Welcome back to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 221. Our host, Lynda, picked Spring Flowers with Punches or Dies for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
I needed two of the same card, just different colors. Here are my cards:
I used Highland Heather for the first card and Starry Sky for the second. The dimensions and assembly are the same for both.
Measurements:
The base of each card measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
Next, I trimmed a piece of 6 x 6 inch DSP (designer series paper) to4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
I also trimmed a piece of each DSP to 6 x 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. I punched 1-inch circles and used the flip side pattern for the envelope seals. Then, I ran those 2 circles through my XYRON create-a-sticker to finish the seal.
The white cardstock on the inside of each card measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I used the Color and Contour stamp set and coordinating dies for the flowers. I stamped each on white cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. These flowers are two-steps, so then I stamped the floral color images.
Stamp the sentiment in black ink and crop using a banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set.
The colored cardstock and the white cardstock layers were cropped using the Scalloped Contour die set.
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces of the card, except as noted below.
Adhere the DSP to the base.
Next, adhere the two scalloped layers together and wrap a piece of silver & white sheer ribbon around those two pieces, then tie it in a bow.
The ribbon is thin enough to use liquid glue to adhere it to the DSP.
Add dimensionals to the cropped floral pieces and adhere to the front of the cards.
Adhere the floral spray so that it fits under the ribbon.
Add dimensionals to the far right side of the sentiment banner and liquid glue on the left side. Adhere to the card.
With that, I’d finished these coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal sets.
I’ve already ordered some of these products and have more on the way. I can’t wait to start playing with them! Take a look at just some of the new products available!
I love the script used for these sentiments. I’ve used the birthday one, and it fits so well on a landscape 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 inch card! You can see that card here.
The stamps for these adorable critters are two -stamps: the outline image is on one side and the animal is on the other. The sample card uses the animal stamp.
The Drizzling Droplets stamp and the Latte Love suite arrived yesterday, and I’ve already got a sketch challenge in mind for the Latte Love products. I’ll be playing with this tomorrow.
This suite would be suitable for masculine or feminine cards, and I can’t wait to get my creative mojo flowing with the whole suite.

Here’s my party time card:
Since I’ve used the book binding easel fold, this card also qualifies for the Creative Creases Challenge. If you love fun folds, this challenge is for you because that’s the only requirement!
I’ve already posted two of these bookbinding easel fun fold cards. You can see them here and here. The second link has directions and step-by-step pictures for creating this fun fold card.
For today’s card, instead of using a full front panel, I used two diagonal panels.
For today’s card, I used two diagonal panels instead of the whole panel for the front.
To create the diagonal panels, trim a piece of DSP to 1/8 inch less than your width and height of the front part of the card.
Then, trim the DSP in half diagonally from the top right side down to the bottom left side.
If the panels don’t fit the way you want, you can trim down the sides down.
HINT: Don’t trim on the diagonal line because the pattern won’t line back up properly.
For this card, I used the scalloped border die from the Scalloped Contours die set and a piece of an adhesive foam sheet to create the stop for the easel part of the card.
I’m kind of stinking pleased the way the inside Scalloped Contour white cardstock sits under the scalloped stop for the easel.
These cards are super cute and fun to make! I hope you try one out soon!

