Kittens/Cats for the Alphabet, Paper Players, & Creative Creases Challenges
Welcome to my three-fer card! I was able to combine three challenges using this one card. I hope that my card inspires you to play along with one, two, or three of these challenges! I love playing along with card challenges! However, since I am on four design teams and participate in blog hops, I spent the month of July trying to get as far ahead as possible. Therefore, I am tickled (Flirty Flamingo) pink to be able to play along with these three.
First, here’s my card:
Second, here are the banners and links (click on the image) for the challenges:
I turned this sketch to a horizontal orientation for my card, which is totally acceptable.
Measurements:
- The Old Olive base measures 4-1/4 by 11 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-2/2 inches
- I used a piece of the Pecan Pie retired Gorgeous Gingham DSP (designer series paper) for the front of the card and each piece measures 4-1/8 by 2-5/8 inches
- Trim a piece of the same DSP to 3/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the inside stop piece
- Next, trim a piece of Old Olive 6 x 6 inch DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
- Punch a 1-inch circle from the remaining gingham DSP for the envelope seal and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker
- Trim a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches for the inside of the card
- I cropped the two circles on the front from the middle of an Old Olive and Pecan Pie cardstock, which will allow me to use each piece for a mat on another card
- The label and playful kitten on the front, the sentiments, and fish stamp all come from the By Your Side kit
- Take a look at this absolutely stinking adorable kit available now:
It was unorderable for quite a bit of time. As popular as this kit is, I’d suggest getting it ASAP to make sure you can use it as it comes, or to create alternate cards like I did.
Stamping & Assembly:
- Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere pieces together
- I used a black Stampin’ Write marker to outline the two deckled circle pieces on the front because I wanted them to pop off the card front
- Stamp the sentiments using Old Olive ink
- Stamp the fist using Pecan Pie ink
- Adhere the DSP pieces to the front of the card and the white cardstock to the inside
- Adhere the two deckled circles together
- After dry-fitting your playful kitten and the sentiment, add dimensionals to the back of each to adhere them to the circles
- Making sure to only add liquid glue to the bottom half of the Pecan Pie circle, adhere to the front of the card
- Add dimensionals to the gingham strip of DSP and adhere to the inside of the card about 1 inch from the top of the white cardstock
- Finally, I added a speckled epoxy dot to the sentiment banner on the front
- With that, I’d finished this very quick By Your Side card kit alternate card, envelope, and envelope seal
