Welcome to the 200th Cardz 4 Galz challenge! Amazing! Our host for #200, Billie A., chose slimline birthday cards as our theme. When you are finished here, I hope you will pop over to the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team members created. I thoroughly enjoy watching the projects get posted on the challenge admin site, and I am sure you will be inspired to play along. Don’t forget to enter your project into our challenge. I’m that person – the one who creates a card for a challenge and then forgets to post it to the challenge sites. Not tonight!
At first, I wasn’t sold on the new In Colors for 2023 – 2025, but they are quickly growing on me. My card for this challenge uses Boho Blue, Copper Clay, the Fresh as a Daisy DSP (designer series paper) and the Fresh as a Daisy Suite Collection (page 110 – 111 in the annual catalog).
Here’s my card
Isn’t the Copper Clay gorgeous with the Boho Blue? Stunning!
Measurements and Such:
The Copper Clay base measures 9 by 8 inches, scored at 4 inches.
Trim a piece of the Fresh as a Daisy DSP to 4-3/8 by 3-7/8 inches.
Crop the daisy pieces and centers from white and Copper Clay cardstock.
Stamp the greeting using VersaMark on a scrap of Copper Clay cardstock.
Cover the greeting with white embossing powder and heat set.
Crop with the banner die from the Cheerful Daisies die set.
Wrap a length of white baker’s twine around the DSP 3 times and secure the ends on the back of the DSP using tear-&-tape.
Adhere the DSP to the cardstock using multipurpose liquid adhesive.
Use white baker’s twine to tie a double bow around the baker’s twine.
Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and daisies. Make sure you put the dimensionals on the greeting banner so they straddle the baker’s twine.
Adhere the daisies and greeting banner to the DSP.
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-14 by 3-3/4 inches for the inside of the card.
Stamp the greeting and adhere the white cardstock to the inside panel.
Use a legal size envelope for this slimline card. The ones I have ae 4-1/8 by 9-1/2 inches.
That’s it. This card came together pretty quickly because the DSP does all the work.
Welcome to my two-fer card for today! You already know I enjoy combining two or more challenges, and I’ve done it again with this card. I took the colors from Sunday Stamps Challenge 287 and the layout, which I made into a slimline card, from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #565. I chose the Kindest Gnomes bundle for the card because I want to show the versatility of this set – it’s not just for Christmas.
Here’s my card:
Here are the challenge banners:
I used Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Tahitian Tide, Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede.
Measurements:
The Pacific Point base measures 9-1/2 by 7 inches, scored at 3-1/2 inches creating a tent fold card.
I wanted to separate the blue DSP from the base. Therefore, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 9-3/8 by 3-3/8 inches and adhered it to the base. The white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 9-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches.
Next, I trimmed a piece of the retired Waves DSP (designer series paper) to 9-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches and adhered that to the white using multipurpose liquid glue.
I trimmed the tree DSP, from the Happy Forest Friends DSP pack, to 2-1/4 inches by 9-1/4 inches. I chose the top part of this DSP because the bottom of it has Calypso Coral mushrooms on it.
The Pacific Point trim pieces came from the original piece of cardstock I used for the base. I ran it through the fern 3D embossing folder twice so I’d get the whole piece embossed. Then, I trimmed it in half and it was ready to be adhered to the back of the Happy Forest Friends DSP. Before I adhered the DSP to the front of the card, I wrapped a length of the Tahitian Tide ribbon around the DSP. Right now, it’s tied in a bow. However, if I wind up using this card for a guy, I can untie the bow and retie it in a square knot.
I picked the typeset vellum from the Layering Designs vellum. Using the 1-7/8 inch square die from the Stylish Shapes die set, I cropped three pieces.
That’s it for the measurements.
Stamping and Coloring:
I stamped all three gnomes for the front on white cardstock using the Momento Black Tuxedo ink, which won’t bleed when using the alcohol blends.. Then, I stamped two on the corners of the white inside cardstock.
After I let the ink thoroughly dry, I used blends to color them. I used the medium natural skin tones to color the 5 gnomes. Then, I dabbed the spot on each nose with the color lifting blend.
Next, I partially colored in all their beards using the light Smoky Slate blend,
I colored all the sleeves and shoes using both the light and dark Crumb Cake and Soft Suede blends.
The hats on each gnome were colored using both blends combos for Night of Navy, Old, Olive, and Tahitian Tide. I colored the pants on each, and the underside of the sitting gnome’s hat using just the light blend. Then, I used the black marker to highlight various parts of the gnomes, including the eyes and mouths.
