Here’s my card:
My first card using this fold was for a Halloween card using the Spooky Sweet 12 x 12 inch DSP (designer series paper). Make sure to add it to your wish list because it is just too stinking cute to pass up! You can see that card here, in all it’s googly-eyes adorableness!
I saw the tutorial reel on FaceBook posted by the West Coast Papercrafter. You can see her video here.
Measurements:
The following template is with measurements given in the West Coast Papercrafter’s video. I wanted thinner borders for this card, but it would totally work with her original measurements, so I am including those.
I didn’t use DSP for this card. Instead, I embossed two pieces of 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inch white cardstock using the sunrise Sailling embossing folders
I trimmed one piece for the outside to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the outside
I used the second embossed cardstock for the inside
I trimmed two pieces of the “waves” for the two pop-up shelf pieces
Then I trimmed the remaining for the top part of the inside
Since I didn’t want the embossed sailboat be a main focus, I used a bone folder to smooth down the boat as much as possible before covering it with cropped clouds
Stamping, Dry Embossing, & Cropping:
I stamped two of the sailboats on white cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink, then stamped the sail parts using Azure Afternoon ink
Stamp the ahoy sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink
On the inside part of the pop-up card, stamp the waves using Azure Afternoon ink and the sentiment in black ink
Color the hull part of the boats using the Gray Granite blends combo
Crop the two sailboats and clouds using the Sunrise Sailing dies
After cropping the ahoy sentiment with a banner die from Stylish Shapes dies
Crop the three birds from a scrap of black cardstock
After cropping the clouds for the inside, outline them using Gray Granite
Crop one of the wave pieces from Azure Afternoon cardstock
Putting the Card Pieces Together:
Since there would already be so much bulk to the card that extra postage would be needed, I didn’t want to add dimensionals
Therefore, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all of the pieces together
Personally, I think that I need to be most careful about adhering the inside of the card to the base
Therefore, using the Adtech Removable adhesive tape is essential to the inside placement
I can use the tape to eyeball where I think the inside top and bottom needs to be adhered, then open and close the card to make sure everything works as it should
The removable adhesive allows me to make adjustments before permanently adhering the inside
This card is basically many layers coming together to create a fabulous and unexpected fun fold
I hope you try this card for yourself and don’t forget to follow along with the West Coast Papercrafter’s tutorial video

Welcome to my one card, three challenges post. It’s not often that I can work three different challenges into one card, but I’m pretty stinking pleased that I was able to combine two of the challenges for which I am a design team member. Our host for the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #376, Julie, chose Summer Holidays for the theme. As always, the theme for The Creative Crafters challenge # 90, is Anything Goes. Combining Summer Holidays and Anything Goes with the Creative Creases Challenge theme which is always Anything Goes with a Fun Fold, I brought all three challenges together into one card.
Here’s my card:
This bundle includes the stamp set, the hybrid embossing folder, and a die set. Take a look at this trio:
I probably should’ve added a couple of die cut clouds, but will do that next timeI’ve already posted one Sunrise Sailing card as a guest designer for the current Creative Creases challenge, and you can see that card here. If you love fun folds as much as I do, then the Creative Creases challenge is for you.
Measurements:
The Real Red base measures 11 by 4-1/4, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches to create the easel making sure to burnish both score lines
After embossing the Night of Navy cardstock, trim it to 4 by 5-1/4 inches
Trim two pieces of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches
You will need white cardstock pieces for the boat and sentiment, for which I used scraps
Use a Night of Navy scrap for the circle border (from the Coneflower Celebrations die set)
It is so much easier if you adhere the Night of Navy strip to a trimmed to size adhesive sheet before cropping
Remember you will need to run the cardstock/adhesive sheet combination back and forth at least twice to accommodate the extra bulk
Stamping:
Stamp the sailboat using Momento Tuxedo Black ink
Stamp the Night of Navy sail sections
I used the Read Red and Gray Granite blends combos to color the boat
Stamp the sentiment in Real Red
Crop the boat using the Sunrise Sailing die
Crop the sentiment using a banner die from Stylish Shapes and outline it using a Real Red marker
Stamp the sentiment for the inside in Real Red
Using Night of Navy ink, stamp the waves on the bottom of the inside
Using Daubers:
I wanted the waves to resemble whitecaps but struggled with creating this look
First, I dropped some white craft ink onto an acrylic block so I could easily use a dauber
Next, I used the dauber to lightly drag white ink across the embossed waves from the left to the right
Since the cardstock absorbs the white craft ink, I tried adding 5 or 6 layers and still couldn’t get the look I wanted
Switching gears, I very, very lightly added pearlized enamel effects to the tops of some of the waves
After letting that dry overnight, I tried with the dauber and white craft ink again
I used the white craft ink and dauber for the cloud embossed sections as well
Finally, I used a black marker to trace over the embossed birds
As I am typing this, I had an idea that might work to better achieve the look I wanted and will update this post if it works
Putting the Card Together:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together
Adhere the Night of Navy embossed cardstock to one of the white cardstock pieces
Then adhere the white cardstock the the bottom flap of the card base only
If you adhere the whole white cardstock to the Real Red base, you won’t get an easel
Since the embossing folder has the same boat shape embossed, I just adhered the boat directly to the Night of Navy cardstock
Add dimensionals to the underside of the sentiment banner and adhere to the Night of Navy cardstock
Adhere the inside piece of white cardstock to the inside of the base
I usually place my easel stop about an inch down from the fold of the card, so that’s where I adhered the circle stop

I am honored to be a guest designer for the July, 2025 edition of the Creative Creases Challenge, where it’s always everything goes with a fun fold.
Here’s my Sunrise Sailing fun fold:
I found the instructions for this card on Pinterest (of course) from Linda Bauwin of Stamping with Linda. She does have a video tutorial on YouTube, which you can find here. I watched the video and used her measurements for this card.
This card may look complicated, but it really came together quite quickly. I already made a second card, which I will be posting on July 15 as a member of the Creative Crafters Design Team.
If you don’t have the arches die set, you can use a number of other die sets whether they are current or retired. I hope you have fun with this fun fold. Don’t forget to upload your creations to the Creative Creases Challenge! I would love to see what you create!
What I Did Differently:
I used a Balmy Blue base for the card, including the inside pull-out section
HINT: Make sure that your pull-out part comes out from the right-hand side of the card, which seems backwards at first
I didn’t use DSP on the front of the card, since I wanted to use the 3D embossing folder for the bundle
After embossing the front, I used Azure Afternoon ink and a blending brush to color the water section of the embossed image
Next, I lightly brushed on a few layers of white craft ink one the embossed part of the waves using a dauber and drops of ink I put on an acrylic block
Even after multiple layers I wasn’t getting the look I wanted, so I lightly added Wink of Stella to the waves
Using the same dauber, I added white ink to the clouds for just a touch of cloud color
Then, I cropped out the arch from the center of the card base
I stamped the sailboat and the sentiment on Basic White cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink
Using Gray Granite light and dark blends, I colored the boat
I stamped Azure Afternoon on the sails and used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the birds on the embossed birds
After stamping some water on the sentiment banner, I cropped it using a Stylish Shapes die
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment and the birds using black ink
Then, I added water on the bottom in Balmy Blue, and lightly added Wink of Stella
This card has a bit of bulk to it, so you might need to add additional postage
Adhere the sentiment to the cropped arch using dimensionals
Adhere the rest of the elements of the card using multipurpose liquid glue
Finally, I trimmed a piece of Balmy Blue 6″ by 6″ DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card and envelope set
