Welcome to the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #290! Billie A. chose fun folds as the theme, which works perfectly for the Pals Fun Fold Hop. When you finish here, I hope you will go to the Cardz 4 Guyz site to see all the inspirational projects from the other design team members. In addition, please check out the fun fold cards from the other Pals.
Here’s my fun fold birthday card:
I’ve seen landscape easel cards with two stationary side panels. For this card, I knew I wanted to use the Biggest Wish stamp set so I needed to modify the layout a bit.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
Next, I cut the front part of the card at 1-1/2 inches up to the fold line.
That cut leaves a 2-3/4 inch wide panel for the sentiments. In order to be able to create the easel part of the card, I scored it in half at 2-3/4 inches. At this point I burnished the folds using my bone folder to have the easel fold easily.
The DSP I used is one of the many patterns found in the host DSP set Pattern Party. If you haven’t gotten this yet, it is well worth it. There’s 48 sheets of 12 x 12 inch DSP. Each sheet has a colorful pattern on one side and a black and white pattern on the reverse side. If you love black and white patterns, this DSP pack is definitely for you.
I also trimmed two pieces of the DSP to 2-5/8 inches square. I used the pieces on the back of the easel part of the card. The reverse of this pattern is a pink cheetah print, so covering it with the black and white DSP. I used the second piece on the back of the Night of Navy part of the easel.
Finally, I trimmed a piece of the DSP to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Both white cardstock panels measure 2-5/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. Since I needed a popped up tag to hold the easel in place, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock, which I then matted on a scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
Putting It Together:
I used multipurpose glue to adhere everything except the tag, which got popped up on dimensionals.
The Stamparatus was required for the repeated birthday sentiments on the front easel panel. The whole process was relatively easy using a hinge stamping method for the acrylic panel. Jackie Bolhuis’, of Klompenstampers, has a step-by-step video for hinge stamping, which you can find here.
First, I stamped five “HAPPY” words in Basic Gray.
Then I went back and stamped the “birthday” words in Night of Navy using the same hinge stamping method.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap and punched a 1 inch circle for the envelope seal.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and seal set.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This is a great time of year to build your stash of handmade birthday cards, so we are sharing birthday-themed projects with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Here’s my Artfully Layered birthday card:
This DSP (designer series paper) has quickly become one of my go-to set of papers. The colors are spectacular! Take a look:
I used two of the patterns for my blog hop birthday card.
The landscape layout of the card was inspired by the Sunday Stamps challenge, SSC276, sketch for this week.
Measurements:
The Old Olive base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
In order to stay in line with the sketch while adding texture, I added a layer of Old Olive cardstock. Since the Bark 3D embossing folder will leave such a deep imprint, I didn’t trim the cardstock to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches until after I embossed it.
Next, I trimmed two pieces of the DSP for the slanted pieces of the card. Each piece measures ————
While I had the DSP handy, I trimmed a piece to 6 inches by 2-1/2inches for the envelope flap.
The white cardstock panel on the inside measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I used a scrap piece of white cardstock for the sentiment tag.
Assembly:
After embossing the Old Olive layer, I popped it up on dimensionals and adhered it to the base.
Next, I placed each layer of DSP on opposite slants and adhered them with multipurpose glue.
Using the Biggest Wish stamp set, I stamped “happy” using Mango Melody and then “birthday” using Just Jade. Mango Melody is part of the background design on the DSP.
Then I cropped out the sentiment using the second largest die from the Tailor-Made die set.
Since there are Evening Evergreen leafy branches in the DSP, I used the Evening Evergreen open weave ribbon for the tag accessory.
The sentiment tag is popped up on dimensionals and then I adhered it to the front of the card.
Now, all I needed to do was stamp the sentiment on the inside and adhere it to the inside of the card using multipurpose glue.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap, punched the seal and ran it through the XYRON create-a-sticker. With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and seal set.

Welcome to another Cardz 4 Guyz challenge! Dawn chose “shades of blue” for the theme for #276. I hope you will pop over to the C4G blog to see what the rest of the design team created as well!
Here’s my card:
This card falls into the easy-peasy category when using the Stamparatus. I can’t imagine trying to do this card without that tool.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base of the card started out measuring 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
Next, I trimmed off 1-1/4 inches from the top, outside part of the card.
The white cardstock on the front measures 5-3/8 inches by 2-7/8 inches.
The white cardstock on the inside panel measures 4-1/8 inches by 5-3//8 inches.
The DSP panel for the inside of the card measures 4-1/8 inches by 1-1/2 inches.
I also trimmed a piece of the DSP to 6 inches by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap. Since I have a tendency to put the envelope DSP pieces away, I adhered it to the envelope flap as soon as I trimmed it down.
At the same time, I punched a 1 inch circle of coordinating DSP and ran it through my XYRON create-a-sticker machine for the envelope seal.
Stamparatus for the Win!
I used the Biggest Wish photopolymer stamp set from the annual catalog for the sentiment words.
First, I used a piece of printer paper trimmed to the same size as the white cardstock on the front. That way I could make sure that I wouldn’t wind up with half a sentiment. I could also make sure that I had almost the same white space at the top and bottom of the front of the card.
Using the second plate of the Stamparatus, I placed “happy” where I wanted it to be stamped, and tried it out on the copy paper. Success! On to the white cardstock!
I first stamped all the Balmy Blue “BIRTHDAY” sentiments going down the front of the white cardstock. To accomplish this, I simply moved the Stamparatus plate down one notch and restamped four more times.
Then, I stamped the Night of Navy “happy” using the same process of moving the plate down one notch after each stamping.
That’s it! The result looks so cool!
Finishing Up:
Next, I adhered the DSP panel to the right side of the white cardstock for the inside. At first, I thought I would have the stripes line up vertically. However, the vertical stripes with the horizontal lines of the sentiments did not look good at all together. Once I changed the stripes to horizontal. everything on the front of the card flowed nicely.
Since I adhered the DSP first, I was able to pick out a birthday sentiment that would fit on the remaining white panel. I chose “wishing you your BEST year yet” from the Best Year stamp set, also in the annual catalog. I used the Night of Navy ink pad for the inside sentiment.
That’s it. This card came together very quickly. It just might become my go-to card layout when I need something fast!
What’s New? Since you asked, it’s the DSP SALE! The sale ends on Monday, August 2nd.
