We look forward to seeing your creations there!
Here’s my Hey Chuck fun fold:
A colleague needs a birthday card for his father using the New York Mets colors of blue and orange. I added Crumb Cake to Starry Sky cardstock and Pumpkin Pie 6 x 6″ DSP (designer series paper) for this side-step fun fold. Connie Stewart’s tutorial videos are wonderful and easy to follow. I used her video for this side-step card, and you can find her video here. Just one of the wonderful things about her videos is that she includes measurements and scoring directions. When I trimmed the Pumpkin Pie DSP for the card layers, I also trimmed a piece to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Then, I punched a 1-inch circle from Starry Sky DSP and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal. Follow those, and you can create your own fabulous side-step fun fold!
Creative Creases:
Since this is a fun-fold, I will be uploading this card to the Creative Creases challenge. It’s the third anniversary for this challenge, and I am so happy for the challenge coordinator, Debbie Mageed, and the rest of the design team members! I love that it’s always anything goes with a fun fold theme.
What I Did:
I stamped everything I needed using my Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
Unless noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue for adhering the pieces together.
Stamp the two roosters and birthday cake on white cardstock.
Stamp the fence piece on Crumb Cake cardstock.
Next, I colored the roosters using the blends combos for Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Crumb Cake.
Then, I added a bit of sparkle to the flame parts of the cake using a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen.
Crop the fence, roosters, and birthday cake using the coordinating die set.
At the same time, I cropped the weather vane from Starry Sky cardstock and then used clear Wink of Stella to the whole vane.
Stamp the two sentiments on Pumpkin Pie cardstock. In hindsight, I probably should’ve stamped it in VersaMark and used black embossing powder for this part.
Crop the Pumpkin Pie and Starry Sky cardstock pieces using deckled rectangle dies.
Trim a piece of white cardstock to fit between both deckled rectangle layers.
Adhere all the sentiment layers.
I already had the brick-embossed Crumb Cake cardstock, and it really works on this card.
After trimming it to size, I adhered it and added the weather vane.
Add dimensionals to the rooster and adhere to the Crumb Cake cardstock.
Adhere the fence piece.
After stamped the birthday sentiment on the white cardstock, adhere it to the back panel.
Adhere the smaller rooster and birthday cake to the white cardstock.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Welcome to the first bi-weekly Cardz 4 Guyz challenge for 2024! Our host for challenge # 338, Pamela, chose Use Something New in Your Stash for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the creations from the rest of the design team. I always enjoy seeing what everyone creates, but using something new is a way for me to find something I need to add to my stash. We hope you will play along. Please remember to upload your creation to the gallery when you are done.
I chose to use a new bundle from the January – April mini-catalog, Cutest Cows. These cows are so stinking adorable, and it paired beautifully with this DSP (designer series paper) from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP. The sentiments in the stamp set will work for a birthday, congratulations, or all occasion card for a younger boy.
Here’s my card:
Measurements:
The Azure Afternoon base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 8-1/4 inches to create a tent fold.
The white cardstock for the outside measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. I cropped the tag for the sentiment from this piece of cardstock since it will be covered by DSP and no one will know.
The landscape DSP measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed a piece of the Azure Afternoon 6 x 6 DSP from the Brights Collection to 2-1/2 by 6 inches for the envelope flap. I also punched a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP for the envelope flap.
Next, I cropped the bridge using a die from the Playing in the Rain die set in Pecan Pie cardstock.
I used scrap pieces of white cardstock for the cow and the milkcan/rooster combination.
Creating the Cow:
The easiest way to stamp the cow’s body and head so they fit in the punch is to use a template.
Since the stamp set is photopolymer, you can line up the body pieces in the template negative space. I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
The cow body does need to be stamped by the bottom of the cardstock so the cardstock will fit in the punch.
I used the Smoky Slate blends combo to color the spots on the cow.
Attach the head to the body using multipurpose liquid glue.
The cow stamped on the inside will not fit in the punch. Therefore, I stamped it directly on the white cardstock and colored it using the Smoky Slate blends.
Stamping, Coloring, & Assembly:
As with the cows, I stamped everything using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
Stamp the trio of sunflowers on either side of the DSP, and color using the Daffodil Delight blends combo.
Use the Copper Clay light blend to add the center dots to each of the flowers.
Use the Old Olive blends to color the leaves.
Stamp the milkcan on white cardstock.
Line up the rooster on top of the milkcan.
HINT: It’s easier to line up the photopolymer stamps if you use acrylic blocks larger than the stamp. This way, the sides of the block do not interfere with lining up the stamps.
Color the milkcan using Smoky Slate blends.
Color the rooster using Daffodil Delight and Copper Clay blends.
Fussy cut the milkcan/rooster combined piece.
Use Azure Afternoon to stamp both the inside and outside sentiments.
Crop the outside sentiment using one of the banner dies from the Nested Essentials die set.
Add dimensionals under the sentiment banner, the cow, and the milkcan/rooster pieces and adhere to the card front.
With that, I’d finished this adorable, coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Welcome back to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Guyz challenge. Our host for #337, Dawn, chose elves or gnomes for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team created. We’d love for you to play along with us and post your projects in the gallery.
