Welcome to a new Cardz 4 Galz biweekly challenge! Lynda chose the theme of “princess” for challenge # 158. I hope you will pop over to the blog to see the variety of princess cards to inspire you. The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to see how you interpret our theme.
Here’s my card:
Measurements:
The Basic Gray card base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches. I scored it at 4-1/4 inches to create a tent fold.
The perfectly feminine Flirty Flamingo DSP (designer series paper), which is from the Pattern Party Host DSP pack, measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I also trimmed a piece of the DSP to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches for the envelope flap. This pattern is the reverse side of the pattern I used for this week’s Cardz 4 Guyz #282 challenge. You can see that card here.
I used my one-inch circle punch to punch a seal for the envelope from a scrap piece of Basic Gray 6×6 inch DSP.
I used a stitched rectangle die to crop the swan focal image panel. This panel measures4-1/4 inches by 3 inches.
While I had the white cardstock out, I trimmed a piece to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside panel.
The Basic Gray mat for the sentiment measures 3 inches by 1 inch. I stamped and cropped the sentiment from a scrap piece of white cardstock.
What I Did for this Easy-Peasy Card:
I went back and forth about coloring or not coloring the swan. I’m pleased with my decision to not color her. She’s gorgeous just the way she is.
After deciding to use the Flirty Flamingo metallic ribbon, I used a gold Wink of Stella to color the swan’s crown.
The white cardstock seemed to just blend into the DSP behind it. Therefore, I used the Flirty Flamingo marker to outline the focal panel. That little bit of color really makes the white cardstock stand out.
Before adhering the DSP to the cardstock, I wrapped a length of ribbon around the DSP and tied it in a bow. I have to say, sometimes I can tie a pretty decent bow. This was one of those times.
I used multipurpose liquid adhesive to adhere everything but under the Basic Grey sentiment mat. There are dimensionals under the sentiment mat. Looking at that mat now, I can see I didn’t do a very good job of straddling the mat over the ribbon. I am going to have to fix that.
Finally, I added 4 pastel pearls to the corners of the sentiment panel. They aren’t Flirty Flamingo, but they are really, really close.
This Love, Santa Tag Kit is adorable and an easy way to make your own gift tags! Take a look at this video!

Welcome back to the biweekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge! Dawn chose the theme for challenge # 157, and I chose to use my brand new Forever Blossoms bundle! I hope you will visit the challenge blog and see the rest of the cards created by our design team members!
Here’s my card:
These cherry blossoms remind me of Washington, D.C. They are gorgeous in person.
Measurements:
The Old Olive card base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
I used a Petal Pink mat, and it measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
I ran the white cardstock through the cut and emboss machine in the brick and mortar 3D embossing folder first. Then I trimmed it down to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I used a piece of white cardstock for the cherry blossoms and the sentiment.
The white cardstock for the inside panel measures my usual 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
The last measurement is for the envelope flap. I used a piece of Petal Pink DSP and it measures 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
What I Did:
After stamping the cherry blossom stamp in Soft Suede, I had to really let it dry thoroughly before coloring with Stampin’ Blends. At this point, I also stamped a portion of the blossoms on the bottom, left-hand corner of the inside panel and allowed it to dry completely.
While that was drying, I stamped the front sentiment from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Old Olive on white cardstock.
I cropped this sentiment using the Seasonal Labels die set. Since I wanted the sentiment to stand out from the white brick and mortar background, I outlined it using the Soft Suede marker. Then, I put dimensionals under this sentiment.
I used Stampin’ Blends to color the blossoms and leaves. The light Soft Suede blend was used for the stem portions. I used the light and dark Petal Pink blends. Finally, I colored the leaves using the light and dark Old Olive blends. This color combination seems perfect for the cherry blossoms. After cropping the blossoms using the coordinating dies, I popped it up on dimensionals.
One of the reasons I chose Petal Pink was to use this gorgeous ribbon. I wrapped a length of it around the white cardstock and tied it in a bow. Since the blossoms would be on the left side of the card, I put the bow on the right side to balance the card.
I tucked the sentiment under the ribbon on the left. Then I decided the card needed a bit of something else. Therefore, I used three pearl basic jewels placed in a triangle pattern around the blossoms.
Inside and Finishing Up:
The always and Forever sentiment for the inside also comes from the Forever Blossoms stamp set. This whole set is just phenomenal! I had to give it a second and third look before I broke down and bought it, but I am very glad I did!
Here’s the inside:
I stamped then colored the same partial blossom/leaf combination on the bottom, left-hand side of the front of the envelope.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap. I’d cropped and colored some single blossoms thinking I would use them. Since I didn’t use them for the front of the card, one of them makes a great envelope seal.
With that, this coordinated card/envelope/seal set was complete..
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this card.

