Welcome to my three-fer card! I was able to combine three challenges using this one card. I hope that my card inspires you to play along with one, two, or three of these challenges! I love playing along with card challenges! However, since I am on four design teams and participate in blog hops, I spent the month of July trying to get as far ahead as possible. Therefore, I am tickled (Flirty Flamingo) pink to be able to play along with these three.
First, here’s my card:
Second, here are the banners and links (click on the image) for the challenges:
I turned this sketch to a horizontal orientation for my card, which is totally acceptable.
Measurements:
The Old Olive base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-2/2 inches
I used a piece of the Pecan Pie retired Gorgeous Gingham DSP (designer series paper) for the front of the card and each piece measures 4-1/8 by 2-5/8 inches
Trim a piece of the same DSP to 3/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the inside stop piece
Next, trim a piece of Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
Punch a 1-inch circle from the remaining gingham DSP for the envelope seal and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker
Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside of the card
I cropped the two circles on the front from the middle of an Old Olive and Pecan Pie cardstock, which will allow me to use each piece for a mat on another card
The label and playful kitten on the front, the sentiments, and fish stamp all come from the By Your Side kit
Take a look at this absolutely stinking adorable kit available now:
It was unorderable for quite a bit of time. As popular as this kit is, I’d suggest getting it ASAP to make sure you can use it as it comes, or to create alternate cards like I did.
Stamping & Assembly:
Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
I used a black Stampin’ Write marker to outline the two deckled circle pieces on the front because I wanted them to pop off the card front
Stamp the sentiments using Old Olive ink
Stamp the fist using Pecan Pie ink
Adhere the DSP pieces to the front of the card and the white cardstock to the inside
Adhere the two deckled circles together
After dry-fitting your playful kitten and the sentiment, add dimensionals to the back of each to adhere them to the circles
Making sure to only add liquid glue to the bottom half of the Pecan Pie circle, adhere to the front of the card
Add dimensionals to the gingham strip of DSP and adhere to the inside of the card about 1 inch from the top of the white cardstock
Finally, I added a speckled epoxy dot to the sentiment banner on the front
With that, I’d finished this very quick By Your Side card kit alternate card, envelope, and envelope seal
Welcome to the Stampin’ UP! Demos’ September Fun Fold Blog Hop! That’s a mouthful, isn’t it? This group of demonstrators loves to create fun folds, and I can always find inspiration from the projects on this hop! This month I chose one of my favorite, and relatively simple, fun folds: an easel card.
After you finish here, I hope you will hop along with us by following the links down below. When you’ve created your own fun fold card, please upload it to the gallery at Creative Creases Challenge!
Since I need about 25 Thanksgiving cards, I’ve already made and posted a couple of them. You can find that blog post here.
Measurements:
The Pretty Peacock base measures 11 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches.
After embossing a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using one of the Basics Embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
TIP: If you loved and deeply miss the Subtle 3D embossing folder, this crosshatch folder is for you!
The Very Vanilla cardstock piece for the inside measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I started with a piece of DSP measuring 3-3/4 by 4-1/2 inches.
Then, I trimmed it in half vertically so I had two pieces measuring 4-1/2 by 1-7/8 inches.
Next, I trimmed the right hand side in half horizontally so I had two pieces measuring 2-1/4 by 1-7/8 inches. In order to have these pieces match the challenge layout, I trimmed 1/16 from what would be the center of the DSP image.
I trimmed a piece of the Pretty Peacock and Copper Foil coordinating 12 x 12 inch specialty DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
Finally, I punched a 1-inch circle from the Autumn DSP to make the envelope seal.
What I Did to Create this Easel Card:
Adhere the DSP to the embossed cardstock using multipurpose liquid glue.
Then, adhere the bottom half of the embossed cardstock to the bottom half of the card base using liquid glue.
After wiping down a piece of vellum with an embossing buddy, stamp the sentiment, from the Autumn Leaf stamp set, in Pretty Peacock ink.
