The rabbit, chick, and lamb in the Mini-Catalog Welcome Easter set are so stinking adorable! The stamp set contains greeting for friends, baby, and Easter making this set very versatile.

Global Design Project #229

This week’s challenge calls for Crushed Curry, Garden Green, and Night of Navy.

Here’s the challenge banner:

Here’s my Easter card:

This card falls into the Easy Peasy category. I used the Garden Green DSP for the background with a Night of Navy block for the focal elements.

While I could have cropped the Whisper White circle closer to the chick, I wanted enough room for the cute little bees. In order to ground the chick, I used the grasses stamp and stamped full strength and stamped again without reinking. Maybe I got a bit carried away with the grass, but Easter grass seems to multiply quickly so it works.

As of right now, there are no blends for Crushed Curry and Garden Green. Sadness. Therefore, I used the Pumpkin Pie marker for the chick’s beak and feet. Then, I used the Crushed Curry Stamping Marker to color the chick.

After stamping the greeting and the bees, I cropped the sentiment block using the Stitched Rectangles die. The left side bee almost got cropped out, but I like how it is just coming into view.

With all the dots on the Garden Green DSP, I thought the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon would be perfect. I simply tied it in a bow around the Night of Navy mat. Honestly, I have been so bow challenged lately, I thought I would need to just tie a square knot. Happily, I played around with the ribbon and wound up with a useful bow.

I did use dimensionals to pop up both the chick circle and the greeting.

Finishing Touches

I used the Garden Green DSP on the envelope flap. Then, I decided that a line of happy bees needed to find a home along the bottom of the front of the envelope. Once I colored those, I had finished another card and envelope set.

As always,

Thank you so very much for stopping by my blog today. I appreciate your the time you take to read, and comment, on my blog.
