Love is in the Air for the February Pals’ Blog Hop
Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals Blog Hop!
This month, the theme is “Love is in the Air”. We hope that you will be inspired by the creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “:hop” along to Pal to Pal.
Here’s my Love is In the Air card:
This is the card I made for my husband for Valentine’s Day today, More than once, my husband has taken a Valentine’s Day card off my desk and has given it to me, which means he didn’t get a card. This year, I made two extra cards and this one is put away.
I used the Bee Mine bundle for this card, and it’s such a fun bundle. The colors are Daffodil Delight, Sweet Sorbet, Basic White, and Basic Black. So cute!
Measurements:
- The Sweet Sorbet base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
- The white cardstock bottom layer on the outside measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
- The white cardstock on the inside measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches, as did the top white cardstock layer on the outside.
- The black cardstock layer measured 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
- I used scraps for the sentiment, bumblebee, and the dotted flight piece, which is fussy-cut.
- Punch a 1-inch circle out of Bee Mine DSP (designer series paper) and run through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal.
Stamping, Cropping, & Assembly:
- Using the Scalloped Contour dies, I cropped the black and white layers for the front of the card.
- Used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the white and black layers to the base of the card.
- Using the beehive stamp, randomly stamp on the cropped white cardstock using Daffodil Delight ink. Do the same to the envelope flap and white cardstock for the inside of the card.
- Using the heart trio stamp, randomly stamp hearts using Sweet Sorbet ink. Do the same on the envelope flap and the white cardstock on the inside of the card..
- Stamp the body of the bee in black ink on a scrap piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock.
- Punch out the body of the bee.
- Stamp the wings and antennae in black ink on a scrap of white cardstock and punch them out.
- Use liquid glue to adhere the wings and antennae to the back of the body of the bee.
- Stamp the dotted flight lines in black and fussy cut it out.
- Add dimesionals to the back of the bee. Cut mini-dimensionals in half to adhere to the back of the dotted flight line. Adhere both to the card.
- Adhere the white scalloped cardstock to the black using liquid glue.
- Wipe down a scrap of Sweet Sorbet cardstock using an embossing buddy.
- Stamp the sentiment using VersaMark ink and cover it with white embossing powder and heat set.
- Punch the sentiment using the scalloped oval punch, add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhere to the card.
- Stamp the sentiment in black ink on the inside piece of white cardstock and adhere to the base.
- Finally, tie a double bow using black bakers’ twine and adhere with a glue dot.
- With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
