Pretty in Pink with Cardz 4 Galz #232

Welcome back to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 232. Our host, Helen, chose Pretty in Pink for the theme, which works beautifully with the new set of 2024 – 2026 In Colors.

When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!

Here’s my Pretty in Pink card:

Measurements:

  • The Shy Shamrock base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 to create a tent fold card
  • You need two pieces of white cardstock, each trimmed to 4 by 5-1/4 inches
  • After dry embossing a piece of Pretty in Pink with the exposed brick folder, trim it to 4-1/4 by 5-3/8 inches
  • Trim a piece of Pretty in Pink 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • Punch a 1-inch circle from a piece of Shy Shamrock DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
  • Use scraps of Pretty in Pink and white cardstock for the Irresistible Bloom, the leaves, and the sentiment
  • You will need a length of the white diagonal ribbon (from the Petal Pink and white ribbon duo)

Stamping, Embossing, & Assembly:

  • Unless otherwise noted, all pieces were adhered with multipurpose liquid glue
  • After dry embossing the Pretty in Pink front piece of cardstock, use the Irresistible Bloom dies to crop out the circle pattern
    • HINT: This cropped circle will stay attached to the embossed cardstock
  • I used the cropped out center of the Pretty in Pink cardstock to create the flower
  • Adhere the pink cardstock to one of the pieces of white cardstock and adhere it to the base
  • After using an embossing buddy on the necessary cardstock, the sentiment, leaves and flower were stamped using VersaMark ink, then covered with white embossing powder and heat set
  • Use a blender brush and Shy Shamrock ink to blend color onto the leaves and sentiment piece
  • Crop the sentiment using a square Stylish Shapes die
  • Dry fit the flower and leaves to your liking, then adhere the leaves
  • Wrap a length of the diagonal white ribbon around the Pretty in Pink cardstock and adhere the end to the back of the cardstock
  • Use a shorter piece of ribbon to tie a knot onto the horizontal ribbon, which will allow you to move the “knot” along the horizontal ribbon as needed
  • They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so here are some pictures to make the ribbon/knot process easier:
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the bloom and adhere
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment square so that they straddle the ribbon and adhere
  • Stamp the inside sentiment using Shy Shamrock ink then adhere to the inside of the card
  • With that, you’ve completed this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
