A Thankful Cardz 4 Galz #211

Welcome back to the Cardz 4 Galz challenge! Our host for challenge # 211, Lynda, chose thank you, or thankful, or Thanksgiving for our theme. I am still working on the Thanksgiving cards I will need, so that’s what I created. When you are finished here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the fabulous creations made by the rest of the design team members. We’d love to see your creations, so don’t forget to upload them to our gallery.

Here’s my most recent Thanksgiving card:

For the life of me, I can’t remember which sketch challenge inspired this card. I can see the sketch in my mind, but neglected to write down to which challenge it belongs. I’ve tried searching (and searching) for it to no avail.

Measurements:

  • The Cajun Craze base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
  • The All About Autumn DSP (designer series paper) measures 4-1//8 by 5-3/8 inches.
  • I trimmed a coordinating piece of the Autumn DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
  • I punched a 1-inch circle from coordinating cardstock to use for the envelope seal. Run the 1-inch circle through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the seal.
  • The Countryside Corners die is cropped from a piece of 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inch Cajun Craze cardstock.
  • HINT: If you crop the Countryside Corner die from the middle of the piece of cardstock, you will have a piece leftover that you can use as a mat for another card. Once you cover the cardstock, no one will be able to see the ugly empty space.
  • Trim a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.
  • Use a scrap of Very Vanilla for the sentiment panel.
  • I cropped 4 of the 2 stem pieces and one of the leaf spray from Crushed Curry cardstock.

Assembly:

  • Using two of the Countryside Corners dies, crop the DSP and Cajun Craze cardstock.
  • After cropping the Crushed Curry leaf pieces, adhere them together using multipurpose liquid glue. I wanted a bit of height without trying to get dimensionals on those thin pieces.
  • Run the Crushed Curry pieces and the cropped Cajun Craze cardstock through your Cut & Emboss machine using one of the Basics Embossing Folders.
  • Center the Autumn DSP on the Cajun Craze mat and adhere with liquid glue.
  • Adhere the Crushed Curry pieces on the opposite diagonal corners of the Cajun Craze mat.
  • Line up the two pieces of the DSP and adhere with liquid glue.
  • Stamp the front sentiment using Early Espresso ink.
  • Crop using one of the Autumn Leaves dies.
  • Add a length of copper ribbon to the back of the sentiment panel.
  • Put dimensionals on the back of the sentiment panel and adhere to the card.
  • Stamp leaf pieces on the Very Vanilla inside using Cajun Craze ink.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the Very Vanilla using Early Espresso ink.
  • Adhere to the inside of the card using liquid glue.
  • With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
