Here’s my card:
I’ve been sick since the middle of May and my husband has been the absolute best caregiver. I wanted to mail him a card (who doesn’t like getting mail?) and thought this sentiment and DSP (designer series paper) would be appropriate. I’m still working on getting my mojo back, so I used one of the design templates on page 22 of the current 2024 – 2025 annual catalog. The template I used is the last one on the top row. I’ve already posted other cards using these templates and you can find those posts here and here.
Measurements:
- The Pool Party base measures 8-1/2 by 11 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
- The black cardstock on the front measures 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
- The 4 pieces of DSP on the front started off measuring 3-7/8 by 5-1/8 inches.
- Trim the DSP vertically at 1-7/8 inches.
- Trim the bottom of the left-hand side of DSP horizontally 1-1/2 inches from the bottom.
- Trim the top of the right-hand side of DSP horizontally 1-1/2 inches from the top.
- You will need a piece of DSP measuring 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
- Punch a 1-inch circle from coordinating DSP and run it through the XYRON create-a-sticker to make the envelope seal.
- Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside of the card.
Assembly:
- Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together.
- Adhere the black cardstock to the front of the card.
- Dry-fit the DSP to make sure your patterns line up. Then, adhere the pieces to the black cardstock.
- Rub down a scrap piece of black cardstock using your embossing buddy.
- Using VersaMark ink, stamp your sentiment on the black cardstock, cover it with white embossing powder, and heat set it.
- Crop using one of the deckled rectangle dies.
- Crop a cloud using one of the Bright Side dies. It’s wonderful when the dies match up to cut out shapes in the DSP!
- Punch a hole in the sentiment block and thread ribbon through the hole and tie it off. Add a mini-glue dot behind the knot to hold it in place.
- Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and the cloud. Then, adhere it to the card.
- On the white cardstock for the inside, stamp the cloud and rain drops from the Bright Skies stamp set using Pool Party ink.
- Stamp your sentiment using Momento Tuxedo Black ink.
With that, you’ve finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
