Hello, and welcome back for another Cardz 4 Guyz challenge. The theme for C4G #268 is Thanks/Thanksgiving. Since I am American, and because I still need a few Thanksgiving cards for next week, I went with that part of the theme.
Here’s my card:
I used a sketch from a recent challenge, but can not remember which challenge. However, I do remember that it closed before this post went live.
What I Did:
The base of the card is Early Espresso trimmed to 5-1/2 inches x 8-1/2 inches, scored at 4-1/4 inches.
I chose two patterns from the Gilded Autumn DSP for the larger two squares, which I cropped using the Stitched Rectangle square dies. There’s a very, very thin Early Espresso border around the largest gourd DSP. The middle square has a wider Cajun Craze border. The smallest square has a set of wider borders of Cajun Craze and Early Espresso. I stamped the sentiment, from the Autumn Greetings stamp set, before cropping out the Very Vanilla square. This sentiment just fit inside the smallest square, but the two borders makes this sentiment block a real focal point of the card.
Once I had my DSP patterns for the squares, I started the process of trying to find a background DSP in wood tones. I picked this one because it picks up the Early Espresso from the base and sentiments. It very subtly picks up the slight orange-y Cajun Craze color. I trimmed the background paper to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
After finishing the inside of the card, I adhered a piece of the wood tone DSP to the envelope flap. With that, I’d completed this card/envelope set. Another Thanksgiving card finished, about 6 more to go.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I’d love to hear what you think, and greatly appreciate every comment.

Again, thank you for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate your time.
The card for this challenge is actually the second one I created. The first one will be my card for the Pals Blog Hop on Wednesday, 11/11/2020.
Here’s my card:
Clean and Simply Elegant
The idea for this card just blasted it’s way into my head at an unexpected time. However, once I saw it in my head, I had to create it immediately! Start to finish, even with a couple of missteps, the card took me less than 30 minutes. This card could be easily reproduced, especially now that I have the first one completed.
Merry Merlot seemed to be perfect for the base of the card. I trimmed the cardstock to 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, and scored it at 5-1/2 inches to create a tent fold.
The brushed copper foil paper is gorgeous! I trimmed a piece to 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. Since I am all about saving paper, especially gorgeous foil papers, I cropped the center using one of the stitched rectangle dies so I could use it for the sentiment mat.
I needed two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock, each of which measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. One piece is for the top layer of the front, the other for the inside of the card.
Now for the Magic
My Stamp-aratus really is the star of the card. I used the large autumn floral stamp from the cling Autumn Greetings stamp set. Before I started stamping, I needed to reink the Versamark pad. I wanted to get it down the first time, even though I would easily be able to stamp the Versamark multiple times.
Thankfully, I remembered to use my embossing buddy before I stamped the Versamark. I lined up the dry stamp exactly where I needed it, stamped it liberally with Versamark, then stamped the cardstock. Next, I covered the image with copper embossing powder, then heat set it using my heat tool. Gorgeous!
Here’s a close-up of the heat-embossed image:
Then I cropped the cardstock using the largest die from the stitched rectangles die set to give it a finished look.
I now had my three layers for the front of the card. On to the sentiment.
I repeated the steps using the Versamark to stamp the sentiment on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. After heat setting the powder, I trimmed it again using the stitched rectangle dies. I also cropped a piece of Merry Merlot for the bottom mat of the sentiment.
Remember when I cropped the center out of the copper brushed foil paper. I trimmed half of it for the middle sentiment mat. Now, the card front and the sentiment mat were repeating.
I used dimensionals under the vanilla and the Merry Merlot cardstock. My favorite adhesive, the multipurpose liquid glue, made putting the rest of the card easy to put together.
After adhering a piece of the Merry Merlot 6″ x 6″ DSP to the envelope flap, I’d completed my card/envelope set .
Truly, a clean and simple elegant autumn card. I’m pleased.
