When starting this card, I realized I don’t have any snowmen stamp sets left. I found oodles of snowmen cards on Pinterest, and then just really went with the flow. It took me a few attempts at different versions of snowmen, but then I settled on this one.
Here’s my snowman card:
So much of this card was made with retired products, but I hope you find some inspiration when creating your own snowman.
The Balmy Blue base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The Basic Black mat measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The snowfall vellum piece measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.
The retired products used:
- The background vellum was in my stash of DSP that I’ve trimmed down to 6 x 6 inches
- Three circle punches
- The “arms” are from a retired leaves
- punch, which also is good for making antlers
- The top of the hat is a retired label punch, trimmed down to size
- I love the black matte dots, but they’ve been retired for a few years
- I tried punching little circles using a hand-held hole punch but I didn’t like the flat look of them
- The layers of “snow” were cropped from flocked cardstock using one of the Basic Borders dies
- I used a stamp from the Banner Year stamp set for the sentiment
The current products used:
- The carrot nose is actually the mushroom stem from the Terrific Toadstools punch – isn’t it fabulous?
- I cropped the sentiment label using the Everyday Arches die set
- The VersaMark ink used to stamp the sentiment and the WOW! basic embossing powder was set with my heat tool
- While the pattern for the Balmy Blue 6 x 6 Subtles DSP is retired, the current DSP is available
- The Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Basic White, and Pumpkin Pie cardstock are current
- The black Stamping Write marker for the mouth is current
- I used dimensionals and multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the pieces
- My intent was for the liquid glue to be the same size as the falling “snow” but they spread
- I’m thinking about going back and using the Wink of Stella glitter brush on my oops marks of glue – I’ll update this post if I do it and if it works