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge #155. Debbie chose using stencils for this challenge. This two week challenge starts today, September 9, 2021. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created as well. We all look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery!
Here’s my card using stencils:
Can you tell where I used the stencil? If you said the brick looking background, you are correct!
Measurements:
The Cajun Craze base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Bumblebee mat measures 5-3/8 inches by 4-1/8 inches.
I stenciled on the white cardstock. It measures 5-1/4 inches by 4 inches. The cardstock vellum measures the same.
Your sentiment block will depend on the one you choose. My white sentiment panel measures 3-1/2 inches by 1-1/4 inches.
The Bumblebee mat measures 3-5/8 inches by 1-3/8 inches.
I decided to use Cajun Craze under the designer series paper (DSP) even though the color isn’t listed as a coordinating color. The mat for that measures 5-1/4 inches by 2-1/8 inches. The You’re a Peach DSP measures 5-1/8 inches by 2 inches.
I also trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 5-1/4 inches by 4 inches for the inside of the card.
In addition, I trimmed a piece of the DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
What I Did:
I started with the stencil on the white cardstock. Since I thought that the brick-ish pattern would go well with the DSP, I used that stencil from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks set.
Calypso Coral is on the list of coordinating colors for this DSP, so that’s what I used. When I finished, I thought the color was too bright for the DSP. Therefore, I grabbed a piece of vellum cardstock and trimmed it to size. I used the multipurpose liquid adhesive to adhere the vellum. to the white cardstock. Because of the sentiment and DSP blocks, I could hide almost all of the adhesive behind those blocks. I did add a very, very thin line of adhesive along the edge of the vellum to hold it down. I’ve really been looking at the card closely, and I can’t see the adhesive.
After creating the sentiment and DSP panels, I tied a length of the Bumblebee ribbon around the DSP panel.
Then, I used dimensionals to pop up the DSP panel. I also needed dimensionals on the right end of the sentiment panel. Liquid adhesive joined the left side of the sentiment panel to the DSP panel.
I stamped the coordinating sentiment on the white cardstock for the inside of the card and adhered it using liquid adhesive.
After adhering and trimming the DSP on the envelope flap, I punched a circle for the envelope seal. Every card I’ve made since COVID has a sticker seal so no saliva is used to seal the envelope shut.
With that, this card/coordinating envelope/envelope seal set was complete..
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this card.

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge #154. Lynda chose a cute dogs theme for National Dogs’ Day. This two week challenge starts today, August 26, 2021. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created as well. We all look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery!
Here’s my National Dogs’ Day card:
I don’t think I will ever tire of the Pampered Pets DSP (designer series paper), stamp set and coordinating dies. The red stitched ribbon and black/white baker’s twine was also part of the suite of products. The DSP is retired, but the stamp set, dies, and ribbon duo is still available. I must remember to add it to my next order.
What I Did:
There are only a few measurements you need for this card. To start, the Real Red base measures 5-1/2inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The DSP for the envelope flap measures 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
The white cardstock for the inside measures my normal 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
There is a piece of black cardstock right on top of the red cardstock for a distinctive border between die punches.
I used the tailored tag punch and just punched away on the various dog DSP patterns. I’ll admit I have enough punches to create another card, but that’s for another day.
When I had enough punches, I started dry-fitting them on the black cardstock. Of course, using the repositionable tape was a huge help with the dry-fitting and trying to find a pattern arrangement with which I was happy.
I after I was happy, and after I had adhered all the full-sized punches to the black cardstock, I trimmed them by hand using my paper snips.
The adorable schnauzer is on the DSP and a coordinating die crops it perfectly! The schanuzer got popped up using dimensionals so he would straddle the ribbon.
Then, I wrapped a length of the ribbon and baker’s twine around the card together and tied it in one bow.
After stamping the sentiment using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad, I cropped it with a stitched rectangle die. Then I outlined the cropped rectangle using the Real Red Stamping Write Marker and popped it up on dimensionals.
Finally, I stamped “Happy Birthday” on the white cardstock for the inside panel.
That’s it. It definitely looks more complicated than it was to create the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this card.

