Springtime Foils DSP is phenomenal!

I should’ve ordered more during Sale-a-Bration so I could have gotten more of this DSP set.  I’ve loved DSP before, but not like this obsession.  I saw a FB live how-to video by Mary from Stamps-n-Lingers about the black ice technique with this DSP.  Oh! My! Glory! I fell in love the first time I did it, and have done it many times since.  

Bermuda Bay is my new favorite color.

I’ve done the black ice technique with Basic Black, and will share those beautiful results in an upcoming post, then with Pool Party.  When I used Bermuda Bay on the Springtime Foils, I was in complete awe of the result.  Absolutely stunning.

Global Design Project # 132 is a CASE the designer, the very talented Stesha Bloodhart, challenge this week.  Here’s her card:

Stesha used the Petal Palette stamp and die set, and I used the same set.   I didn’t want the bird to be the Bermuda Bay, but did want it to be in the same color family, so I chose to use the Pool Party Stamping Write Marker.  The sentiment is also from the Petal Pallete set.  I used the die set to crop the bird, the branches, the sentiment tag, and the “banner” under the Pretty Label Punch. 

After punching the label from Bermuda Bay, I used the smallest flower stamp and Bermuda Bay ink to give the label some very subtle texture.  After adding gold thread to the back of the punch, I popped it up on dimensionals, placed it over the black banner, and placed the sentiment over the punch.  I added the bird to the top of the punch and thought the card needed some height, so I slipped the branches behind the label.  Sometimes I really wish I would make those decisions before adhering the dimensionals just to make the whole process easier.  Maybe next time.   A small, black rhinestone (from the holiday catalog) finished off the bird.  

Petal Pallette Birthday card

I don’t think the photo does the card justice because, in person, the depth of the Bermuda Bay ink is gorgeous.  The silver and gold foil accents show up perfectly without distortion.  I’m so looking forward to using every bit of this DSP until I completely run out.  Usually I have a hard time cutting up gorgeous DSP, but not this time.  The possibilities are endless.
