Three of Anything for MMM # 207

Welcome to the bi-weekly Make My Monday challenge. I’m the host for challenge # 207, and I chose three of anything as the theme.

When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the projects created by the rest of the design team. We would love to see your “three of anything” creations uploaded to our gallery!

Here’s my three of anything card:

I think I might have gone a little bit overboard with the groups of three. Three ladybugs, three white circles, three Sweet Sorbet circles, and three sets of googly-eyes. I. just can’t seem to put these ladybugs together without using googly eyes. Admit it – they are stinking cute with those eyes!

What You Need:

  • A Sweet Sorbet base trimmed to 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
  • The background DSP (designer series paper) comes from the Zany Zoo suite. It measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. Then, I outlined it with a black Stamping Write Marker to give it some definition.
  • Trim another piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
  • Punch a 1-inch circle of coordinating Sweet Sorbet 6 x 6 inch DSP for the envelope seal.
  • Punch 3 black ladybug bodies and 3 Sweet Sorbet sets of wings.
  • I punched three vellum cardstock wings as well.
  • Those circles! Did you notice the deckled circles? They can be found in the new mini-catalog which goes live September 6, 2023. I cropped three white and three Sweet Sorbet deckled circles.
  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 5-1/4 by 4 inches for the inside of the card. I. don’t know the purpose of this all occasion card yet, so I didn’t stamp an inside sentiment.

Putting the Card Together:

  • I only added dimensionals to the bottom, right-hand ladybug and the sentiment. I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere everything else.
  • Wrap a piece of the metallic Sweet Sorbet ribbon around the DSP and tie it in a bow.
  • Glue the white circles to the Sweet Sorbet circles.
  • Stamp the Sweet Sorbet wings using the dots stamp from the Hello Ladybug stamp set using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Layer the Sweet Sorbet wings on the vellum wings so the vellum barely shows between the wings and the body of the ladybugs.
  • Then adhere the Sweet Sorbet circles to the DSP using multipurpose liquid glue.
  • Adhere the ladybugs to the circle mats.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and crop using a label die.
  • Punch a tiny dot from the top of the label and thread a small piece of the metallic ribbon through the hole. I used a piece of tear & tape on the back to secure it in place.
  • Using dimensionals, adhere the sentiment to the front of the card under the bow.
  • Since the googly eyes are self-adhesive, I just needed to peel the backing off and apply to the ladybugs. So stinking cute!
  • With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
