Welcome to the new Cardz 4 Guyz challenge # 295. For this challenge, Deb chose the theme of D is for………… The sky is the limit for this challenge! As long as your project is for a guy of any age and has to do with a word starting with D, it works! When you finish here, I hope you will pop over to the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge site to see the projects from the rest of the design team. Then, create your own project and add it to the gallery! Fun!
Here’s my D is for……. Dog card:
When I was growing up, we had a mini-schnauzer, and this cute little guy always brings back happy memories. He’s so cute, I had to use him on the inside and outside. The dog on the inside looks like I totally meant to put him in the corner to fit under the sentiment. However, I really didn’t have a choice on the placement of the pup. I’m running out of the dog DSP (designer series paper) and could only crop one without a tail. Whatever works, right?
Measurements and Such:
The Real Red base measures 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches. I scored it at 4-1/4 inches to create a tent card.
The Basic Black cardstock layer measures 5-3/8 inches by 4-1/8 inches.
The piece of red striped DSP for the envelope flap measures 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
I usually use thin borders for mats, but I had this piece of the background DSP already trimmed to 5-1/8 inches by 3-7/8 inches, so I really didn’t have a choice in the orientation of the card.
The black DSP square measures 2-5/8 inches squared. I popped it up on dimensionals and adhered the schnauzer directly to the DSP using 9my fav) multipurpose liquid glue. I didn’t add dimensionals under the pup so I could add a bone trinket and still have the card fit in the envelope.
This fabulous Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Party Puffins cling stamp set. The playful font coordinates perfectly with the rest of the elements on the card.
I stamped both the inside and the outside sentiments using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad.
The Real Red banner measures 1-1/8 inches wide. I trimmed the white banner to 1 inch wide.
I thought the sentiment banner really needed a little something, so I added a matte black dot to the bottom corner.
After I adhered the pup on the inside to the white cardstock, I adhered that layer down to the base.
Finally, I trimmed the envelope flap and punched a 1 inch circle of the black DSP for the envelope seal. I started making envelope seals during COVID so I wouldn’t have to keep writing “no saliva was used to seal this envelope”. The XYRON create-a-sticker is perfect for these seals.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and seal set.

Welcome to another MMM challenge! Meg is hosting the theme of cats or dogs and I’m looking forward to seeing your creations in the gallery. Since I just posted a dogs card for Cardz 4 Guyz (you can see that here), I chose cats for this MMM.
Here’s my card:
I thoroughly enjoyed playing around with the DSP (designer series paper) to find a non-pattern with which I was happy. I used the Playful Pets stamps, coordinating die set, and both ribbons. In addition, I used the tailored label punch and a circle punch.
Measurements:
The Flirty Flamingo card base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to form a tent card.
I trimmed the black mat to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
The sentiment circle came from scrap white cardstock. I also trimmed a piece of white cardstock for the inside to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
The last measuring I did was for the envelope flap. I used a piece of the cats DSP and trimmed it to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches. I adhered this directly to the envelope flap so I wouldn’t misplace it.
What I Did:
Without any real thought, I just started punching a bunch of tailored tags out of the cat themed DSP.
Happily this grumpy cat fit inside one of my circle punches. I used the layering circles die set to crop the mat for it out of scrap black.
This grumpy cat immediately reminded me of Garfield, which led to the use of the “Enjoy” sentiment. Hopefully, eventually, grumpy cat would smile sooner or later. Both the cat and the sentiment have dimensionals underneath them so they pop off the card.
Then, I just needed to play around with the DSP tags until I found something suitable. Using this removable tape helped me move things around without worrying about getting everything out of place.
Once I found a layout with which I was happy, I used multipurpose liquid adhesive to adhere everything down to the black mat.
Next, used the Label Me Fancy punch to get a slit punched out in the tip of the sentiment circle. I wrapped the ribbon and baker’s twine around the black mat and slipped one set of ends through the slit. The dimensionals really keep the sentiment from just flapping on the card.
I used a glue dot to adhere one of the (retired) pet trinkets to the cats collar. Then I used 3 black matte dots to embellish the sentiment.
I stamped “I hope your day is a real treat” on the inside and added a cropped cat to the bottom, left corner.
After trimming the DSP on the envelope flap, I punched a circle for the seal, which I ran through my XYRON create-a-sticker. The seal then lives inside the envelope until I am ready to use the card.
With that, I’d completed this card/envelope/seal coordinated set.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.
What’s New? Since you asked, it’s The Kits Collection!

Welcome to another Make My Monday challenge! For this challenge, Meg chose shaped cards, not a square or rectangle. While my card looks complicated, it’s really not at all.
Here’s my card:
I found this fabulous card on Dawn Griffith’s Stampin Up YouTube channel. She gives credit to the demo from whom she got the idea. Dawn’s video is fabulous and completely step-by-step. It’s very easy to follow. I’m still practicing my video skills, and so far I haven’t had anything I would want to publish. However, aren’t we all our own worst critics? I often think about teenagers listening to me in class day after day and hearing my voice. I don’t know what I should think about that.
The most important thing you need to do when creating this card is to follow Dawn’s directions to make the template you are going to need. I used a piece of white cardstock that I had previously used to crop out a sentiment. Save your template! You can use it again and again. As a matter of fact, I already have enough trial and error pieces to create two more cards. They aren’t damaged pieces, I just decided to use the Playful Pets suite.
Here’s my template:
That’s All for Now, Fellow Crafters!
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Tag, You’re It” – tags or 3D projects to get you inspired for the upcoming gift season. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I created a set of five Playful Pets cards, with envelopes, and a gift box to hold them. I’ve already mailed this boxed set to an animal rescue in North Dakota to use as part of their fundraising silent auction.
Here’s the gift box, which is made from DSP:
I used the Playful Alphabet die set with two layers of the adhesive sheets to create the eclipse part of the card.
Here are the five cards stored inside the box:
The Gift Box
I’ve got the whole set-up to start filming videos and I really need to do that ASAP. For this blog, however, I took pictures of measurements and each step for creating the box. I figured a picture is worth a 1,000 words, so enough of them would be much better than trying to explain in words.
I used a piece of Crumb Cake and Pool Party for this sample box so the measurements, lines, etc. would be easier to see.
Here’s the gift box, step-by-step:
BOX TOP
For some strange and unknown reason, I didn’t take a picture after I put the tear and tape strips on the box. However, the bottom of the box is put together the same way as the top. The difference is that the bottom has an angled side, aAs you can see below.
BOTTOM OF THE BOX
I hope these pictures are truly worth a thousand words. Try it! If you are following the blog hop, you can trim, score, use adhesive, and fold. Simple as that. Truly.
Back to the Pals Blog Hop
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on November 11th when our theme is “Pile It On!” Participants will showcase projects with lots of layers, embellishments and/or texture. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft space.
