Welcome to the May Sparkles Christmas Challenge #184!
Please check out the challenges page for the creations by the other very talented design team members. When you’ve created your own card using our theme, please don’t forget to upload them to the challenges. We’d love for you to play along.
I’m the host for this month’s challenge and chose Christmas Presents for the theme.
Here’s my Christmas Presents card:

Any time I don’t have to go to school for more than a week I completely lose track of the days. However, our juniors and seniors had their Prom last weekend and I was there for most of Saturday day and evening. Since then, I have been completely out of sync, and completely lost track of the days. Ironically, and sadly, I thought tomorrow was the first, so my post is late.
Measurements:
I used a template from Jackie Bolhuis of Klompenstampers, which I found on Pinterest. Here’s the template:

- Trim a piece of Garden Green cardstock to 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches
- Following the template, line up the top corner at the score line diagonally on your paper trimmer
- Line up the bottom right hand corner diagonally and trim from the top left to the bottom right corner
- Trim a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to 8-1/2 by 3 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches
- Trim two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock to 2-1/4 by 4 inches
- I chose to use a wider margin around the Very Vanilla so more of the Poppy Parade would show
- Trim a piece of plaid Christmas DSP (designer series paper) to 4 by 5-1/4 inches, then trim it diagonally from the top left down to the bottom right
- I used another piece of DSP trimmed to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside of the card and another piece of the same pattern to 2-1/4 by 1-3/4 inches for the front
- Trim a piece of 6 x 6 inch Poppy Parade DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
- Punch a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP and run it through the XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
- Use scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock to stamp the sentiment and crop using a banner die from Stylish Shapes
What I Did:
- Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
- The Jolly Delivery die set lines up perfectly with images on the DSP, allowing me to crop the bear with the presents
- I adhered all the DSP to the cardstock base pieces
- After adhering the checked DSP to the front Very Vanilla piece, I added a piece of Poppy Parade ribbon and secured it behind the cardstock using tear & tape adhesive
- I added a glue dot under the ribbon on the front to hold it down
- Using the present stamp from the Jolly Delivery set, I stamped it randomly on the Very Vanilla cardstock
- I used double stamping in Crumb Cake ink
- After stamping the sentiment in Garden Green ink, I cropped it and added dimensionals to adhere it to the checked DSP
- I also added dimensionals behind the bear aadhered it to the Very Vanilla cardstock
- Next, I stamped the inside sentiment and a couple of presents on the Very Vanilla cardstock
- After adding a squirrel carrying a present to the bottom of the cardstock, I adhered it to the Poppy Parade flap
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a Peachy Day!
