Welcome, again, to another Make My Monday challenge. The theme for challenge #143 is masculine birthday. For this challenge, I created a pretty clean and simple card using the Soar Confidently stamp set, with a birthday sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set.
Here’s my card:
While creating a masculine collage card would also completely work, I decided that this one would be very clean.
What I Did:
Not only is the card very clean, but the way I created this is very simple. Therefore, this card falls into the easy-peasy category.
Since I wanted to stay as neutral as possible, I used Early Espresso for the base of the card. I trimmed the cardstock to 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, and scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I trimmed the Crumb Cake mat to 5-3/8 inches by 4-1/8 inches.
Next, I trimmed the In Good Taste DSP to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I also cut a piece of this DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
The multipurpose glue adhered all these layers together.
I wanted to tie in the Crumb Cake and the Navy in the DSP. Therefore, I used the Night of Navy ink to stamp the hot air balloon onto Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I very carefully fussy cut the balloon out.
The Night of Navy ink made a bold statement on the white cardstock. Next, I trimmed the sentiment block using the Stitched Rectangles die.
The rule of threes for balance on the card told me that I needed to add something, which would also tie in the sentiment and the balloon so they don’t look like they just float on the card front. In order to have three elements on the front of the card, I grabbed the burlap ribbon and cut a piece to run vertically down the left side of the card.
I used glue dots to adhere the burlap ribbon. Dimensionals and mini-dimensionals gave the sentiment and hot air balloon some height.
There is a piece of white cardstock on the inside of the card, but I haven’t added a sentiment for it yet. I will wait until I know the recipient and will then add a personal note and sentiment.
After adhering and trimming the DSP to the envelope flap, I’d completed this card/envelope set.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

The theme for MMM # 142 is Emergency Services. I don’t have anything specifically for first responders, so I got on Pinterest. I knew I wanted to create an eclipse card, and originally thought I’d use “1st”. Realistically I knew that wouldn’t work, and that’s as far as I got. So, I searched for “Stampin’ Up! first responder cards” and the first one on my results had been posted by JCapCards. Her trio of cards inspired me!
Here’s my card:
I used one of the sentiments from the Happy Thoughts cling stamp set. This sentiment seemed appropriate for the card.
Measurements
The card base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches to create a tent card.
I used two patterns from the In Good Taste DSP for the front of the card and envelope flap. The bottom mat of the Early Espresso wood grain DSP measures 5-1/2 by 4-1/4 inches. While I had it out, I also trimmed a piece to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
I trimmed the middle, Pool Party, layer to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
Then I trimmed the top In Good Taste DSP to 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
Since I already had my trimmer out, I trimmed some white cardstock for the inside panel to 5-1/4 by 4 inches.
I used Early Espresso to stamp the sentiment on the front trying to get it as even as possible. Then, I stamped “Thank You” from the same stamp set on the white inside panel. My stamping for this card was done.

Assembly
I’ve learned some tricks along the way for creating eclipse cards, mainly because I’ve made quite a few of them. For example, I’ve found that it is much easier to align everything on the magnetic base and a cutting plate from the Big Shot. I also use a magnetic ruler so i know I have a straight line right from the start.
Washi tape helps tremendously to hold the letter dies in place while trying to get the correct spacing for the word.
I cropped the word “HERO” using the retired large letter dies, but any alphabet set of dies would work. The next step is to adhere the front DSP, less the letters, onto the Pool Party mat.
In the past, I’ve then spent a very long time trimming down dimensionals for the backs of each letter. Not any more! The Stampin’ Up adhesive sheets are fabulous for this technique! After I crop each letter, I use the dies to separately crop out each letter from the adhesive sheets. Next, carefully, very carefully, place the die cut DSP onto the die cut letter. Slow and steady is the key to getting this all lined up.
Then I adhered the letters onto the front of the card, and moved on to the inside of the “O” and “R”. I used the multipurpose liquid glue and my opposable tweezers to adhere the insides down. Again, slow and steady works here.
Since I’d finished the front, it was time to adhere my inner panel to the card. Finally, I adhered the DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it down.
With that, I’d finished this card/envelope set.

Welcome back to another MMM challenge. This two-week challenge asks you to create a project using something new to you. I chose the new Stampin’ Up! Paper Blooms DSP available starting on Tuesday, January 5th. Best part: This DSP can be earned FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase. FREE? Yes! It’s gorgeous paper with fresh color combinations and infinite possibilities for projects. Since it’s 12 x 12 DSP, it can also be very easily used for scrapbooking.
Without further ado, here’s my card:
Here’s a beginner version of the same card, and it’s still beautiful!
Here’s the inspiration sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #466:
Freshly Made Choices
I used Night of Navy for the card base, trimmed to 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches forming a landscape tent card.
The background mat paper is from the In Good Taste DSP. It coordinates perfectly with the Pretty Blooms DSP! I trimmed this mat to 5-3/8 inches by 4-1/8 inches.
The Old Olive mat comes from the Regals 6 x 6 inch DSP stack. I trimmed it to 3 inches by 4-1/2 inches.
The new Paper Blooms DSP is trimmed to 4 inches by 3-3/4 inches. I also adhered this using the multipurpose liquid adhesive. While I had that paper in the trimmer, I trimmed a piece to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches for the envelope flap.
Ribbon and Finishing
Next, I used a piece of the Old Olive ribbon, from the June – December holiday catalog, which ends at midnight tonight. I wrapped it around the two top layers and actually was able to tie it in a bow. Granted, it took me a few tries, and I had to use the bunny ear method, also new to me. I usually have to tie the bow and then remove the ribbon and turn it upside down to actually have the bow face the right direction. This extra step is necessary mainly because I am left-handed. Tie a bow on sneakers? Not a problem at all. Tie a bow in ribbon on a card? I struggle. However, I’m pretty stinking happy with this bow!
I cropped the Rococo Rose sentiment mat using the stitched rectangle dies. I slipped it under the ribbon and adhered it directly to the DSP using, you guessed it, my fave – multipurpose liquid adhesive.
The sentiment is also from a new to me stamp set, Here’s a Card. I stamped it on white using Night of Navy ink. Then, I popped it up on dimensionals over the ribbon.
I could’ve very easily stopped there. However, I had some of the 2019 – 2021 In Color faceted dots, so I used three of them for the centers of flowers.
After I adhered and trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap, I’d completed this card/envelope coordinated set.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate and respond to comments.

