I just love the color red, and Stampin’ Up! has a wide variety of reds. My very favorite is Cherry Cobbler. Give me a red, black, and white or red, tones of gray, and white, and I am in heaven. This challenge was no exception. At first, I decided to create a plaid base using the Buffalo Check background stamp. After stamping it in Basic Gray and adding Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate thin plaid lines, I decided I wanted to create a clean card instead.
Here’s the card I created after I changed my inital plan:
Here’s the challenge banner:
Dandelion Wishes
Dandelions remind me of my childhood on the south shore of Long Island. With those memories in mind, I decided this stamp set, with the Color Throwdown challenge colors would be a good match. I’m happy with the result. The card is clean, and the pops of Cherry Cobbler pair very well with the Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.
The whole card came together very quickly. Don’t you love when that happens? The bottom mat is Cherry Cobbler, followed by Smoky Slate, with a Whisper White card background. Next, I used Basic Gray to stamp the dandelions and for the bottom circle of the sentiment block. Smoky Slate is the middle layer of the sentiment circle, with Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White for the actual sentiment.
I added the Cherry Cobbler ribbon tied in a square knot. With that, I originally thought I was done, but decided that the front needed a little something. So, I grabbed my dark Basic Gray stamping blend and colored three pearl basic jewels. After they dried, which requires a bit of patience, I simply placed one on each of the dandelion centers. Then I stamped the trio of dandelions in Smoky Slate on the inside of the card. The image is light enough to be able to write over it without an issue. There is no greeting on the inside, leaving plenty of space to write a personal note.
I used Basic Gray to stamp the single dandelion on the front of the card. Then, I stamped a series of the dandelion trios on the envelope flap. Easy peasy.
With that, the coordinating card/envelope set was completed. A clean and simple card with a beautiful color combination that came together very quickly. Have to love it!
As always,

A beautiful use of these colors, Sue! ♥
Sue, I love this “get well” card. I have pinned it for a future CASE. (And it sure does show that we have not gotten much sunshine lately! This would have been stunning with brighter lighting! Regardless, it’s a great card!)
