A Splash of Green for the Cardz 4 Galz #272
Welcome back to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge #272. Our host for this edition of our bi-weekly challenge, Pamela, chose A Splash of Green for the theme. I needed three cards for family members, so I created a Garden Green, a Blackberry Bliss, and a Secret Sea card.
Three of a Kind:
- The base of each of the cards measure 8-1/2 by 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4 inches
- I cropped a piece of the base cardstock using the largest Textured Notes die
- After dry-embossing a piece of white cardstock using the Sunflowers 3D embossing folder, I cropped each using the next smaller Textured Notes die
- After stamping the sentiment on scraps of white cardstock using the base color, I cropped each using another Textured Notes die
- Next, I used my gold Wink of Stella brush to outline the sentiment, the white cardstock pieces, and the cropped mat layer
- Wink of Stella is difficult to photograph, but trust me, you can see it easily in person
- With the exception of the sentiment banners, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
- I adhered each piece of embossed white cardstock to the cropped mat for each color
- Next, I added a piece of coordinating ribbon and tied it in a square knot for each of the card
- Then, I added dimensionals to the back of each sentiment, making sure they would straddle the ribbon, and adheredd them over the ribbon
- I adhered the mat/embossed layers to the base of the card
- Three brushed bronze butterflies were added to the sunflowers on the front of the card
- There are sentiments on the inside of the card, however, the reason for the cards is to honor the memory of a beloved family member, so I didn’t photograph the insides
These cards have been mailed in a medium Stampin’ Up! envelope and did not require extra postage.