Hello, and welcome back for another Cardz 4 Guyz challenge. The theme for C4G #268 is Thanks/Thanksgiving. Since I am American, and because I still need a few Thanksgiving cards for next week, I went with that part of the theme.
Here’s my card:
I used a sketch from a recent challenge, but can not remember which challenge. However, I do remember that it closed before this post went live.
What I Did:
The base of the card is Early Espresso trimmed to 5-1/2 inches x 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I chose two patterns from the Gilded Autumn DSP for the larger two squares, which I cropped using the Stitched Rectangle square dies. There’s a very, very thin Early Espresso border around the largest gourd DSP. The middle square has a wider Cajun Craze border. The smallest square has a set of wider borders of Cajun Craze and Early Espresso. I stamped the sentiment, from the Autumn Greetings stamp set, before cropping out the Very Vanilla square. This sentiment just fit inside the smallest square, but the two borders makes this sentiment block a real focal point of the card.
Once I had my DSP patterns for the squares, I started the process of trying to find a background DSP in wood tones. I picked this one because it picks up the Early Espresso from the base and sentiments. It very subtly picks up the slight orange-y Cajun Craze color. I trimmed the background paper to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
After finishing the inside of the card, I adhered a piece of the wood tone DSP to the envelope flap. With that, I’d completed this card/envelope set. Another Thanksgiving card finished, about 6 more to go.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

I really enjoy the Sunday Stamps Challenges because it’s like starting the new week with something new to ponder. For this challenge, I’d already created two versions of a card but I didn’t love them. Then, I thought I could still do something I really loved.
Here’s my final card:
Here’s the challenge banner:
Once I Made the Decision….
It took me longer to decide what to do, even after I decided to use the daisies on this version of the card. Once I decided on the In Good Taste DSP, the rest fell into place finally fell into place. The DSP I chose adds so much texture to the front of the card without having to do anything else to it. This pattern with the underlayer of Night of Navy really caught my attention.
With the combination of the DSP and ribbon, I thought I needed to keep the card clean and simple. The challenge sketch is also clean and simple, so I thought I had a win-win.
Using the Sunday Stamps Challenge # 234 Sketch for My Card
After deciding three of the large daisies would be too much, I stamped six of the medium size daisies in TerraCotta Tile. I also stamped three partial daisies in Rococo Rose for the daisy centers. Punching the six Terracotta Tile daisies took just a few seconds. I also used the daisy punch to punch out the partial daisies to get the centers. All I had to do was trim them down put everything together. Easy Peasy.
In order to get all my punching done at once, I also stamped the sentiment. I cropped the sentiment using the Stitched Rectangle die set, then trimmed the Terracotta Tile mat.
Measurements:
The card base is Whisper White, with a foundation mat of Night of Navy both of which got cut to 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches.
I cut the Terracotta Tile mat to 4-1/8 by 5- 3/8 inches. Since I try to save cardstock, I usually use the stitched rectangle dies to crop out the centers of the unseen parts of my mats. I did just that with both the Night of Navy and Terracotta Tile mats.
The DSP layer’s measurements step down another 1/8 inch on length and width. Therefore, I trimmed the DSP to 4 by 5-1/4 inches. At the same time, I trimmed a piece of DSP for the envelope flap. I always use a piece of DSP cut to 6 by 2-5/8 inches.
After adhering the two cardstock mats together using multipurpose liquid glue, I went to work on the ribbon. Lately I have been struggling with bows, so I knew I would be using a square knot. Some years ago I saw a Connie Stewart video regarding tying square knots. As a leftie, I still say her sequence in my head. Left over right, pull it tight. Right over left, pull the left. Ta-da! Success. I used a mini-glue dot to secure the ribbon to the DSP.
Finally, the time to attach the daisies arrived. I dry-fit the daisies to figure out where I needed to place the dimensionals. The bottom daisy only has two dimensionals, one at the top and the other at the bottom. Therefore, that daisy straddles the ribbon. The top two daisies each have one dimensional in the center to attach them.
I trimmed another piece of the DSP to 1/2 by 5-1/2 inches. This piece now lives on the bottom of the inside of the card. I didn’t put a sentiment on the inside because the sentiment can be used for many ocassions.
After adhering and trimming the DSP to the flap of the envelope, I had finished this card/envelope set. It’s happened many times before, but it took longer to write the blog than create the card once I figured out what I was doing.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I’d also love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.
