Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is Animal House—and the Pals are here to inspire you with a parade of paw-some card ideas and paper craft creations, all featuring Stampin’ Up! products. At the end of each post, you’ll find links to all the participant blogs so you can “hop” along and gather ideas to make your own projects roar with personality.

🐾

I used Darling Dinos stamp and die set and the Everyday Happiness DSP (designer series paper) for my baby card. I need to say that this card was made specifically for a work colleague and I forgot to take pictures before some of us signed it. I did ask everyone if it was ok to take pictures after they signed it, so they all knew what I’d forgotten to do.

That being said, he’s the card:

As always with a fun fold card, I will be adding this to the Creative Creases Challenge where the theme is always Anything Goes with a Fun Fold.

Measurements:

The card is a modified z-fold card

  • The Pretty Peacock base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches on the long side
  • Trim two pieces of Wild Wheat cardstock to 2 by 5-3/8 inches
  • Trim two pieces of DSP to 1-7/8 by 5-1/4 inches
  • The Lost Lagoon flap opening upwards measures 4 by 10-3/4 inches, scored at 5-3/8 inches
  • The DSP on the front of the flap measures 3-3/4 by 5-1/4 inches
  • Trim a piece of coordinating DSP to 1/2 by 5-1/4 inches for the bottom of the inside of the flap
  • Trim another piece of DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • Punch a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP and run it through the XYRON create-a-sticker for the envelope seal
  • You need two pieces of white cardstock measuring 3-7/8 by 5-1/4 inches
  • Trim another piece of white cardstock for the back to 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches, if needed and since there are 16 of us who need to sign this card, I definitely needed it
  • The front sentiment square of Pretty Peacock and the DSP were cropped using two of the square Stylish Shapes dies
  • Crop another piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock using the same size square die as the DSP on the front I used as many scrap pieces of white cardstock as possible for all the dinosaurs and initials on this card

Stamping, Coloring, Cropping, & Assembly:

  • Stamp the sentiments using Pretty Peacock ink, I used sentiments from the retired Charming Sentiments stamp set
  • Stamp all the dinosaurs using Tuxedo Black ink
  • I cropped three pieces of each of the initials and layered them on top of each other to add height without dimensionals
  • I used the colors on the DSP to color the dinosaurs using the blend combos of Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Wild Wheat, and Gray Granite – aren’t they all adorable!
  • The stamped pattern on the Lost Lagoon egg pieces was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink
  • I stamped the rocks for the back of the card using Gray Granite ink on a scrap of the DSP and cropped them using one of the Darling Dino dies
  • Thankfully, the Darling Dinos die set includes all the dies needed to crop these adorable images.
  • Because of the bulk of the card, I only used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere all the pieces and layers together
  • With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set

A Four-fer Card for Make My Monday # 248

Welcome to the newest Make My Monday bi-weekly challenge #248. Our host for this challenge, Heather, chose Make it Green for the theme. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!

Here’s my Darling Dino card:

Here’s Where the Four-fer Comes Together:

Obviously, the first challenge is Make My Monday!

The second challenge gave me the color combination of lime, blue, and green with the Color Throwdown challenge # 829.

#ctd829 & #colorthrowdown

The third challenge is the Double Trouble Challenge #187, “3-2-1 Recipe “SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing”

I have 3 balloons, 2 flowers, and one dinosaur. Here’s their challenge banner:

As I have done many times in the pas with fun folds, the fourth challenge is Creative Creases # 101

Isn’t it fabulous when the challenges all work together? Love it!

Measurements for This Z-Fold Card:

  • The Garden Green base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, scored at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches
  • Trim a piece of Balmy Blue 6 x 6 inch DSP (designer series paper) to 5-3/8 by 2 inches for the front flap
  • Trim another piece of Balmy Blue DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • At this point, I try to remember to punch a 1-inch circle of coordinating DSP for the envelope seal, then run it through my XYRON create-a-sticker
  • Trim a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock for the inside to 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches
  • You will need two pieces of Garden Green cardstock, each measuring 3-1/2 by 4-3/4 inches to use one on the outside and one on the inside
  • Next, trim two pieces of white cardstock to 3-3/8 inches by 4 inches
  • With careful planning, I was able to stamp all the pieces from the Darling Dino stamp set using one piece of white cardstock measuring 4-1/4 by 5-1/2 inches
  • I had scraps of Garden Green to use for the grass and Balmy Blue for the sentiment banner on the front

