Welcome to the newest Make My Monday challenge starting today, June 17,2023. I’m a little late with this post, but I hope the card I created makes up for it! Our host for #205, Caz, chose an aperture card. I had to look up directions for an aperture card, but I found one I liked, and I hope you will as well.
I want to thank Henry Bacon for the wonderful update to my logo! Thank you for making my vision become a reality!
Here’s my Playing in the Rain card:

This card was basically done with leftovers. Leftover DSP so I had to be very careful since I didn’t have any other pieces, The leftover turtle, rabbit, and clouds that I’d previously cropped, and leftover Cajun Craze twine (no telling how long I’ve had that).
I used a video from a UK demonstrator, Amanda Charlesworth with Create with ScrimpingMommy
Her measurements call for 5-7/8 inches by 12 inches. For the U.S. medium envelopes, I simply trimmed the cardstock to 5-1/2 inches so the card would fit in a medium Basic White envelope, Then, I followed all the same scoring lines and directions. The finished card measures 4 by 5-1/2 inches. It certainly is a happy surprise for the lucky recipient!
Measurements for the U.S. :
- I started with a 5-1/2 by 12 inch cardstock.
- Both the inside and outside DSP panels measure 3-7/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
- I trimmed the white cardstock to 3-1/2 by 5-1/4 inches for the inside.
- I added dimensionals for all the outside elements, so the card will need 2 stamps for the post office.
- As always, I trimmed a piece of coordinating DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
- I also punched a 1-inch circle from another piece of DSP for the envelope seal.
- After running the seal through my XYRON create-a-sticker, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a Peachy Day!