Finally, I added clear Wink of Stella to the lantern for a bit of sparkle and cropped the three for the front of the card.
I used the front sentiment from the Happier than Happy stamp set. The inside sentiment comes from the Kindest Gnomes set.
After cropping the three gnomes, I added dimensionals to the back of each.
Finishing Up:
Time to add the vellum. Adhesives will show through the vellum, but I needed to get it adhered. My favorite way to adhere vellum includes using multipurpose liquid adhesive, my silicone mat and a make-up sponge. I put enough liquid adhesive on the back to cover the whole piece of vellum. Then, I use the make-up sponge to spread the adhesive on the whole back of the vellum. Since the whole piece is covered, the adhesive won’t show.
Next, I added a gnome to each piece of vellum.
Then, I cropped the sentiment and using the label die in the Stylish Shapes die set. Then, I cropped the same size banner in Pacific point and cut it in half. I added it to the back of the sentiment and added dimensionals.
Finally, I added the colored and stamped white cardstock panel to the inside of the card.

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge # 291. I am hosting this challenge theme, and I chose slimline cards. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge blog to see what all the other design team members created. Each one is fabulous!
Here’s my slimline card:
Measurements and Such:
The Misty Moonlight base measures 8-1/2 inches by 7 inches, scored at 3-1/2 inches to form a tent card.
I used a piece of the Beauty of the Earth DSP (designer series paper) and trimmed it to 8-1/4 inches by 3-1/4 inches.
The white panel for the inside of the card measures 3-1/3 inches by 8-1/4 inches.
For the sentiment, I used the Biggest Wish stamp set. First, I stamped “HAPPY” in Cinnamon Cider. Then, I stamped “birthday” using Misty Moonlight.
The sentiment rectangle, and the two mats behind it, were all cropped using the rectangle stitched dies.
I used the TomBow multipurpose glue, which is my favorite adhesive, for all the paper elements, with the exception of the Cinnamon Cider mat for the sentiment. The Misty Moonlight cardstock is adhered directly to the DSP.
Then, I tied a square knot on a piece of the Misty Moonlight ribbon that I’d wrapped around the DSP. This ribbon goes over the Misty Moonlight sentiment mat.
Finally, I popped the sentiment block up on dimensionals and placed it over the ribbon.
At this point, I thought I had finished. However, when I came back to the card later, I decided that I needed to add something else. So, I used three of the 2020 – 2022 In Color enamel Cinnamon Cider dots on the top, left-hand corner of the DSP.
Ta-da! My simple slimline was complete!

Welcome to the Make My Monday challenge #154. Wei chose a slimline theme for the challenge starting today, August 2, 2021. I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created as well. We all look forward to seeing what you create in our gallery!
Here’s my card:
Before I begin, I need to let you know that this blog post will be very short, but hopefully sweet. As I’ve said before, I live in Central Florida, about halfway between Orlando and Daytona Beach. We have been having heat index temperatures between 98-102 for quite a while. Saturday our air conditioning went out and my blue room, aka craft studio, is already the warmest room in the house. I feel like the Wicked Witch in that I am melting. So, short and sweet, I hope.
Measurements:
The Pear Pizazz base measures 9 inches by 8 inches, scored at 4 inches to create a tent card.
The white cardstock on the front of the card measures 3-7/8 inches by 8-7/8 inches.
The white cardstock for the inside panel measures 3-3/4 inches by 8-3/4 inches.
Everything else on the front of the card comes from scraps.
One day I need to explain how I keep my scraps. I always say I am using scraps, but without an explanation of how they are stored, it might not make sense.
What I Did:
I colored the white cardstock for the front using my blending brushes. Balmy Blue provides a nice color for the sky and lets the white clouds pop. I used Pear Pizazz for the grassy area.
Everything else, right down to the grass stamp, comes from the Sale-a-Bration catalog! You know what that means: FREE STUFF with a qualifying purchase.
The Counting Sheep stamp set is FREE with a $50 purchase, and the Sheep Dies are FREE with a $50 purchase. So, with a $100 purchase, you get the stamp set and dies FREE. FREE is good!
Since sheep are not always pure white, I used a blending brush and smoky slate ink to give all three sheep some color. The stamping blends made coloring their legs, ears, and faces a breeze.
Their adorable little party hats, also found in the stamp set and die set, are colored with Balmy Blue and Old Ol
