Freshly Made Sketches 452 and Color Throwdown 610 came together in this card. I took advantage of all the white space for FMS610, and the ctd610 colors added interest and movement.
Here’s my card:
Here are the challenge banners:
Measurements
I chose Cherry Cobbler, Bumblebee, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede for the autumn colors. I couldn’t figure out whether the yellow-ish option had more yellow or pumpkin color so I used both. Might not really meet the color challenge, but it’s my solution.
First, I decided to use Bumblebee for the base of the card. The cardstock measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent card.
The first mat of Soft Suede measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
I trimmed two pieces of Whisper White, one for the front and one for the inside. Both pieces measure 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
#simplestamping
I used the Forever Fern stamp set to stamp the diagonally opposite corners. The splatter stamp from this set added a bit more texture to the corners. Then, I added just one splatter in the opposite corners just so it wasn’t quite so stark.
After stamping the corners, I needed to stamp the sentiment from Autumn Greetings in Soft Suede. Originally, I was going to stamp the greeting on a white oval and border it with a bit larger Soft Suede oval. However, I am thrilled that I thought about the double-time stamping option instead.
After cropping the stitched oval, I decided that I would just create an outline on the outside of the oval. To accomplish this, I used the Soft Suede marker to create the edge.
On the inside, I stamped the Cherry Cobbler and Bumblebee leaf stems and added one splatter stamp in each of the four corners.
The inside sentiment is also from the Autumn Greetings stamp set.
Time to finish the card
I used the multipurpose glue to adhere everything except the sentiment oval. Using dimensionals under the sentiment added a bit of height.
Finally, I needed to take care of decorating the envelope. Instead of DSP on the envelope flap, I used the Forever Fern to stamp the flap and on the front of the card.
With that, I’d finished this card/envelope set.

Hello and welcome back to another Make My Monday challenge! This challenge’s theme is clean and simple. I decided to use the Whale of a Time suite for my card.
Here’s my card:
I really don’t know what part of this suite I like the most. For this card, it’s the color combination of Just Jade and Pretty Peacock. The 3D Seabed embossing folder might carry this card. It could be the wave pattern DSP, or even the DSP whale. Yes, I said I punched the whale from the DSP from this set. There’s a whale stamp allowing you to create your own color combination. The punch also includes the adorable water piece for the water spout on top. Cute!
However, I really wanted this card to be as simple as possible. To me, that meant just three elements and the embossed background. Since I used white for the embossed background, the card remained pretty clean. Truth be told, I really think I created this following a sketch challenge, but for the life of me, I can’t remember which one.
Measurements
I used Just Jade for the card base, which is 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, and scored at 5-1/2 inches.
The Pretty Peacock mat measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I cropped the Pretty Peacock Stitched So Sweetly label from the middle of the mat layer to save on cardstock.
A Stitched So Sweetly die was also used to crop the DSP wave pattern paper. I don’t really know how I decided to put both of the Stitched So Sweetly cropped layers together, but it totally works.
The medium square from the Stitched Shapes die set provided the perfect square for the sentiment block.
For the inside, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to my standard 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. I used the sentiment and swimming fish from the Whale Done stamp set on the inside.
I cut a piece of the wave DSP for the envelope flap to 2-5/8 inches by 6 inches.
Here’s the inside of the card:
Stamping and Assembly
I stamped both the front and inside sentiment using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
Aren’t those fish on the inside super cute? Hopefully, you can see the color variations on each one, which was relatively easy to achieve. I used the Just Jade marker to color the all the fish on the stamp, then went back and randomly colored the stamp using my Pretty Peacock marker. Stamp, color, repeat across the card and on the bottom. While I had the stamp and markers out, I stamped a line of fish along the bottom of the front of the envelope using the same coloring pattern.
Once I had all my pieces, it took very little time to assemble the card. Using the multipurpose glue, I attached the white background to the Pretty Peacock layer. Then, I attached those to the Just Jade card base.
I carefully lined up the two Stitched So Sweetly label die pieces and I couldn’t believe how well they fit together.
There’s a layer of dimensionals under the sentiment block.
I wanted the whale to really stand up off the card, so I used a double layer of mini-dimensionals on the back of it. The double layer means that extra postage needs to be on the card, but I think it’s worth another quarter.
Next, I adhered the inside white cardstock panel.
Finally, I added the DSP to the envelope flap then trimmed it. With that, I’d finished this coordinated card/envelope set.
I hope you will play along with our challenge! I look forward to seeing your creations in our challenge gallery!

This week, Stampin’ Up! surprised their demonstrators with a PDF set of COVID-19 sentiments. I immediately used them to create cards to send to my family. This sentiment is perfect for us because, like so many other people, we have been sharing locations with tp. When we find some, we pick up as much as allowed in order to share with other family members.
Since I incorporated two different color challenges, I used one sets of colors for five cards and another set for the other five. The layout is from a sketch challenge, but I missed the deadline for that.
I am having a terrible technical time with this post tonight. Hopefully, I will be able to post the challenge banners here instead of after my card.
Here are my cards:
Using What I Had Before It Retires
It’s pretty easy to see which card matches which color challenge. For each of the challenges, I used 6 x 6 DSP from the various color families. The mats used Bermuda Bay or Rich Razzleberry. Thankfully, I had retired ribbon in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. In order to create a frame around the 6 x 6 DSP pieces, I used Basic Black mats.
When I printed the sentiments, I printed enough of the particular page with the tp sentiment. Isn’t it perfect?
The inside sentiment is shown below:
Cute! Appropriate, right?
When making multiple cards , I’ve found it much easier to do each element and then assembly line the card together. Therefore, I had little piles of DSP strips, sentiments cropped, ribbons, base cardstock, and black mats all cut out. I even had the dimensionals on the back of the sentiments done and they had their own pile. This allowed me to create the cards in chunks throughout my virtual teaching day in 5 minute breaks over two days. Easy Peasy really and truly.
What About the Greats?
After I had written and addressed all the cards, I thought I needed to send a card to each of my great-nieces and great-nephew.
Here are those cards:

