We look forward to seeing your creations there!
I decided to make a Not So Spooky Halloween side-step easel card.
Here’s my card:
I wish I could say that I thought to combine the Just Kiddin’ stamp and die set with the Potions & Spells bundle. However, I actually found it on Carolyn Green’s Pinterest account and adapted it for my card.
I’ve already posted a number of cards using the Potions & Spells bundle and you can find them here, here, and here.
I also used Connie Stewart’s side-step easel card video tutorial for the side-step easel card directions, which you can find here. Connie’s tutorials are step-by-step and easy to follow. For this card, if you can trim and score paper, you can totally make this card!
As always, I will be uploading this fun fold to the Creative Creases Challenge where the theme is always Anything Goes with a Fun Fold.
Measurements:
I like to make templates for fun fold card so I don’t have to start from scratch each time. I keep these templates in a journal for easy reference.
Here’s my set of templates for this card:
Trim a piece of Highland Heather 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
After punching a 1-inch circle from a different pattern of Highland Heather, run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
Once you have your pieces, follow Connie Stewart’s video directions. Basically an easy-peasy card!
Stamping, Coloring, Cropping:
There are dimensionals under the pile of books and the little wizard
I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the rest of the card pieces
Use Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp all the pieces to be colored with blends
Use the following blends combos for the coloring:
Pumpkin Pie
Highland Heather
Crumb Cake (book pages and bird)
Flirty Flamingo (slippers)
Granny Apple Green (dark only for the cat eyes)
Smoky Slate (cat)
Basic Black marker to outline the books
Crop all the pieces
Use Early Espresso 6 x 6 inch DSP to crop two of the broom handles
I wanted some height for the broom, but didn’t want to try to use dimensionals so I used two layers for each piece
Crop two of the sweeping part of the broom green specialty glimmer paper
Adhere the two brooms together
Sandwich the broom handles between the two layers of the sweeping part and adhere
Use black baker’s twine to add a bow to the broom and adhere with a mini-glue dot
Stamp the bubbles and stars onto the white cardstock pieces using Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green ink
Stamp the sentiments using Gorgeous Grape ink
Use the Pumpkin Pie dark blend to color the checkered ribbon
Adhere the ends of the ribbon behind the white cardstock using tear & tape
Adhere the layers of black and white cardstock and adhere to the card base pieces
After running a piece of Highland Heather cardstock through the Cut & Emboss machine using the circles embossing folder, trim it to 2-3/4 by 5-3/8 inches
After outlining the Highland Heather cardstock using your black marker, adhere it to the back part of the easel
With that, I’d finished this coordinated fun fold card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

This month, the theme is Orange Theory. We hope to inspire you with our creations using the color orange today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I couldn’t resist an orange and black Halloween card. My daughter’s favorite holiday is Halloween, with all others tied for second. Therefore, every year I make her more than one Halloween card, and you can see the other one I made her here.
Here’s my z-fold orange and black Halloween card:
As with all my fun folds, I am adding this card to the Creative Creases Gallery.
Measurements:
The Basic Black base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches
The black cardstock piece for the front flap measures 3-3/4 by 5 inches
I’m still finishing up the previous year’s 6 x 6 inch DSP in Pumpkin Pie, which is trimmed to 5-3/8 by 2 inches
I needed to trim another piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
Then, I punched a 1-inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal, and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker
After I ran a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock through my Cut & Emboss machine using the exposed brick folder, I trimmed it to 3-5/8 by 4-7/8 inches
HINT: Remember, if you trim the cardstock before embossing it, you will wind up with a smaller piece of cardstock than you wanted/needed
Finally, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside of the card
Thankfully, the other elements on the card were cropped from scraps of white and Crumb Cake cardstock
Stamping, Coloring, Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose glue to adhere pieces together
I used Gorgeous Grape ink to stamp the front and inside sentiments.
Then I used the Granny Apple Green ink pad for the accent stamps on the front sentiment panel
After cropping the outside sentiment using a Nested Essential die, I outlined it using a Basic Black marker and added dimensionals to the back of it so they would straddle the ribbon
Since I wanted black and Pumpkin Pie ribbon, I needed to color the Black and Very Vanilla ribbon using the dark Pumpkin Pie blend marker
I adhered the ribbon using the ribbon saving technique and you can find pictures of what I did here or here
After adhering the ribbon to the dry-embossed Pumpkin Pie cardstock, adhere the cardstock to the black cardstock
I cropped two sets of the broom pieces from scraps of Crumb Cake cardstock, which I adhered together to add just a touch of height
I used the Crumb Cake combo blends to color the broom handle and sweeper
Then, I used a Crumb Cake marker to accent the sweeper lines and to add some sort of wood looking handle
Stamp the cat the stack of books (for the inside) using Momento Tuxedo Black ink on scrap pieces of white and crop both pieces
I cropped another cat from white cardstock to add just a bit of height so I could tuck the cat in behind the sentiment
I used Smoky Slate dark and light blends to color the cat and the dark Granny Apple Green blend for the cat’s eyes
Then I colored the books using the light Pumpkin Pie and dark Highland Heather blends
For the middle two books, I used the light and dark Crumb Cake blends and outlined them using a black marker
Adhere the Pumpkin Pie DSP to the front flap
Add liquid glue to only the left side of the black cardstock flap piece and adhere to the DSP
HINT: If you add liquid glue to the whole flap, the card won’t open
Adhere the book stack to the lower left side of the inside white cardstock so that it hides behind the Pumpkin Pie flap when the card is closed
Adhere the white cardstock to the inside
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
Back to the Pals’ Blog Hop:
There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Random Acts of Kindness.