Since the ink take a little bit of time to dry, you have enough time to cover the ink with clear embossing powder. Then heat set it using your heat tool.
HINT: Make sure you warm up your heat tool before trying to set the embossing powder on the vellum. If you are not careful, you will burn the vellum instead of heat setting the powder.
Crop the leaf using the Autumn Leaf dies from the coordinating 12x 12 inch specialty DSP.
I cropped two of the thin banner pieces from the same DSP to use as the stop for the easel.
Crop the veins for the leaf from Pretty Peacock cardstock and adhere to the leaf.
Add dimensionals to the back of the leaf and adhere to the front of the card.
Adhering vellum can be tricky because you don’t want whatever you use to show. For this card, I cut mini-dimensionals in half and placed one-half in each of the three outside corners. Since the top left-hand corner sits on top of the leaf, I just added a dot of liquid glue to adhere it down.
I slid a small length of copper ribbon under the vellum and adhered it with a glue dot.
The last step for the front of the easel was to add speckled dots to each corner to hide the adhesives used.
Finishing Up:
I stamped the sentiment and image on the inside piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, which is adhered to the base using liquid glue.
Finally, add your easel stops using dimensionals. If you want the card to sit steeply (like mine), adhere the stops closer to the top of the inside cardstock. The further down you place the easel stops, the more the angle of the easel will decrease.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal.
Back to the Demos’ Fun Fold Blog Hop:
Thank you for joining us today as we hop through a series of fun fold cards! I know you will find loads of inspiration from the rest of these very talented demos! When you finish here, please hop over to Tara Carpenter at Tara Beth Stamps. If you get lost along the way, the following list will help get you back on track.
Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! Just in time for Spring, we are embracing some (or all) of Stampin’ Up!’s gorgeous greens for today’s hop. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
My three cards were made for Spring and include loads of Old Olive cardstock, embellishments, and in the DSP (designer series paper). I made each one with a specific great-niece (a 6 year old and almost 5 year old) and my three year-old great nephew for Easter. The cards are in order of the kids’ ages.
FREE SHIPPING!!!
Before I get to my cards, I have wonderful news! Today ONLY, Stampin’ Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on any order over $75.00!! It is so easy to get to $75.00, especially with the LAST CHANCE items!
Here are my cards:
I might have I’ve already made and posted cards using all of these fun folds with directions.
The directions for the first and second triangle easel cards can be found here.
Finally, the directions for the traditional fun fold can be found here.
Adding Greens:
In addition to the Old Olive cardstock, I added green colors in a variety of ways:
All the grass pieces were cropped from Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP
The kite in the first card was cropped from another pattern of the 6 x 6 inch DSP in Old Olive.
I fussy cut two of the Old Olive closed umbrellas for the stoppers on the first card.
I also used Old Olive as the stopper for the third card.
All the loose daisy embellishments have a tiny green leaf. Wherever you see a tiny daisy, just know there’s a green leaf there as well.
Finally, the greenery tops for all the carrots were stamped in Old Olive.

In Colors 2023-2025:
It seems so strange to be writing 2025 as the ending year of the new In Colors! Â
One of the things I love about new colors is the NEW IN COLOR PAPER PUMPKIN KIT! It always comes out the month of the new In Color rollout, and this year is no different.
Just the photo of the box is wonderful! I can’t imagine what the inside kit will look like!
Â
Again, thank you for stopping by today. I would love to hear from you, so if you have a couple of minutes to leave a comment, that would be wonderful.
Welcome to the newest Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge! Our host for C4G #299, Pamela, chose summer for the theme. Both the Cardz 4 Guyz #299 and the June Pals Fun Fold Blog Hop go live on the same day, so I knew I needed to combine the two. Then I saw the layout for Try Stampin on Tuesday #561 and knew I wanted to incorporate that layout. The color palette inspiration comes from the Fusion card challenge. Score!