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge #153. Misti chose texture as the theme for the challenge starting today, August 12, 2021. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created as well. We all look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery!
Here’s my card:
This card could definitely be in the quick card category.
The Old Olive base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent card.
The final size of the white brick and mortar background measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
The Real Red piece of cardstock measures 2 inches by 3-3/4 inches.
What I Did:
I did run the white cardstock through the cut and emboss machine using the brick and mortar 3D embossing folder. I would like to be able to say that I planned to have the grout lines raised on this card to add more texture to the card. However, I can’t say that because I made a mistake on the other side and simply turned the cardstock over. It does add more texture to the card, though.
I trimmed a piece of Real Red cardstock to 2 inches by 3-3/4 inches on purpose. My thought was to have the length of the flower stalks to fit on the cardstock, while having the sides of the flowers just peek over the edge. Thanks to the subtle embossing folder, there is just a very light texture on the red cardstock.
I used the Nature’s Harvest Bundle, found in the July – December mini-catalog for the flowers, sentiment, and dies.
The Stamparatus made stamping Daffodil Delight and Old Olive on the flowers and stalks pretty simple. First, I used the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the stems, then stamped them. Since the magnets held the scrap of white cardstock on the Stamparatus platform, coloring the flowers was easy-peasy. After cleaning the stamp, I used the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the flowers. The Real Red ribbon just adds a pop of color and texture to the card.
I placed dimensionals under the flowers and stalk to adhere to the card.
I wanted the overall feel of this card to be soft. Therefore, I used Old Olive ink to stamp the sentiment. After I was sure the ink had dried, I cropped the sentiment using the label die in the bundle. The dimensionals under the end of the sentiment, and multipurpose glue on the part over the stems.
That’s it. Relatively fast. Definitely clean but full of texture, and includes the colors for the challenge. Win-win.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this card.

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge #152.Helen chose using dies &/or punches theme for the challenge starting today, July 29, 2021. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created as well. We all look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery! I used both dies and punches for my card.
Here’s my card:
Measurements:
The Crumb Cake base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I used Calypso Coral as an accent color. The mat measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
I dry embossed the white cardstock layer before trimming it down to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. There’s a white panel for the inside that’s the same size as the outside white panel.
The Crumb Cake and Early Espresso cardstock elements are all from my scraps.
The faux suede ribbon wraps around the Calypso Coral mat and I tied it in a square knot.
Putting It Together:
I used multipurpose glue to attached the embossed white panel to the Calypso Coral mat.
All three sentiments are from the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set. I just love this set with the coordinating dies and haven’t used it nearly as often as I should. The sentiments and cookies are stamped in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake cardstock.
After stamping the cookies, I cropped them using the cookie die.
I’ve been using the foam adhesive sheets very frugally. However, I used it the way the directions describe. Therefore, I cut a piece of Early Espresso just a tad larger than the die. I placed the Early Espresso cardstock on top of one side of the adhesive sheet. Then, I cropped “cookies” with the coordinating die set.
The Classic Label punch retired when the 2021 – 2022 annual catalog went live. However, I thought it would be perfect over and under “cookies”.
Next, I trimmed the bottom sentiment to 2-7/8 inches by 1-1/8 inches.
Then I outlined all three sentiments using the Calypso Coral Stampin’ Right marker.
Finally, I randomly stamped cookies on the envelope flap and put one on the bottom left-hand corner on the front.
The sentiment on the inside of the card says “because adulting is hard”. I stamped three more cookies along the bottom of the inside white cardstock panel.
That’s it. While the card might look complicated, the coordinating stamp set and dies make it less complicated.
Thank you very much for stopping by my blog. I appreciate every visit and comment.
