Welcome back to the Make My Monday biweekly challenge. Our host for challenge # 212, JoAnn B., chose Funny or Pun Sentiments for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team members created. We’d love to see your creations based on our theme, so please upload them to our gallery.
I didn’t really have pun sentiments, but I do have the Hey Chuck bundle, and the sentiments are kind of pun-ny, at least in my humble opinion.
Here’s my card:
If this layout looks extremely familiar, it’s because I’ve already used it twice. It’s from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday, and you can see my other cards using the layout here and here. Can you tell I am just pleased as punch with it?
The measurements are exactly the same as both of my previous posts. The DSP comes from the Sun Prints (retired) set. The base and dominant color is Starry Sky. It’s very difficult to see, but the whole rooster and the outline, as well as the outline of the circle are all outlined with Starry Sky marker and then I added clear Wink of Stella on them.
I used one of the online exclusive Basics Embossing folders for the background of the circle.
The fence pieces are stamped with Gray Granite on Gray Granite 6 x 6 inch DSP. I used them instead of ribbon on this version of the card.
The ink for the outside and inside sentiments is Starry Sky.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a Peachy Day!
Sue
Sorry for the much abbreviated post. My husband and I are both under-the-weather.
Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our blog hop theme is Sale-a-Bration! We hope you will be inspired by all the beautiful creations the Pals have made for you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I used the SAB owl stamp set (earn with a $50 purchase), a piece of window sheet, and the Dainty Flowers DSP (earn with a $50 purchase). I’ve made two twisted easel cards for you, both of which use the Dainty Flowers DSP.
Here are my twisted easel cards:
The above card turned out to be much more involved than. I originally planned. Therefore, I created a second card for you to see how just trimming and scoring the DSP and cardstock can turn these papers into a beautiful card. Honestly, the DSP does all the work.
Here’s my second card:
There are so many videos for creating a twisted easel card. The one I saw a few weeks ago incorporated a book binding side, which I really liked. I can’t for the life of me find the original video I watched, and I am sorry for that problem.
For simplicity purposes, I am including the measurements and directions for the second card on this post. I’ve already got all the pieces cut for two more twisted easel cards, so I will include in progress pictures for one of them.. Actually, you are getting a sneak preview of my Make My Monday Challenge design team card going live on Monday, 01/16/2023.http://mmmchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
Rich Razzelberry cardstock base trimmed to 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches.
Score the base along the long side at 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 inches.
Next, score the 4-1/2 by 4-1/4 inch rectangle diagonally as shown in the picture below:
Please note that this is the inside view.
Trim two pieces of DSP to 4-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches. Trim one of the pieces diagonally to use for the back of the standing easel. For the example card, this is the Old Olive piece of DSP.
Trim DSP to 7/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the bookbinding on the front.
Next, trim a piece of white cardstock for the inside to 4-1/8 by 4-3/8 inches.
Finally, trim a piece of DSP for the envelope flap to 6 by 2-1/2 inches.
Assembly:
Adhere the bookbinding piece on the inside of the card. The picture below shows the placement of the adhesive for both the bookbinding part and the white cardstock on the inside.
I wrapped a piece of Old Olive ribbon around the piece of DSP for the bookbinding section on the front of the card.
Adhere the bookbinding piece to the front using dimensionals to allow for the ribbon.
Adhere the triangle piece of DSP to the outside of the card as shown below:
Adhere the whole rectangle of DSP to the bottom triangle on the outside of the card as shown below:
Please note that you only put adhesive on the bottom portion of the triangle. The top half of the DSP should not be adhered.
Stamp the sentiment for the front and inside of the card. The front sentiment comes from the Framed Florets stamp set.
Crop the sentiments. For the front, I used one of the square dies from the Stylish Shapes die set. The inside sentiment was also cropped using the banners from the Stylish Shapes dies.
Add dimensionals on the reverse of the sentiments, especially needed for the inside sentiment.
Please note that the angle of the standing easel will depend on the placement of your inside sentiment.
TA-DAH! You’ve created a twisted easel fun fold card. This card will fit in a medium SU! envelope.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated twisted easel card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Back to the Pals’ Blog Hop!
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on February 8th, when we will be creating projects for Random Acts of Kindness Week.

Welcome to the latest Cardz 4 Galz two-week challenge. Our host for # 180, Helen, chose the theme of using checks somewhere on a project. As always, the finished cards created by the whole design team are varied and awesome. I hope you are inspired to play along with us. When you are finished here, I hope you check out the challenge website and then join in the challenge.
Here’s my checked card:
While it is a bit early for Halloween, my it’s my daughter’s favorite holiday and she doesn’t think it’s ever too early to start decorating. Since this card came together relatively quickly, I’d call it an easy-peasy card.
Measurements:
The black base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I used a Pumpkin Pie mat and trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The Gingham DSP (designer series paper) on the front of the card measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches. I also trimmed a piece of this DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. This fabulous 12 by 12 inch pack can be found on page 59 of the current mini-catalog. Take a look at all the fun colors in this paper:
Since I used the Old Olive blends on the pumpkin leaves, I wanted to incorporate it on the card. Therefore, I used a (retired) piece of the Regals Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP and cropped a circle using the largest Stylish Shapes circle die. I also punched a 1-inch circle of Old Olive DSP for the envelope seal.
Then I cropped black cardstock swirl directly behind the pumpkins using one of the Painted Labels dies.
Stamping, Coloring, Finishing Up:
I stamped the pumpkins (from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp ) the sentiment ( from the Cutest Halloween stamp set) using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. The cute faces on the pumpkins come from the Cutest Halloween stamp set. Word of warning with these tiny photopolymer stamps – it’s really easy to lose them. Believe me, I may or may not have misplaced two of these little, tiny cuties. Just saying.
I used the Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Pumpkin Pie blends combos to color in the pumpkins. Then, I fussy cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals.
Next, I cropped the sentiment banner using one of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes die set. Here’s a couple of pictures showing how I made the tag half size:
The little piece of tape is Post-it tape, which you can find on A,mazon. It’s tremendously helpful! I also added dimensionals to the back of the sentiment banner.
I wrapped a length of the black and white checked ribbon around the DSP on the front of the card and tied it in a bow.
Then, I added the cropped circle and swirl using multipurpose liquid glue under the ribbon.
Next, I adhered the pumpkins and the sentiment banner.
Finally, I stamped a sentiment on the inside panel and adhered it to the inside of the card.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card envelope, and envelope seal set.

