Showcasing the 2024-2026 In Colors for the June Pals’ Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is the new 2024 – 2026 In Colors. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you.”hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I decided to create cards showcasing all the In Colors. Here are my cards:

I’ve lost my mojo for a few weeks now, so I used four of the sketches on page 22 of the 2024 – 2025 annual catalog for my cards. Once I picked out each sketch, the only decisions I had to make were regarding the colors and papers I would use. If you’ve lost your mojo, starting with these sketches might help you as well.

Here’s the sketches:

I used sketches 1, 2, 3, and 7 along the top row for today’s cards. I’ve already posted a card using the sketch #9, and you can find that post here.

Nature’s Sweetness with the AHSC # 572 & the PPC #565

Welcome back to Just Peachy Stamping! My husband is out-of-town, my dogs are acting like magnets, my sleep schedule is all out of whack, and I stayed up way too late last night. However, that means I had plenty of time to search for different card challenges, and I found the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 572. Earlier, I’d seen the Paper Craft Crew #565 Challenge, which is to Case the Catty, with a Twist. When I combined them together, this is the card I created.

Here’s my card:

Here are the AHSC and PPC banners that inspired my card:

Measurements:

  • The AHSC and the January – April 2024 mini-catalog page 40 were my inspirations.
  • The Pretty Peacock cardstock base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
  • The Nature’s Sweetness DSP background layer measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
  • Then, I trimmed another pattern from the DSP set to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
  • I cropped both octagon focal shapes using the Countryside Corners die.
  • Before I adhered the background layer, I punched a 1-inch circle through the center of the DSP for the envelope seal. Next, I ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker machine.
  • The white cardstock for the inside measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.

Assembly:

  • I used the Nature’s Sweetness DSP (designer series paper) which did all the work for me. I paired it with Pretty Peacock cardstock and used the largest and second largest Countryside Corners dies to crop the focal image and mat.
  • The outside sentiment comes from the soon to be retired Framed Florets stamp set. I cropped it using the second smallest Countryside Corners die and outlined it with my Pretty Peacock marker.
  • I needed to add some length to the sentiment banner to meet that part of the AHSC sketch. Therefore, I used a banner die from the Stylish Shapes die set, cut it in half, and then adhered it to the back of the sentiment piece.
  • I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the cardstock and DSP pieces together. There are dimensionals under the sentiment.
  • I used the “I made you a card because you’re worth it” sentiment from the Here’s a Card stamp set for the inside. It is stamped in Pretty Peacock.
  • After stamping the inside sentiment, I adhered the white cardstock to the inside.
  • With that, I’d finished my coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Have a Peachy Day!

CASe the Catty for the July Pals’ Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is CASE the Catalog. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Here’s my Rainy Day card from page 61 of the catalog:

I just love everything about this Playing in the Rain stamp set, die set, and coordinating rain embossing folder.  Absolutely everything.  When I was thumbing through the catalog, for probably the fiftieth time, I saw this card and couldn’t resist. Would you believe the DSP comes from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP?  I know!  I was surprised as well!

Measurements and Assembly:

  • Trim a piece of Boho Blue cardstock to 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches, and score at 4-1/4 inches.
  • Trim a piece of Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches.
  • Punch a 1-inch circle of coordinating DSP for the envelope seal. Run it through a XYRON create-a-sticker.
  • Trim a piece of this landscape DSP from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP to 5-1/4 by 4 inches.
  • Adhere the DSP to the cardstock base using multipurpose liquid glue
  • Stamp the adorable fox on white cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Use the Old Olive, Crumb Cake, and Pecan Pie blend combos to colors the fox. I also used one of the natural tone blends for the face and hands.
  • Outline the umbrella using the dark Daffodil Delight blend.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Boho Blue ink on white cardstock.
  • Trim and fussy cut the sentiment into a banner.
  • Crop the fox using the die set.
  • Crop the bridge (Crumb Cake) and the grass pieces (Old Olive) pieces.
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the fox. and bridge.
  • HINT: If you adhere grass pieces on either end of the front of the bridge using liquid glue, you will be able to hide the dimensionals.
  • Tie a bow using the Boho Blue In Color jute twine. Use a glue dot to adhere it to the back of the sentiment banner.
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the banner and adhere to the card.
  • Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside.
  • Stamp your sentiment using Boho Blue ink.
  • With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Leaves, Trees, or Autumn for the August InKing Royalty Blog Hop!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects feature leaves and trees, so you are likely to find lots of inspiration for Autumn. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

While flipping through the catalog looking for inspiration, I came across the three cards on page 71 for simplifying or stepping up the intricacy of cards.  My layout is different than the catalog, as is the stamp set I used.  However, the stepped up card inspired the background on my card.

I knew I wanted to use the Beauty of the Meadow DSP (designer series paper).  Florida doesn’t really have an autumn season, and I miss that dearly.  So, I thought I would use one of these gorgeous prints.

Here’s the first card I created:

Here’s the second card:

Measurements for the “GRATEFUL” card:

  • The Merry Merlot base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent card.
  • The white cardstock for the inside panel measures 5-1/4 inches by 4 inches.
  • I started with a 4-1/4 inches by 5-1/2 inches white panel for the front of the card. After I ran it through the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
  • The Beauty of the Earth DSP measures 2-7/8 inches by 3-7/8 inches on the front of the card. While I had the DSP out, I trimmed a piece to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
  • I trimmed the vellum cardstock to 2-3/4 inches by 3-3/4 inches.
  • All my stamping and cropping using the Forever Fern stamp set and the Forever Flourishing dies was done on white cardstock. I used the “GRATEFUL” sentiment from the Sparkle of the Season stamp set.

What I Did:

  • TIP: Any time you are using a 3D embossing folder for a background design, you will have much more success if you use the embossing folder before trimming the cardstock down to size. The 3D folders get such a deep emboss that your final measurements will be off if you trim it first.
  • There are three cropped flourishes adhered with multipurpose glue on top of the embossed background. I really liked the background double layer used in the cards on page 71 of the annual catalog and wanted to use it on these cards.
  • I used the piece of vellum over the DSP so the colors would be muted, allowing the cropped images to stand out. Dimensionals also helped them stand out from the DSP background.
  • I used three of the colors in the DSP for the stamping: Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Merry Merlot.
  • After stamping the greeting in Merry Merlot, I cropped it using a label die from the Harvest Die set. Then I used the Merry Merlot Stamping Write Marker to outline the label. A double layer of dimensionals under the sentiment were necessary since I had to take the raised stems/leaves into consideration.
  • I folded a length of the linen thread in half and tied a bunny ears bow. I used a glue dot to secure it to the Cinnamon Cider leaves.
  • Finally, I added three Bumblebee Decorative Matte Dots to the vellum. The double dots on the bottom right corner help to balance the weight of the leaves at the top. That triangle of dots keeps the viewer’s eyes traveling across the card.