When you are finished here, I hope you will visit the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge and the Pals Fun Fold Blog Hop, the links for which follow my blog post for the card.
Here’s my card:
I do need to thank the design team at Try Stampin on Tuesday. They chose my card as one of the Top 3 for TSOT559. You can see that card here, which was a three-fer by combining TSOT #599, Color Throwdown #696, and the Double Trouble challenge. Thank you very much!!! Once again, I feel completely honored.
Here are the Fusion and TSOT challenge banners:
The Hippest Hippos stamp set and coordinating dies make this card too stinking cute! You can earn each of these FREE, with a qualifying purchase, starting July 1, 2022 with Sale-a-Bration!
Measurements:
The Poppy Parade base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches.
I used Gray Granite following the Fusion colors, for the mat, which measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The white panel for the inside of the card also measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
After doing all the math for the layout pieces on the front of the card, I created a template, which will save so much time for the next time I want to use this layout. Here’s the template:
I had enough leftovers to stamp, color, and crop all the elements on the front of the card and the birds on the inside.
I used a piece of Basic Gray 6 x 6 DSP trimmed to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Then, I punched a 1 inch circle from Pool Party DSP to create the envelope seal.
What I Did:
I started this card with my blending brush and Pool Party ink on white cardstock. The hippo dies have one for waves. Since I wasn’t happy with the waves I created for the first card I made with this set (you can see that card here), I needed to figure out something else to do. I grabbed a piece of a window sheet and cropped out a stencil of the waves. I used the stencil and worked my way up the white cardstock.
HINT: Make sure you move the stencil placement so that the waves form a very random pattern. Do the same thing for the clouds.
By working my way up the white cardstock, I was able to create darker waves at the bottom and lighter ones at the top.
I repeated the process for the clouds again using Pool Party ink and my blending brush.
Of course, I couldn’t leave the inside white piece of cardstock plain, so I added waves at the bottom and clouds at the top.
Here’s a picture of the well-loved stencils I created by cropping window sheets with the dies:
Hippos:
Next, I worked on the hippos, which I stamped using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Smoky Slate light and dark blends combo. The hippo in the tub is actually a tutu wearing ballet hippo. However, since the challenge is to make a card for a guy (of any age), I simply cut off the tutu. I used another blending brush and Night of Navy ink to create a base on which the tub could sit.
Both the tub and the boat dies come with the hippo die set. I cropped each in Basic Gray cardstock. Then, I added dimension using my gray ink tones blending brush and Basic Gray ink. The effect is subtle, but I think it works.
Then, I used Poppy Parade cardstock and cropped the googles, breather tube, life saver and sunglasses. So stinking cute!!
If you use the multipurpose glue carefully and sparingly, you can easily adhere these cropped pieces to the hippos.
The hippo in the boat and in the tub got popped up on dimensionals.
The water droplets for each hippo needed some height, but not by using dimensionals. I cropped enough droplet sets to layer three droplets on top of each other. Since the Pool Party cardstock blended in with the background, I added Wink of Stella to each of the droplets.
Finishing Up:
The bottom horizontal panel really had me stumped. A quick perusal of my stamp sets led me to the school of fish stamp from the Whale Done stamp set. I stamped it in Pacific Point ink going across the bottom panel. Then, I added some to the waves on the inside panel as well.
This bottom panel also needed some sort of dimension. Therefore, I stamped the fish from Seas the Day four times using Pacific Point ink on Pool Party cardstock. I didn’t want to use dimensionals under these fish, so I adhered two fish together and then adhered them to the bottom panel.
The Waves of Inspiration stamp set contains a small bird, which I stamped three times across the top using Gray Granite ink.
The outside sentiment comes from the Catch You Later stamp set and the inside sentiment comes from Happy and Heartfelt. I stamped both using Night of Navy Ink.