Before I finish the post, I just wanted to share that I live in west Central Florida and that means today and tomorrow are going to be wild because of Milton’s very much unwanted appearance. I feel absolutely terrible for the people on the southern Gulf Coast because they are getting hit for the second time in two weeks. Helene caused a great deal of damage, but Milton is so much worse. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them, and I very humbly ask you to keep them and all of those impacted in your thoughts.

Welcome to the newest Make My Monday bi-weekly challenge #236. Our host for this MMM challenge, Pamela , chose Kid Friendly as the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
Here’s my Kid Friendly Halloween card in a box:
My daughter’s favorite holiday is Halloween, with everything else tying for second. I made this card in a box as just one of her Halloween cards for this year.
I found this video from Wendy Cranford for the tutorial for this rectangle card in a box. Her directions are so easy to follow. The first time I watched the video straight through. Then watched and paused it as needed when I was creating my own box.
I realized I didn’t have any more Pumpkin Pie 6 x 6 inch DSP for the bottom sections of the card, so I embossed some Pumpkin Pie cardstock using the (retired) 3D Brick embossing folder. I was also running low on the Gorgeous Grape DSP, so I had to. use two different patterns for the flaps.
In addition to the measurements given in the tutorial, I trimmed a piece of Gorgeous Grape DSP to 2-1/2 by 6 inches for the envelope flap
Then, I punched a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP for the envelope seal and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker
I only used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the pieces. It’s already a bulky card, and dimensionals would’ve made it bulkier, which would cause a problem with mailing.
I used the Potions & Spells bundle along with a Nested Essentials die for this card in a box
Anything that needed to be colored I stamped using Momento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock
I colored the parrot using Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake blends
The eyes for the cat are Granny Apple Green, and the cat itself was colored using the Smoky Slate blends.
I used Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape, and Crumb Cake blends for the book stack, then outlined them with a Basic Black marker
I wanted to add some depth to the broom, so I cropped and adhered two layers of brooms together
After cropping the broom from Crumb Cake cardstock, I colored and outlined it using Crumb Cake blends and marker
I colored the cauldron with Smoky Slate blends and the light Black blend
Then, I cropped the potion bottle and goopy piece from Granny Apple Green cardstock then I. used a blending brush and ink to add texture
All the sentiments come from the Potions & Spells stamp set and stamped in Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green
I cropped the front sentiment using a Nested Essentials die, and the back sentiment using a deckled rectangle die
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card in a rectangle box, envelope, and envelope seal
Welcome back to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 234. Our host, Pamela, chose Coloring for the theme. I used some bold DSP layered onto an embossed black cardstock background.
When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!
I used the Potions and Spells bundle for my very colored card. Here it is:
If you like Halloween, this set from the online exclusives collection is for you. Here’s an up close look at the bundle:
I can almost hear you ask yourself if this could be any cuter. Well, it can be — take a look at the coordinating new scrapbooking workshop kit for this adorable set!
Here’s a closer look at this delightful, and very versatile, DSP (designer series paper):
Measurements:
The Gorgeous Grape base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches
The Pumpkin Pie mat measures 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches
After I ran a piece of white cardstock through my Cut & Emboss machine using the exposed brick folder, I trimmed it to 4 by 5-1/4 inches
I also trimmed another piece of white cardstock for the inside measuring 5-1/4 by 4 inches
I trimmed a piece of Pumpkin Pie 6 x 6 inch DSP to 2-1/2 by 6 inches for the envelope flap
Then, I trimmed a piece of the same DSP to 5-1/4 by 1/2 inch for the inside of the card
After stamping the stars grouping randomly on a scrap piece of white cardstock, I punched 1 1-inch circle of it and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
I used white cardstock for the bubbles, the dripping goop, sentiment banner, and the books
The cat and the cauldron were stamped on Basic Gray cardstock using black embossing powder
Coloring & Stamping:
I stamped the books using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with the Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie, and Crumb Cake blend combos
After stamping the bubbles on white cardstock embossed with silver embossing powder, I used a blending brush and Granny Apple Green ink to color the bubbles, which I then fussy cut
I used the same blending brush and ink to color another piece of scrap white cardstock and cropped it using the goopy (for a lack of a better term) overflow
After stamping the cauldron and cat on Basic Gray cardstock using black embossing powder, I cropped them out
I used the Basic Gray blends to color the cat and the Granny Apple Green dark blend for the eyes
I used a blending brush and Basic Gray ink to color over the embossed outline of the cauldron
Then, I used a clear Wink of Stella brush to outline the handles and center handle
Here’s a closer look at the Wink of Stella since it’s so hard to photograph:
I stamped the sentiments for the outside and inside using Gorgeous Grape ink
The outside sentiment was cropped using a nested essentials die
The star clusters are stamped in Granny Apple Green
I even colored the black checked ribbon using a dark Pumpkin Pie blend
HINT: Make sure you give the ribbon to thoroughly dry before using it
Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
I added dimensionals under the outside sentiment, the books, and the cat
The cauldron bubbles, cauldron, and overflowing goop, all got layered together before adhering it directly to the exposed brick embossed white cardstock for the front
After adhering the inside white cardstock and DSP, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
