This new Painted Autumn DSP is beautiful, the colors remind this resident of Florida of my childhood autumns on Long Island. For this card, I used one sheet cropped into an oval shape to match the sketch from Paper Players #359. I also used the Painted Harvest bundle set for the leaf, the sentiment, and the label punch. I really like the shape of this punch, and it will be used often long after the holidays are over. I’ve been punching multiple layers for underneath the greeting using this punch and the Pretty Label punch, which allows the sentiment to pop off the DSP. The leaf is a two-step process, and I finished it with the Early Espresso ink pad and a blender pen for a soft outline. I really wanted something to add a bit of something-something without taking away from the gorgeous colors, so enter the burlap ribbon under the labels. Simple and clean layout, and I think it is easily recognizable to see the #PP359 sketch.

It was my great-niece’s first birthday party this past weekend. I’ve been very happily busy helping my niece with decorations and foods to coordinate with the Under the Sea theme. Love it! So much fun!
For Sophia’s birthday card, I was pleased as punch to use the diagonal from bottom left to top right: die cut, oval, and fun fold. After watching a youtube video for the double-z fold, I was so surprised to find how easy this fold is to make. It should be under the easy-peasy category. The stamp set is the Seaside Shore set. Love!
The colors I used were Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Fresh Fig, Wisteria Wonder, and Silver shimmer paper. The party colors were purple/lavendar, teal, and silver, and this card was displayed on the food table as part of the decorations.
I had to find the fish dies on Amazon, and they were the perfect size. The clown fish were cropped from some textured white cardstock I had on hand and then sponged with Fresh Fig.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! Today’s Blog Hop is filled with projects inspired by some of our favorite Fall-themed products. What fun! Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs (both the Annual Catalog and soon-to-be-released Holiday Catalog) are filled with so many fun products for the Autumn holidays – and we are excited to share our creations with you today. I initially made this card for last week’s Global Design Project 100th card challenge but decided to save it for this blog hop. I CAS(E)d my fearless upline, Brian King, using some fabulous new products available in the soon-to-be-released holiday catalog. I chose this colorful DSP for the background of the card because the colors just match what I remember from FALL when I was growing up on Long Island (I live in Florida now and completely miss experiencing seasons actually change). The Painted Autumn DSP has some fabulous paper designs and colors, and I highly recommend adding it to your holiday catalog wishlist! The base is Lemon Lime Twist, with another layer of Early Espresso under the DSP, which allows the DSP to pop right off the card!
The Leaf Punch coordinates beautifully (as all SU punches do!) with the Painted Harvest stamp set. The leaf stamp is a two-step set, and I stamped the base in Cajun Craze and the details in Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla base, then punched it out. I used mini-dimensionals to pop the leaf, but allow it to lay under the label. CUTE!
I also used the new Every Day Label Punch for the Lemon Lime Twist top piece and 2 Early Espresso pieces used to create the mat. The layered label is popped up with dimensionals. When I was doing a “dry run” of the card, I realized that I needed something under the labels, so I grabbed my Lemon Lime Twist ribbon, stamped my greeting from the Painted Harvest stamp set, and then attached everything together. I’m happy with the result. The DSP really is the star of the card, and keeping the rest of it simple, but it’s definitely not plain.

This week I decided to use the diagonal from bottom left to upper right consisting on green, fun fold, and bug or insect. I don’t know why I didn’t think of the dragonflies first, but I’ve wanted to use this cute lady bug stamp since I got it and finally pulled it out (and it’s now retired; SIGH). I wanted to have a Real Red, Basic Black, and Whisper White card but that wouldn’t include the green I needed. I also had to find a fun fold and this Dutch door fold card is so perfectly easy to create! (Thank you Lovenstamps.com!)
I found grass in the Thoughtful Branches photopolymer stamp set, including the matching mounded lines. I carefully stamped the ladybugs just at the edge of the grass and colored them using Real Red. The Basic Black DSP is from Pick-a-Pattern. Love that paper and am going to have to order another stack of it at this rate! I used Real Red in the scallop oval to crop out two ovals. I was able to line up the scallops on both the inside and the outside, and then it was just a matter of using my Tombow to put all the pieces together.

Colors this week for #ctd455 were pink, lavender, teal, and white. I need a baby shower card for my soon-to-be great niece, and thought this would be a good color combination. I have to admit though, the end result is not at all what I started making.
As this card evolved, i decided that I wanted to have both sides of the baby elephant showing on the card, so I used a Dutch fold card I found on Pinterest, as posted by Lovenstamps.com. It is such an easy card to make and it took me much longer to do the card than it should have. However, it’s relaxing and fun to watch a pile of paper, some ink, punches, stamps, and markers come together in a card I can use.

#GDP099 is a themed challenge for wedding/anniversary/love. I need a wedding card, so this was perfect timing for me. I used the retired Floral Boutique DSP for this card, along with Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock. The ribbon is also SU ribbon. The die cuts are from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits. I did use some non-SU silver glitter paper, and that created a couple of challenges. Take my advice, don’t use anything other than the SU glitter paper for thinlits, you have to trust me on that. Even using the dryer sheet technique and the SU brush, I couldn’t get the little pieces out of the hearts, which led to cropping two additional hearts out of Night of Navy and layering them on top of the silver. I like the effect of the two layers, but wish my pre-order had arrived before I made this card. I layered the silver “love” cutout over Night of Navy and am pleased with the way the reversed colors on the hearts and the sentiment play off each other. The sentiment is popped up on some mini-dimensionals that I still had to cut in half. When they are that tiny, the SU paper piercer makes it much, much easier to position those little sticky things.
I really love the way it turned out, problems and all. I couldn’t just leave the background a plain Whisper White, so I embossed it with the Softly Falling TIEF and even my DH likes the results.
