One Mother’s Day Card, Three Challenges

Welcome back to Just Peachy Stamping! I’ve been busy creating this week and weekend, and I have a three-for card to share with you today.

Here’s my card:

I’ve combined the Creative Creases # 80, Try Stampin’ on Tuesday # 644, and Color Throwdown Challenge # 788. Here are the challenge banners:

Measurements:

  • The Garden Green base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches.
  • After dry-embossing a piece of Garden Green cardstock using the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, trim it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. Burnish the fold lines using a bone folder.
  • HINT: Before you adhere this piece of embossed cardstock down, make sure the lettering is right-side up. It’s faint, but will be noticeable if you get it upside down. Trust me.
  • The pink and white daisy DSP (designer series paper) from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP is part of a 4 x 12 inch strip of one of the DSP pages. When trimmed, it measures 4 by 3-1/4 inches.
  • The Crushed Curry DSP for the front measures 5-3/8 by 2 inches. Trim another piece of this DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
  • Punch a 1-inch circle using a scrap of the Garden Green 6 x 6 inch DSP for the envelope seal and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker machine.
  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.

Cropping, & Stamping, & Assembly:

  • Amazingly, I didn’t use any dimensionals on this card. Therefore, all the pieces are adhered using multipurpose liquid glue.
  • When you burnish your Garden Green cardstock base, do so to create a mountain fold. In other words, burnish so that the fold turns inward towards the inside.
  • Adhere the dry-embossed cardstock to the center of the front of the base.
  • Adhere the Crushed Curry DSP following the TSOT #644 challenge banner as a guide.
  • Next, adhere the Bubble Bath daisy DSP to the front layers.
  • I used leftover pieces of Garden Green and white cardstock to crop out the two layers of daisies and the sentiment banner.
  • Crop the two layers of the daisy from the Cheerful Daisy die set. I outlined both pieces using a Crushed Curry marker just to give the layers a bit of dimension.
  • I used the Crushed Curry inkpad and a blending brush to very lightly blend a center on each daisy piece. This is optional since the majority of it will be covered by the sentiment.
  • Using your embossing buddy from the embossing additions tool kit, rub down your leftover piece of Garden Green cardstock.
  • Stamp the sentiment from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set using VersaMark ink.
  • Add white embossing powder and heat set using your heat tool.
  • Crop the sentiment using the second smallest Countryside Corners die set.
  • I outlined the sentiment piece using a Garden Green marker. It’s barely noticeable, but it finishes off the banner.
  • Stamp the inside sentiment in Garden Green ink.
  • Adhere the white cardstock to the inside of the card.
  • With that, you’ve created this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Have a Peachy Day!

How Does Your Garden Grow for the April Pals’ Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is See How My Garden Grows. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Here’s my never-ending card using the Fresh as a Daisy 12 x 12 inch DSP (designer series paper). This paper will be retiring soon and I hope it’s on your next order. The paper is stunning! You can see other posts using this paper here, and here, and this post has 3 cards showcasing this DSP.

Here’s my card:

Here’s a video for making this super-simple card. Truly, if you can score and trim paper, you can make this card.

I’ve made never-ending cards before, but needed directions for one larger than 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches for the finished product. I found this video by Karen Titus for a 6 x 6 inch version. In the past 4 or 5 days, I’ve made three of these cards. They are so much fun, much easier than they look, and the recipients will be amazed. Granted, a 6 x 6 inch card requires extra postage, but I think it’s well-worth the extra stamp.

Of course, since this is a fun fold, I will be entering it in the Creative Creases Challenge!

Measurements:

  • There are two bases, each measure 6 x 6 inches.
  • If you are using a DSP pattern with a direction, you need a total of 6 horizontal and 6 vertical pieces. Each piece measures 1-3/8 by 2-7/8 inches.
  • Four of my DSP pieces are from a coordinating DSP, 2 are horizontal and 2 are vertical. pieces.
  • There are 6 pieces of 2-7/8 by 2-7/8 inches. Four of these are cows, 2 of these are flowers. I used the large square die from the Stylish Shapes die set for my center pieces.
  • If you use DSP for the corner pieces, you need 8 measuring 1-3/8 x 1-3/8 inches. I used the smallest Stylish Shapes square die for my corner pieces.

Stamping, Trimming, and Assembly:

  • Trying to explain how to put this card together in writing would be incredibly long. Please see Karen Titus’ video tutorial or the video I uploaded to YouTube. .