Welcome to the newest two-week Cardz 4 Galz challenge. For challenge #193, our host, Pamela, picked Red with Pink for a color challenge. When you finish here, I hope you will visit our challenge website to see what the rest of the design team created. It’s always so interesting to see how each person put their individual mark on the challenge.
Here’s my red and pink card, which pretty much evolved as I went along:
I used retired DSP (designer series paper), two of the Scalloped Contour dies, vellum cardstock, and the Framed Florets and Art Gallery stamp sets. The bronze butterflies were completely a last minute addition.
What I Did:
The Poppy Parade base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
I cropped the Petal Pink cardstock using the largest Scalloped Contours die.
Next, I trimmed the DSP to fit inside the frame of the scallops. It measures 3-3/8 by 4-3/4 inches. I also trimmed a piece of DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap and punched a one inch circle to use to create the envelope seal.
Then, I cropped the top layer of vellum cardstock using a smaller die from Scalloped Contours.
I stamped the flower using the stamps in the Art Gallery set using Poppy Parade ink. To get the variations in the color, I stamped off once for the base part of the flower.
Then I stamped the leaves and stem using Soft Suede.
Next, I stamped the sentiment using one from the Framed Florets stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
Then, I cropped the sentiment using a rectangle die. I used the coordinating dies for the flower and stem. Both pieces had dimensionals added
After trimming Petal Pink and Poppy Parade matting layers, I added dimensionals to the underside of the sentiment.
I adhered the Petal Pink scalloped layer and the DSP layers to the base of the card using multipurpose liquid glue.
Next, I added the flower pieces and sentiment panel to the vellum. Once they were in place, I could add liquid glue to the back of the vellum so the pieces would hide the adhesive.
I tied a triple bow using linen thread and attached it using mini glue dots.
I added a piece of white cardstock measuring 5-1/4 by 4 inches using liquid glue.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Welcome to the newest Make My Monday challenge! Caz chose the theme of springtime for challenge #174. When you finish here, I hope you will pop over to the challenge site and be inspired by the projects created by the rest of the design team. I’m always blown away by the talent these wonderful ladies present for each and every challenge.
Yesterday was Mother’s Day in the U.S., and I am sharing my card for my mom. I went with clean and simple with a gorgeous color combination of Poppy Parade, Pool Party, and white. At first, I wasn’t sold on the Flowering Fields DSP (designer series paper). However, I’m now in love and am going to be ordering this DSP quickly before it goes away when the mini-catalog sales period ends. I can see myself using this color combination over and over in the next few months. The DSP does all the work on this card.
Here’s my card:
Measurements and Such:
I started with a Poppy Parade base measuring 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, and scored it at 5-1/2 inches.
The white cardstock layer on the outside measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I cropped the sentiment from the center of that cardstock since no one will see the ugly center.
I started with a 4 inch by 5-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock for the inside panel as well. Then I used the scalloped die from the Scalloped Contour dies. I did eyeball the placement of the die so it would be relatively even on both ends.
The Flowering Fields DSP on the front measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. I outlined the DSP with the brush end of my Poppy Parade marker.
Next, I trimmed a piece of coordinating DSP from the Flowering Fields papers to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. I used the same DSP for the inside of the card. That piece measures 5-1/4 inches by 1-1/2 inches.
This Poppy Parade ribbon is too thick, for the lack of a better word, for a bow. However, it works beautifully for a square knot.
The outside sentiment comes from the Strong and Beautiful stamp set. I used a sentiment from In Your Words for the inside. Even though it’s probably a birthday sentiment, it works for Mother’s Day as well.
I used a piece of leftover Pool Party cardstock for the mat of the outside sentiment.
Using my dark Pool Party blend, I colored three basic pearls to match the color combination.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap, punched a 1 inch circle and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal. With that, this coordinated card, envelope, and seal set was complete.
Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today!

The Hello Ladybug bundle, found in the January – June mini-catalog, consists of a photopolymer stamp set and a ladybug builder punch. This bundle is so stinking cute! I used pretty much the same materials to create two cards, each of which is based on a challenge. I’ve loved the black, red, and white color combination since I was a teenager, and it just fits these ladybugs to a tee!
Here’s my Try Stamping on Tuesday #548 card and the challenge banner:
Here’s the card using the Fusion Bookshelf challenge and the accompanying banner:
The inside of the cards are very similiar:
Measurements:
Both cards start with a Real Red base measuring 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
The striped DSP (designer series paper) is just one of the many black and white patterns from the host DSP pack of 48 – 12×12 inch papers. If you love black and white patterns, don’t miss this one! Each piece measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I also trimmed two pieces of DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flaps.
I trimmed 2 pieces of white cardstock to my usual 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the cards.
That’s it for the measurements.
Putting It Together:
Next, I used scraps of Basic Black and Real Red cardstock to punch out all the ladybugs.
I also needed 3 two inch circles punched from cardstock vellum to go under the ladybugs, which I popped up on dimensionals..
Then I cropped the scallop design from the Scallop Contours die set for the TSOT card. I used a scalloped frame from the same die set for the sentiment. In addition to the white frame, I cropped two red ones to frame the sentiment panel. Since I wanted the Fusion card to be clean and simple, I stamped the sentiment onto the embossed strip. It would’ve been easier if I had done that before using the embossing folder. However, the Stamparatus made it relatively easy.
While I was using the cut and emboss machine, I embossed a strip of white for the Fusion Bookshelf card using the bark 3D embossing folder.
Then I wrapped Real Red sheer ribbon around each of the white panels and tied a bow for each. I used a mini-glue dot under each bow to hold it in place.
My favorite adhesive is the multipurpose liquid glue, and I used that to adhere everything except the ladybugs. I even used it to adhere the vellum to the DSP, making sure that I only placed the glue where it would be covered by a ladybug.
I finished the fronts off with three red dots on each white panel.
After stamping the sentiment on the inside panels, I stamped that adorable ladybug in the bottom corner. Since the stamp set is photopolymer, the two-stamp process for this cute critter was a breeze.
Finishing Up:
I also stamped a ladybug on the bottom right-hand corner of the front of the envelope.
I wanted something red for the envelope seals, so I stamped a bunch of the dots used for the ladybug wings on a scrap of Real Red. Then, I punched out two one-inch circles and ran them through my XYRON create-a-sticker machine.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flaps.
With that, I’d finished two coordinated card, envelope, and seal sets of cute critters. Adorable!