Stamping, Coloring, and Die-Cutting:

  • Using the cloud stamp from the Playing in the Rain stamp set, I added Balmy Blue clouds to the white cardstock for both the inside and outside of the card
  • Then, I used a blending brush and lightly added Balmy Blue ink to both pieces of white cardstock
    • The color is very subtle, but the result turned out much better than just using white
  • After stamping all the Darling Dino pieces using Momento Tuxedo Black ink, I cropped them with the coordinating dies
  • Do you recognize the Garden Green grass on the front of the card? If you guessed it’s from the Frozen Edges die set, good for you!
  • Using the grass stamp from the Dinos set, I stamped it using Garden Green ink on the front of the die cut grass piece
  • I used the splotchy stamp from the Dinos set and stamped it using Garden Green ink on white cardstock, then cropped the two pieces of the egg
    • I outlined the egg using a black Stamping Write maker so it would pop off the background
  • Next, I used black ink to stamp both the outside and inside sentiments
    • The sentiment I used for the inside is actually two stamps: Roar means/in dinosaur is the first stamp and You’re the Best is the second
    • You can see how I used these sentiments using other combinations here and here
  • I colored all the Darling Dino pieces using the Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, and Garden Green blends combos

Assembly:

  • Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces of the card together
  • After adhering the white cardstock pieces to each Garden Green piece of cardstock, I started layering all the other pieces
  • I started with the grass, then tucked the flowers in behind it
  • I did need to dry-fit the rest of the card pieces together before adhering them down
  • Once I figured out where the balloons would live, I drew black lines for the string down to the dino going down into the where the egg would be
  • The Garden Green balloon and the Granny Apple green balloon were adhered directly to the cardstock
  • Add a dimensional to the Balmy Blue balloon and adhere to the white cardstock
  • Adhere the splotched egg to the dinosaur, then add dimensionals to the combined pieces and adhere to the white cardstock
  • Add dimensionals to the cropped sentiment banner and add to the top of the white cardstock
  • I had the rock stamp already cropped out and decided to add another flower and the top of the egg to the inside corner of the white cardstock

With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Have a Peachy Day!

Sue

A Dino Darlings Birthday for the March Pals’ Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month’s theme is “Birthday Celebrations.” The Pals hope to inspire you with card ideas and paper craft creations using Stampin’ Up! products. Links to the participant’s blogs can be found at the end of each post to help you “hop” along!

Here’s my Darling Dinos Birthday Card:

I’m also going to be uploading this card into the current Creative Creases #101, where anything goes with a fun fold!

I used Gray Granite, Pool Party, and Lost Lagoon colors for this Dino card. The Gray Granite mats actually come from the Otterly Adorable DSP! The Riverside Irregular Pearls fit perfectly in the corner of each layer. This card was so much fun to create!

I found these directions on Pinterest, and it comes from Stamp with Deb. I used her project sheet, instead of the YouTube video, mainly because I could just work from her project sheet easier than the video.

Measurements:

Instead of listing all the measurements, I thought it might be easier to show pictures of my template:

Once I had all the pieces trimmed, the rest of the card fell into place easily! I’m very glad that I thought ahead regarding the template so I can add it to my template/fun fold mini-binder so I can easily make another card.

Stamping, Coloring, & Assembly:

  • All the images which needed to be colored are stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink
  • I used pretty Peacock ink to stamp the front, middle and the middle section of the back sentiment
    • The sentiment on the back panel is a perfectly wonderful combination of two stamps: the Gray Granite part is all on one stamp and leaves a blank space for the inside sentiment, which I stamped in Pretty Peacock
  • I used the Pool Party and Gray Granite blends combos to color all the Darling Dinos
    • By adding layers of color with either the light or dark blends, I was able to achieve the varing colors
  • I stamped the egg pieces in Gray Granite using the splotch stamp included in the set
  • Crop all the pieces using the Darling Dino die set
  • Because of the bulk of all the paper layers, I only used my favorite adhesive, multipurpose liquid glue
