The Fab Friday challenge, #FF117, is a bi-weekly challenge and I was honored to be chosen as a Fab Fave at the beginning of the summer.  This week’s sketch was clean and simple with a focal circle and strip on top of part of the circle.  I pulled out Color Theory DSP,  A Little Wild clear mount stamp set and framelits, Label Me Pretty punch, and Stitched Shapes framelits, Crushed Curry chevron ribbon (retired), some Soft Suede ink, my blending pen, and markers in Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, and Peek-a-Boo Peach.  Oh yeah, the retired Hello stamp set and mini-dimensionals. When writing all the supplies  out I realized it sounds extensive, but this card went together pretty quickly.

The bear, elephant, and lion in this set are adorable!   I’ve already made a card with all 3 (see it here), just the honey bear (see it here), and the elephant (see it here), so it was time to showcase the lion.  I have found I love coloring, especially with the blending pen, because of the softer looks available when using it.  Crushed Curry was used for the body, Tangelo Twist for the main and part of the tail, and the Peek-a-Boo Peach was used for shading on the body and tip of the tail.  I used the framelits to cut out the lion and all I had to do was snip across the top of the mane.

A Stitched Shapes large circle in Crushed Curry Color Theory DSP, mounted with mini-dimensionals over the chevron ribbon mounted on Color Theory DSP.   I stamped hello right on the DSP mat, and used the Pretty Label punch on the same base DSP, used mini-dimensionals to mount the lion on the label, and the label on the circle.  Got everything together and wanted just a little something more, so I cut out a thin strip of the ombre Color Theory, punched it with my (retired) little tag punch and slipped it under the circle.  Now, I was done.  He’s so cute!