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. Hop, hop! This month’s projects celebrate Easter, so prepare yourself for a variety of gorgeous, Easter-themed projects. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Welcome Easter
This cling stamp set can be found in the mini-catalog on page 45. Don’t overlook it because it is an “Easter” stamp set. I’ve made some adorable baby cards with this set as well. You can see those baby cards here.
For the InKing Royalty blog hop, I’ve once again created two cards using the same supplies. I’ve created the first one for a beginner lever stamper. The second card is a fun fold card, but it is one of the easier fun folds.
Here are my cards:
Front of fun fold card
Inside of fun fold card
For Mojo Monday this week, hosted on the Poetic Artistry blog, Julee included three layout challenges at once to cover the next 6 weeks.
Here are the layouts I chose to use today:
Follow the Sketch
I used the standard A2 size for each of the cards. The fun fold card started with a piece of 4.25″ by 11″ Gorgeous Grape cardstock scored at 5.5″ for the base. To create the flap, simply score the front of the card at 2.75″ and fold it back on the score line. I used the Highland Heather Subtles 6 x 6 DSP for the panels, mounted on Whisper White.
The “regular” card started with a 5.5″ by 8.5″ piece of Gorgeous Grape for the card base, scored and folded at 4.25″. I lucked out and used scraps I already had for the panels on the front.
Next came the bunnies. I had the “brilliant” idea to color the bunny with Highland Heather. After all, there are purple plush Easter bunnies, right? Well, coloring a bunny purple was not a good idea. I wound up with a bunny that looked like cotton candy. Don’t believe me? See my purple bunny below.
Am I right or am I right? Cotton candy, or creepy. Take your pick.
Therefore, I went back to what I know works: the Smoky Slate blends combo and the light Petal Pink blend.
Bunny Circles
Since I’d used this bunny for the baby cards, I knew I could use the Stitched Shapes die for the bunny. The mat is one of the scalloped circle dies. This worked perfectly for the regular card. While dry-fitting all the pieces together, I found that the sentiment fit perfectly under the gingham DSP. Yeah!
When I tried to create the circle for the fun fold card required some trial and error. In order to have the sentiment on the circle, I needed a much larger Whisper White circle. I wound up using the largest scalloped die from the Layering Circles die set. Then I encountered a bit of a problem because I didn’t have any dies or punches big enough to create a mat. Never fear, former math teacher here (I teach Social Studies now). I searched for, and found, my nifty compass, which allowed me to create a circle which would be just the right size. Then, I fussy cut the circle. Easy peasy! If you have found yourself in the same situation, I would strongly suggest purchasing one of these handy tools. The directions are included on the packaging. I’ve had elementary school kids use this, so I have all the faith in the world that you can use it as well.
Here’s the Amazon information:
Finishing Up
After putting all the pieces together, I decided I needed a little something else on the bunny circles. I grabbed the small bee stamp from the Welcome Easter set and stamped it to the right of each of the bunnies. Since it was just flat, and I wanted something more than flat, I used the fine tip glue pen to create an epoxy effect on the bees and their trails. Just make sure you give the glue ample time to dry or you will have a mess. Don’t ask me how I know that.
Finally, I adhered a piece of the Subtles 6 x 6 DSP to both envelope flaps. Then, I stamped a row of little bees and their trails on the bottom of both envelopes.
I can easily create enough of these cards for my daughter, nieces and nephews and my grand-nieces as well, especially if I just use the “regular” card layout.

Paper Players 481 is a Color Challenge
Color challenges are fun, and sometimes challenging! This one, however, was simple for me. I’d previously earned the punch for these fabulous flowers, and I recently earned the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set. I wanted to use the pair ASAP, and this challenge seemed to be a perfect match!
Here’s the challenge banner:
Here’s my card:
Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Coastal Cabana is such a calming color combination. Therefore, I wanted to keep the card clean to highlight just the colors.
I took layout inspiration from the current Fusion challenge, but made some adjustments. I think I am going to have to use the Thoughtful Blooms set to create a card without adjusting the layout and using the posted color scheme.
In order to get the branches and leaves I wanted, I used both the branches with leaves and the leaf trio stamps. I stamped all of these leaves and branches using Coastal Cabana. After stamping going up the left side, I stamped some leaves behind where the sentiment square would be placed.
I popped each of the seven flowers on dimensionals. Then I put some colored pearls on the center of each. At that point, I thought that I really needed something else, some sparkle. However, I didn’t want to clutter up the clean card. Wink of Stella to the rescue. It’s so difficult take a photo of the Wink of Stella, but I think you can see the sparkles on the flowers in the picture below:
As Always,
Thank you so very much for stopping by my blog today. I appreciate your the time you take to read, and comment, on my blog.
Have a Peachy Day!