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Fun Family Occasions.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

What’s Moo with You for Cardz 4 Guyz #338

Welcome to the first bi-weekly Cardz 4 Guyz challenge for 2024! Our host for challenge # 338, Pamela, chose Use Something New in Your Stash for the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will visit the challenge site to see the creations from the rest of the design team. I always enjoy seeing what everyone creates, but using something new is a way for me to find something I need to add to my stash. We hope you will play along. Please remember to upload your creation to the gallery when you are done.

I chose to use a new bundle from the January – April mini-catalog, Cutest Cows. These cows are so stinking adorable, and it paired beautifully with this DSP (designer series paper) from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP. The sentiments in the stamp set will work for a birthday, congratulations, or all occasion card for a younger boy.

Here’s my card:

Measurements:

  • The Azure Afternoon base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 8-1/4 inches to create a tent fold.
  • The white cardstock for the outside measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. I cropped the tag for the sentiment from this piece of cardstock since it will be covered by DSP and no one will know.
  • The landscape DSP measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
  • I trimmed a piece of the Azure Afternoon 6 x 6 DSP from the Brights Collection to 2-1/2 by 6 inches for the envelope flap. I also punched a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP for the envelope flap.
  • Next, I cropped the bridge using a die from the Playing in the Rain die set in Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • I used scrap pieces of white cardstock for the cow and the milkcan/rooster combination.

Creating the Cow:

  • The easiest way to stamp the cow’s body and head so they fit in the punch is to use a template.
  • Since the stamp set is photopolymer, you can line up the body pieces in the template negative space. I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The cow body does need to be stamped by the bottom of the cardstock so the cardstock will fit in the punch.
  • I used the Smoky Slate blends combo to color the spots on the cow.
  • Attach the head to the body using multipurpose liquid glue.
  • The cow stamped on the inside will not fit in the punch. Therefore, I stamped it directly on the white cardstock and colored it using the Smoky Slate blends.

Stamping, Coloring, & Assembly:

  • As with the cows, I stamped everything using the Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Stamp the trio of sunflowers on either side of the DSP, and color using the Daffodil Delight blends combo.
  • Use the Copper Clay light blend to add the center dots to each of the flowers.
  • Use the Old Olive blends to color the leaves.
  • Stamp the milkcan on white cardstock.
  • Line up the rooster on top of the milkcan.
  • HINT: It’s easier to line up the photopolymer stamps if you use acrylic blocks larger than the stamp. This way, the sides of the block do not interfere with lining up the stamps.
  • Color the milkcan using Smoky Slate blends.
  • Color the rooster using Daffodil Delight and Copper Clay blends.
  • Fussy cut the milkcan/rooster combined piece.
  • Use Azure Afternoon to stamp both the inside and outside sentiments.
  • Crop the outside sentiment using one of the banner dies from the Nested Essentials die set.
  • Add dimensionals under the sentiment banner, the cow, and the milkcan/rooster pieces and adhere to the card front.

With that, I’d finished this adorable, coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Have a Peachy Day!

CASe the Catty for the July Pals’ Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is CASE the Catalog. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Here’s my Rainy Day card from page 61 of the catalog:

I just love everything about this Playing in the Rain stamp set, die set, and coordinating rain embossing folder.  Absolutely everything.  When I was thumbing through the catalog, for probably the fiftieth time, I saw this card and couldn’t resist. Would you believe the DSP comes from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP?  I know!  I was surprised as well!

Measurements and Assembly:

  • Trim a piece of Boho Blue cardstock to 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, and score at 4-1/4 inches.
  • Trim a piece of Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
  • Punch a 1-inch circle of coordinating DSP for the envelope seal. Run it through a XYRON create-a-sticker.
  • Trim a piece of this landscape DSP from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP to 5-1/4 by 4 inches.
  • Adhere the DSP to the cardstock base using multipurpose liquid glue
  • Stamp the adorable fox on white cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Use the Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Pecan Pie blend combos to colors the fox. I also used one of the natural tone blends for the face and hands.
  • Outline the umbrella using the dark Daffodil Delight blend.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Boho Blue ink on white cardstock.
  • Trim and fussy cut the sentiment into a banner.
  • Crop the fox using the die set.
  • Crop the bridge (Crumb Cake) and the grass pieces (Old Olive) pieces.
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the fox. and bridge.
  • HINT: If you adhere grass pieces on either end of the front of the bridge using liquid glue, you will be able to hide the dimensionals.
  • Tie a bow using the Boho Blue In Color jute twine. Use a glue dot to adhere it to the back of the sentiment banner.
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the banner and adhere to the card.
  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside.
  • Stamp your sentiment using Boho Blue ink.
  • With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
