#GDP109 is a color challenge this week using Basic Black, Old Olive, and Gold. Let me start by saying I really am not a yellow gold person. Silver – all day long. Not so much with gold.
What better to create with these colors than a Christmas card? I’d first made this card in Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler, and silver thread and then again using the #GDP109 colors. I used the Carols of Christmas bundle, Old Olive and Basic Black cardstock, the fabulous Merry Little Christmas DSP, gold thread, Stitched Shape die set, and the Sheet Music stamp. Ink was Basic Grey (for the Sheet Music background), and Basic Black for the sentiment. After I put the gold thread behind the sentiment I realized it is so fine that it almost can be overlooked and therefore, the card needed more gold. Enter my Wink of Stella pen, which I used as an accent on the trees at the bottom of the card and ditch surrounding the sentiment from the Stitched Shape square.
I love this stamp set, the whole bundle, the Sheet Music background stamp, and the DSP. Who would have thought that Black and Old Olive would have made this alternative colors for Christmas person so happy!
