Welcome to the October, 2024 SU! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop! Each month, a group of demos share fun fold cards for a blog hop. I always learn something new and thoroughly enjoy seeing the creations of the other demos. We hope that you will use the line-up below to hop along with us.
Here are my Monster cards:
Here’s the first one I made using retired DSP (designer series paper), but it’s too cute to leave out. The third photo in the following gallery shows that this adorable monster will fit in a Stampin’ Up! medium envelope.
I needed three of these cards so that I can send them to my two great-nieces and one great-nephew. I am going to see them this weekend and can’t wait to give them their cards!
Once again, I used a video tutorial from Rachel Tessman of stamp your art out for this card. You can find her video here. First, I watched the video all the way through, then I did my cutting and cropping. When that was done, I could follow her directions as I worked my way through the first card. After that, it was (almost) a snap to create the other two cards. Her video tutorial is easy to follow along, and pause as needed to catch up or re-watch sections.
I also made myself a template with the basic directions for the base of the card. Here are two different views of the base of my monster cards:
Hints:
- I didn’t have any Berry Burst glimmer paper, so I created my own by using the clear Wink of Stella brush on the two circles
- I cropped additional white circles using the same die as the glimmer eye circles so I could add the eyelashes and then cover up all the ugly pieces
- The only stamping I needed to do was for the back of the card where I can add white cardstock trimmed to 5-1/4 by 4 inches for a (not so) spooky sentiment and handwritten greeting
- I used a white Sharpie paint pen for the eyeballs
- I need to get the Round We Go bundle (163730) because it is so much more versatile than I originally thought
- In a pinch, a Cheerful Daisy die works for some oddly shaped eyelashes
- Most of all, have fun!