Again, thank you for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate your comments and your time.
Welcome to my two-fer card for today! You already know I enjoy combining two or more challenges, and I’ve done it again with this card. I took the colors from Sunday Stamps Challenge 287 and the layout, which I made into a slimline card, from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #565. I chose the Kindest Gnomes bundle for the card because I want to show the versatility of this set – it’s not just for Christmas.
Here’s my card:
Here are the challenge banners:
I used Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Tahitian Tide, Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede.
Measurements:
The Pacific Point base measures 9-1/2 by 7 inches, scored at 3-1/2 inches creating a tent fold card.
I wanted to separate the blue DSP from the base. Therefore, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 9-3/8 by 3-3/8 inches and adhered it to the base. The white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 9-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches.
Next, I trimmed a piece of the retired Waves DSP (designer series paper) to 9-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches and adhered that to the white using multipurpose liquid glue.
I trimmed the tree DSP, from the Happy Forest Friends DSP pack, to 2-1/4 inches by 9-1/4 inches. I chose the top part of this DSP because the bottom of it has Calypso Coral mushrooms on it.
The Pacific Point trim pieces came from the original piece of cardstock I used for the base. I ran it through the fern 3D embossing folder twice so I’d get the whole piece embossed. Then, I trimmed it in half and it was ready to be adhered to the back of the Happy Forest Friends DSP. Before I adhered the DSP to the front of the card, I wrapped a length of the Tahitian Tide ribbon around the DSP. Right now, it’s tied in a bow. However, if I wind up using this card for a guy, I can untie the bow and retie it in a square knot.
I picked the typeset vellum from the Layering Designs vellum. Using the 1-7/8 inch square die from the Stylish Shapes die set, I cropped three pieces.
That’s it for the measurements.
Stamping and Coloring:
I stamped all three gnomes for the front on white cardstock using the Momento Black Tuxedo ink, which won’t bleed when using the alcohol blends.. Then, I stamped two on the corners of the white inside cardstock.
After I let the ink thoroughly dry, I used blends to color them. I used the medium natural skin tones to color the 5 gnomes. Then, I dabbed the spot on each nose with the color lifting blend.
Next, I partially colored in all their beards using the light Smoky Slate blend,
I colored all the sleeves and shoes using both the light and dark Crumb Cake and Soft Suede blends.
The hats on each gnome were colored using both blends combos for Night of Navy, Old, Olive, and Tahitian Tide. I colored the pants on each, and the underside of the sitting gnome’s hat using just the light blend. Then, I used the black marker to highlight various parts of the gnomes, including the eyes and mouths.
Finally, I added clear Wink of Stella to the lantern for a bit of sparkle and cropped the three for the front of the card.
I used the front sentiment from the Happier than Happy stamp set. The inside sentiment comes from the Kindest Gnomes set.
After cropping the three gnomes, I added dimensionals to the back of each.
Finishing Up:
Time to add the vellum. Adhesives will show through the vellum, but I needed to get it adhered. My favorite way to adhere vellum includes using multipurpose liquid adhesive, my silicone mat and a make-up sponge. I put enough liquid adhesive on the back to cover the whole piece of vellum. Then, I use the make-up sponge to spread the adhesive on the whole back of the vellum. Since the whole piece is covered, the adhesive won’t show.
Next, I added a gnome to each piece of vellum.
Then, I cropped the sentiment and using the label die in the Stylish Shapes die set. Then, I cropped the same size banner in Pacific point and cut it in half. I added it to the back of the sentiment and added dimensionals.
Finally, I added the colored and stamped white cardstock panel to the inside of the card.

Welcome to my blog! This time, I followed the sketch and inspiration photo from the Fusion Hello Hat challenge. I used the Rings of Love DSP (designer series paper), which can be earned for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration. This DSP coordinates with the Rings of Love bundle found in the current July – December mini catalog.
Here’s my card:
Here’s the challenge banner from Fusion:
Measurements:
The Poppy Parade base measures 11 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent fold card.
After I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. I trimmed another piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.
Next, I trimmed two pieces of the Rings of Love DSP to 2-1/4 by 4-1/4 inches. These two patterns are the front and back of one 12 x 12 inch DSP.
I also trimmed a piece of the DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap and 4 by 7/8 inches for the inside of the card.
I used scraps of Poppy Parade and white cardstock for the sentiment labels, which I cropped using the Stylish Shapes dies. If you loved the Stitched Shapes dies, you really need to add the Stylish Shapes dies to your wish list!
Finally, I punched a 1 inch circle from the DSP to use for the envelope seal. Then, I ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker to finish the seal off.
What I Did:
Once I trimmed the DSP pieces for the front of the card, I needed to do something to make sure they would pop off the white cardstock. Therefore, I used my Poppy Parade marker to outline both pieces of DSP. By doing this, I didn’t have to use a mat under each piece.
Both the sentiment on the outside and inside come from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set. I used Night of Navy ink for both of them.
After cropping the two chevron banners, I added dimensionals under each of them.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to attach all the other elements of the card.
With that, I finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
