards the top of the card
  • Trim 3 pieces of the Bubble Bath velveteen DSP to 7/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • The white cardstock on the pack of the card measures 3-1/2 by 4-3/4 inches
  • Don’t forget to trim a piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • While this card will still fit in a medium Stampin’ Up! envelope, it will be a tight fit
    • I punched two 1-inch circles and ran them through the XYRON create-a-sticker for envelope seals in case I needed two to completely seal the envelope
    • This card will require additional postage

What I Did:

  • Unless otherwise specified, i used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
  • Make sure you burnish all the score lines, burnishing each as a mountain and valley fold
  • To create the column, add tear-&-tap as shown:
  • Adhere the 5-1/2 inch square piece of cardstock to the flap as shown:
  • Adhere the Bubble Bath mats to each of the three sections, with the widest piece going closest to the column
  • Next, adhere the pieces of DSP 1 to the Bubble Bath mats
  • Adhere the pieces of DSP 2 to the three sides of the column
  • I stamped the sentiments, from the Phrases and Frames photopolymer stamp set in Berry Burst ink
  • Using the frame stamp and die from the Fern & Flora bundle, I stamped the outline in Daffodil Delight and cropped it
  • I made a loopy loop bow using the Bubble Bath ribbon and glue dots
  • After adhering the bow to the back of the front sentiment, add dimensionals to adhere it to the front of the card
  • Adhere the inside sentiment to the panel closest to the column
  • Stamp the sentiment for the back on the white cardstock using Berry Burst ink and adhere it to the back of the card
  • Finally, I added three of the small Berry Burst flowers, which come from the Velvet Meadow suite, to the front of the card

With that, I’d finished this coordinated Reverse Z-fold column card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Loopy Loop Bow:

I was able to watch Mary Deatherage’s, from Stamps -n- Lingers, Perfectly Pears tutorial. In that video, she showed her loopy-loop bow. That’s what I used for the front of my card. I’m bow-challenged and this technique allows me to relatively easily add ribbon without adding the bulk of a tied bow. If you’ve never seen her videos, you owe it to yourself to watch them. I think she’s the Queen of the Collage. Gorgeous cards!!

Delicate Wishes with the May Stampin’ Up! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome back to the monthly Stampin’ UP! Demonstrators Fun Fold Blog Hop. If you love fun folds, you’ve come to a hop filled with really great projects by some very talented fellow demonstrators. When you finish here, I hope you will hop along with the rest of the demos using the links below.

Here’s my Delicate Wishes Triple Reveal Card (or an easy card within a card):

Since the card is rather thick, and will require additional postage, it didn’t quite stay closed no matter how much I burnished the folds. Therefore, I added a set of clear Velcro circles to the back of the label and to the inside of the DSP. The following pictures show the Velcro circles, which you can barely see on the DSP.

Connie Stewart from Simply Simple Stamping posted this card on her blog on May 21, 2026. You can find her video tutorial here. Connie creates fabulous fun fold cards that look much more complicated than they are to create. This card within a card is no exception! Connie’s measurements include a 1/4 inch mat, but I’d rather use 1/8 inch so that’s what I’ve included in my measurements.

Of course, since this is a fun fold, I will be uploading it in the Creative Creases Challenge gallery as a design team member.

This stunningly gorgeous DSP definitely qualifies for the Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge Blog!

Measurements:

  • The Hydrangea Hue base measures 9-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 1-1/4 and 5-1/2 inches
  • The mini card measures 6″ by 3 inches, scored at 3 inches
  • I used the Crumb Cake DSP from Delicate Wishes for the layers on the mini card
    • Trim two pieces to 2-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches
  • The floral DSP pieces for the front and inside measure 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • Trim two pieces of the Crumb Cake DSP pattern to 1-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • The piece of DSP for the envelope flap measures 2-1/2 by 6 inches
  • I punched a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP and ran it through the XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside
  • Trim another piece of white cardstock to 1-5/8 by 2-7/8 inches for the inside part of the mini card
  • I used scraps of white to stamp and die cut the flower/leaf for the outside of the card
  • Scraps were also used to crop the two branches on the front of the card and the front sentiment
  • The banner for the front sentiment came from scraps of Secret Sea cardstock

What I Did:

BIG HINT: I thought that once I had all my pieces trimmed I could just start putting pieces where they belonged. Big mistake. While the card is easier to make than it looks, I would strongly suggest following along with the video when putting the card together. Trust me.

Here are some things I learned along the way:

  • Follow the video, pausing when needed
  • I used the oval die from the Impressions Abloom die set to crop the sentiment
  • Since I was adding a Hydrangea Hue loopy loop bow (link below) I cropped two Secret Sea banners so i’d have one over and under the bow
  • I stamped the flowers and foliage sprays using Momento Tuxedo Black ink
  • I used the Hydrangea Hue, and Crumb Cake blends combos, and the Bronze blend to color all the stamped images
  • As long as you follow Connie’s video the first time you create this card, you will be able to make future cards using just the measurements

Most of all, have fun and don’t tell anyone else how uncomplicated the card is to create.