I still needed something to hold the easel upright and settled on the birds from the Waves die set. The birds would need to be high enough to hold the easel, but I didn’t want to even begin to try to add dimensionals or foam adhesive behind the birds. Therefore, I cropped enough birds from Gray Granite cardstock to adhere five birds on top of each other. Five layers of cardstock turned out to be enough to hold up the easel.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap and ran the 1 inch circle envelope seal through my XYRON create-a-sticker. With that, I’d finished this coordinated easel card, envelope, and seal set.

This is the first of two posts going live on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. The second post goes live at 5 am ET for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop! I hope you will join along with the blog hop fun! In the meantime, I am very thankful for the opportunity to be the Featured Stamper for the Color Throwdown challenge # 697! I’ll be adding that badge to my blog as soon as I remember how to do that. 🙂
Here’s my card:
Here’s the Color Throwdown #697 banner:

This adorable song bird easel card comes from the Sweet Songbird bundle, which consists of an adorable stamp set and the larger bird builder punch. Here’s the bundle, and if you click on the image you can zoom in on it:
Measurements:
The Bermuda Bay base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 and 2-3/4 inches to create the easel.
Both pieces of white cardstock measure 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
I used a piece of the Polished Pink 6 x 6 DSP (designer series paper) cut down to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
I wanted to cover the back of the easel parts that show when the easel stands up. Therefore, I trimmed two pieces of Coastal Cabana DSP to 4-1/8 by 2-5/8 inches and adhered them to the back of the easel.
Then, I punched a 1 inch circle from a piece of Coastal Cabana DSP for the envelope seal and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker.
HINT: When you remove the sticky layer from the envelope sea layer, that piece of sticky goodness comes in very handy. I have tile floors, and I use that stickiness to pick up stray dimensional hexagon covers. Those things have a mind of their own! They very much enjoy floating away instead of going in the garbage can as intended.
That’s it for the measurements!
Creating the Clouds:
Recently, I saw a beautiful card and when I read the directions, I had an “AH-HA” moment. Sadly, I can not even begin to remember the name of the genius who posted this brilliant move. I don’t know where to begin to search for it either, so my apologies if it’s you!
I used a piece of window sheet film and cropped it with the cloud looking die from the basic borders die set. Then, I used the window sheet clouds as a stencil. Here are photos of this process using the stencil, a blender brush, and Bermuda Bay ink:
I did move the “clouds” as I worked my way up the white cardstock. I also blended very light areas using the dry blender brush. This way, only the bottom layer of clouds appear stark white.
For the inside/bottom of the easel, I only added one layer of clouds. Then, I dry brushed ink working up the white cardstock.
Sweet Songbirds:
I stamped the larger bird using Polished Pink ink on white cardstock. Then I punched out the pieces using the bird builder punch. I used scraps to punch out the wing from Polished Pink DSP, and the beak from Pale Papaya cardstock.
Then, I used Momento tuxedo black ink for the eyes, sentiments, music notes, and the Pumpkin Pie bird’s feet.
Next, I stamped the next using Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. The nest needed texture, so I ran it through my cut and emboss machine using the bark 3D embossing folder. This nest needed to be fussy cut, as did the smaller Pumpkin Pie bird.
The branches are also stamped using Soft Suede ink. I used Bermuda Bay ink for the leaves, and Polished Pink for the flowers.
The pink bird and nest have dimensionals added for height.
I cropped the top sentiment using a banner die from the new Stylish Shapes die set. If you don’t have this die set yet, I highly recommend it! I’ve used it so much since I got it!
Finally, I added four Coastal Cabana resin dots to hold the easel in place.
With that, I’d completed this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you’ll come back to check out the InKing Royalty Blog Hop going live at 05:00 am ET.
Here are just a few of my favorite new things, and about half of which arrived Monday! I’ve already been playing with my new goodies. I’m also working on a pre-order from the upcoming July – December mini-catalog. Fun times!!  My card for Thursday’s Cardz 4 Galz design team post uses a bundle from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration catalog! Â