My husband loved the Kindest Gnomes stamp and die set from last year, so I couldn’t sell it. The gnome I used is his favorite.
Here’s my card:
I found a video tutorial a couple of weeks ago from Rachel Tessman of stamp your art out with Rachel. I watched the whole video first and absolutely fell in love with her cards!! Once I started, I just kept going and created 10 of the 16 cards I need for friends at work in one night. I’ve just kept making these cards because it’s just such an easy fun fold. This card makes such an impact and is just stamping, trimming, and scoring. You can see my previous post using this fold here.
How to Make this Card:
I used Calypso Coral for the base. Trim a piece of cardstock to 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, and score at 4-1/4 inches.
On the front side, cut off 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches. I cut off 1-1/2 inches.
The additional flap measures 4-1/4 by 4-1/4 inches. Score at 1 inch.
Adhere the 1 inch part of the flap to the back of the base on the inside.
The white cardstock for the inside measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
The gnome DSP (designer series paper) for the front of the card measures 5-3/8 by 2-5/8 inches.
The DSP for the inside of the flap and the outside of the flap each measure 3-1/8 by 4-1/8 inches.
Next, I trimmed a piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Then, punch a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP for the envelope seal and ran iit through my XYRON create-a-sticker.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the cardstock and DSP.
I colored the gnome using the Calypso Coral, light natural tones, and Smoky Slate blends combos to color the gnome.
I cropped the sentiment banner using a Deckled Rectangle die.
I needed a third element on the front. Therefore, I used one of the retired snowflakes and used a blending brush with Calypso Coral ink to color it.
The snowflake is adhered using multipurpose liquid glue.
Please visit Rachel Tessman’s video for a step-by-step tutorial. Then, try this fold yourself. I still need about 30 Christmas cards, and I hope to use this fold for the majority of them. I already have all the pieces cut for three more. Truly, easy-peasy if you can trim, score, and stamp.
Welcome back to another bi-weekly Cardz 4 Guyz challenge. Our host for challenge # 336, Julie, chose Festive Creatures for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the projects posted by each design team member. We’d love for you to play along and post your projects in our gallery!
Here’s my bookbinding card:
You can see additional bookbinding card posts here and here.
Measurements:
The Cherry Cobbler base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 3-1/4 and 4-1/4 inches to create a bookbinding fold.
The Old Olive mat measures 5-3/8 by 3 inches.
The cute DSP (designer series paper) measures 5-1/4 by 2-7/8 inches.
Trim a piece of coordinating DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Punch a 1-inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal, which then gets run through your XYRON create-a-sticker,
There’s a coordinating piece of Old Olive DSP under the Cherry Cobbler ribbon. It measures 7/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The white cardstock for the inside measures 3 by 5-1/4 inches.
Assembly:
Here’s a close-up picture of the open card:
The only place I used dimensionals was under the sentiment square. I used liquid glue or tear & tape for the rest of the elements.
Adhere the Old Olive cardstock to the base of the card.
Adhere the cute critters DSP to the Old Olive cardstock.
Adhere the strip of DSP to the left hand bookbinding part of the base of the card.
Wrap a piece of ribbon around the 3/4 inch piece of cardstock and DSP and tie a bow.
Use at least two pieces of tear & tape to the inside of the bookbinding piece of the cardstock and burnish well using a bone folder.
The sentiment comes from the Brightest Glow stamp set. I stamped it using Cherry Cobbler ink on white cardstock.
Crop the sentiment using a square die from the Stylish Shapes die set.
Then, run the square through your Cut $ Emboss machine using one of the Basics embossing folders.
Outline the sentiment square using a Cherry Cobbler Stamping Write Marker.
Adhere to the front of the DSP using dimensionals.
Adhere the white cardstock to the inside of the card.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a Peachy Day!
Sue
I have another post today for the SU! Demo Fun Fold Blog Hop! That Hop goes live at 7 am ET.
Welcome back to the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge! Our host for #335, Helen, chose a winter scene for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you visit the challenge site to see the projects created by the rest of the design team members. As always, we would love to see your holiday scene projects in our gallery.
My card lets the DSP (designer series paper) do all the work. Therefore, it falls into the easy-peasy category.
Here’s my card:
Polar bears, snow, Christmas trees, presents, and stars combine for an adorable winter scene.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Beary Christmas DSP measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
I used a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock for the sentiment square.
The Very Vanilla cardstock for the inside of the card measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
The coordinating DSP for the envelope flap measures 6 by 2-1/2 inches, and adhered with multipurpose liquid glue..
I punched a 1-inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal, then ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker.
Putting the Card Together:
Using multipurpose liquid glue, adhere the DSP to the cardstock base.
I used a sentiment from the retired Hope & Peace stamp set, and stamped it in Night of Navy ink.
Crop the sentiment using one of the Stylish Shapes square dies.
Outline the sentiment square using a Night of Navy marker.
Add two pieces of tear & tape to the back of the sentiment.
Fold a length of Real Red ribbon in half and adhere to the tear & tape.
Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment square and adhere to the front of the DSP.
Stamp another holiday sentiment on the Very Vanilla cardstock using Night of Navy ink for the inside of the card.
Adhere the Vanilla cardstock using multipurpose liquid glue.
With that, I finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal card set.
