Fern Leaves for Cardz 4 Galz # 207
Welcome to the bi-weekly Cardz 4 Galz challenge # 207. Our host for this time, Caz, chose leaves as the theme, which has a plethora of options. When you finish here, I invite you to visit the challenge site to see the projects from the rest of the design team members. We’d love to have you play along and upload your leaves project to the gallery.
Here’s my fern leaves card:
Measurements:
- The Night of Navy card base measures 11 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
- After embossing the white cardstock with the ferns 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
- Trim another piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside panel.
- The Sun Prints DSP (designer series paper) measures 4-3/4 by 3-1/2 inches.
- Trim a coordinating piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. At the same time, punch a 1-inch circle of DSP for the envelope seal. Run the seal through your XYRON create-a-sticker.
- I used a piece of scrap Night of Navy for the sentiment on the front.
What I Did:
- Adhere the embossed white cardstock to the base using multipurpose liquid glue.
- Adhere the front DSP to the embossed white cardstock with liquid glue.
- Use your embossing buddy on the scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set using VersaMark ink.
- Cover the ink with white embossing powder and heat set with your heat tool.
- Crop the sentiment using the corresponding Sentiment Silhouette die.
- Add dimensionals under the sentiment and adhere to the front of the card.
- Randomly add three gold butterflies to the front surrounding the sentiment.
- Using the Nature Prints stamp set, stamp the fern leaves in the bottom, right-hand corner of the white cardstock. In order to achieve the trio of leaves, stamp the first time, then pivot the stamp for the second leaf and pivot again for the third leaf. (If you are a fan of Friends, you know what made me smile about “pivot”,)
- Adhere the white cardstock to the inside of the card.
- I also stamped this trio on the bottom, left-hand corner on the front of the envelope.
- With that, I’d finished this quick coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Have a Peachy day!
