Just Add Ink #497 has a pretty incredible sketch for this week. I went back to my current favorite DSP, Peaceful Poppies, for this card. Every pattern in this pack is fabulously gorgeous!

The DSP Does All the Work
I knew right away which pattern I wanted for the focal point of the card. One of the things I love the most about this paper is that it’s possible to get six gorgeous cards from one 12 x 12 piece of DSP.
At first I thought I’d out the green striped pattern in the middle tier. Even after I outined the three pieces with the Basic Black marker, I still tried to have it next to the floral pattern. It just didn’t work. Therefore, I moved the Blackberry Bliss polka dot pattern next to the floral. Score!
I actually tried stamping the THANK you sentiment directly on the floral DSP, but it just blended into the design and didn’t pop at all. So, I had to rethink what to do since perfectly clean was not going to work. I decided to use the Calypso Coral ribbon so there would be three pops of each color on the card. Calypso Coral is in the flowers, ribbon, and sentiment mat. Blackberry Bliss is the bottom mat, flowers, and polka dotted DSP. The various greens are in the stems, the bottom of the floral piece, and in the striped pattern. Follow the rule of threes to create a balanced card.
The Finishing Elements
This card falls into the easy peasy category, especially since I knew what DSP was going to be the focal pattern. While the bottom two layers are glued directly on the Whisper White background, I used dimensionals to pop up the floral piece of DSP. The sentiment is popped up on dimensionals as well.
I stamped the tall coordinating poppy on the front of the envelope and used blends to color it. Using the Calypso Coral and Old Olive blends combos on the front and the coloring was simply relaxing. Finally, I adhered a piece of the striped DSP to the envelope flap, which completed this set.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to hear what you think, and every comment is greatly appreciated!
Have a Peachy Day!