Squash It with an Embossing Folder for Cardz 4 Guyz #386

Welcome to the March Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #386! Our host for this month’s challenge, Julie, chose Squash It (with an embossing folder) for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!

Here’s my card:

This hidden flap fold card is one of my favorites for showing off gorgeous DSP (designer series paper). In this case, I used the Moonlit Flora DSP with the Fern & Flora embossing folder.

Of course, since this is a fun fold, I will be uploading it in the Creative Creases Challenge gallery as a design team member.

This stunningly gorgeous DSP definitely qualifies for the Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge Blog!

Measurements:

Here’s the template with all the measurements:

  • I used Mossy Meadow for the base of the card and the sentiment banner
  • The Soft Seafoam cardstock mats measure 3-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • After embossing another piece of Soft Seafoam DSP, trim it to 3-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • The mat for the sentiment comes from a scrap piece of Soft Seafoam cardstock, which has also been embossed with the Fern & Flora embossing folder
  • You will also need a piece of DSP trimmed to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • Punch a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal

What I Did:

  • Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together
  • After trimming and scoring the Mossy Meadow cardstock base, I trimmed two pieces of Soft Sea Foam cardstock to 5-3/8 inches by 3-1/8 inches and adhered one to the front flap and one to the inside flap on the right side as shown
  • Making sure you have the DSP pieces in the proper order (from left to right), adhere them to the Soft Sea Foam cardstock
  • After dry embossing a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock using the 3D Fern and Flora embossing folder, trim the cardstock to 3-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
  • Lightly drag the Mossy Meadow ink pad over the embossed cardstock
    • HINT: Go slow and have a very light hand so you can keep as much ink as possible only on the raised design
    • I did have to add a few layers of color, making sure that the ink dried completely between layers
  • Adhere the embossed cardstock to the flap of the base of the card as shown
  • After wiping down a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock with an embossing buddy, stamp your sentiment using VeraMark ink
  • Cover the sentiment with white embossing powder and heat set it with your heat tool
  • Crop the sentiment using one of the Nested Essentials Dies
  • Crop the next largest Nested Essentials die from a piece of embossed Soft Sea Foam
  • Adhere the sentiment to the embossed mat, and add dimensionals to the back of the mat only the left side of the sentiment
  • Finally, add three of 2026-2028 In Color white butterflies to the front sentiment

With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope and envelope seal set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a Peachy Day!

Sue

Say It with Flowers for MMM#278 & AHSC #682

Welcome to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #682! It’s Team B’s turn, and we are happy to share our projects using the sketch. I combined the AHSC with the newest Make My Monday bi-weekly challenge #278. Our host for this edition, Tee, chose Say It with Flowers for the theme. When you finish here, please visit both challenge sites to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to both galleries. We look forward to seeing your creations there!

Here’s my card:

Here’s the sketch for the AHSC:

In addition to the AHSC and MMM challenges, I will also be entering this card in the Cut It Up! Challenge #356 and the Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge Blog.

Measurements:

  • The Berry Burst base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches to create a tent card
  • After embossing a piece of white cardstock with the Fern & Flora 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches
  • The strip of DSP (designer series paper) on the bottom measures 3/4 by 5-3/8 inches
  • The DSP for the envelope flap measures 6″ by 2-1/2 inches
    • Both of these pieces of DSP come from the Fern & Flora 12 x 12 inch DSP
  • Next, I punched a 1-inch circle from the Velvet Meadow DSP and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
  • I trimmed a piece of the Velvet Meadow DSP to 5-3/8 by 4 inches
  • I used a protractor (pictured below) to trace the semi-circle, then fussy cut it
  • Since the Velvet Meadow Suite is on my next order, I used the retired Cheerful Daisy stamp and die set for the trios of flowers
  • I had a piece of embossed Peaceful Pine cardstock from this card, so I cropped two of the branch-y dies from it
  • The white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches
    • I didn’t stamp anything on the inside yet until I decide who will be getting this card and why
  • I used a scrap of white cardstock for the sentiment

What I Did:

  • Unless otherwise specified, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
  • I adhered the strip of Berry Burst DSP to the bottom of the Velvet Meadow DSP
  • After adhering the DSP to the embossed white cardstock, I adhered it to the front of the base of the card
  • I adhered the two Peaceful Pine cropped pieces to the top of the arched DSP
  • After dry-fitting the placement of the trios of flowers, I adhered the left, right, and middle trio to the top of the arch
  • I added dimensionals to two of the trios and adhered them in the alternating positions
  • I stamped the sentiment in Berry Burst and the frame in Peaceful Pine using a stamp from the Fern & Flora stamp set
  • Then, I cropped the frame using the Fern & Flora die
  • I cut a piece of Peaceful Pine ribbon and added it to the back of the sentiment using mini glue dots
  • Next, I added dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhered it to the front of the card

With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a Peachy Day!
