Welcome to Cardz 4 Galz challenge #161. For this two-week challenge, Caz chose snow time as the theme. When you finish here, I hope you will hope over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team created.
I actually made two of the same easel card, one for my 4 year old great-niece and one her 18 month old brother. Here are my easel fun fold cards:
For the front of these cards, the DSP did all of the work. While this paper just retired at the end of the recent Sale-a-Bration, the stamp set is still available. As a matter of fact, the stamp set and coordinating penguin punch bundle went on the Last Chance list today. (The link for the stamp set will be in the “Supplies Used” section below.)
Measurements:
The cardstock base for each card started as 4-1/4 by 11 inches. Then, I scored each based at 5-1/2 inches and 2-3/4 inches. Make sure your burnish your two folds so it’s easier for the easel to stand up.
Each card has a DSP layer measuring 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
The top layer of DSP for the Fresh Fresia card measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches. I decided to trim the top layer of the Balmy Blue card to 3-3/4 inches by 4-3/4 inches. I think I like the Balmy Blue layers better.
Next, I trimmed down some DSP for the back of easel parts. (See below.) I started out trimming pieces for just the cardstock bottoms of the easel. However, the back of the DSP for each was showing, so I needed to cover that as well. Each piece for the top of the easel measures 4-1/4 by 2-3/4 inches. The pieces for the bottom part of the easel measure 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches.
Then, I trimmed 2 pieces of DSP for the respective envelopes. Each measures 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Finally, the white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 5-1/4 inches by 4 inches.
What I Did:
I was able to punch the penguins right out of the DSP. However, the punch will also line up with the standing penguin stamp in the set.
The penguins got popped up on dimensionals, then layered on the white and colored cardstock circles. I did have to trim the side of the circles in order to be able to fit the sentiment, also on dimensionals, on the front of the card.
For the inside, I used the snow bank curved line stamp on the bottom, then stamped the sliding penguin on the lowest part of the curve. Since the set is a photopolymer stamp set, lining up all the other color pieces happened very easily.
The only thing left to decide was to figure out what I could do to hold the easel part of the card up. I could’ve stamped and then fussy cut some presents from the stamp set. They’d then have to be popped up on dimensionals to hold the easel in place. Then, I thought of using dots, and it worked. The Balmy Blue card has the largest of the black matte dots. I used some of the coordinating Fresh Fresia pastel pearls for that easel. As long as I had burnished folds, the easel cards stand nicely.
AFter trimming the DSP on the envelopes, I punched out two 1-inch circles and ran them through the XYRON create-a-sticker for envelope seals.
TA-DA – two coordinated card/envelope/seal sets were complete.

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our blog hop theme is Sale-a-Bration! We hope you will be inspired by all the beautiful creations the Pals have made for you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I used the SAB owl stamp set (earn with a $50 purchase), a piece of window sheet, and the Dainty Flowers DSP (earn with a $50 purchase). I’ve made two twisted easel cards for you, both of which use the Dainty Flowers DSP.
Here are my twisted easel cards:
The above card turned out to be much more involved than. I originally planned. Therefore, I created a second card for you to see how just trimming and scoring the DSP and cardstock can turn these papers into a beautiful card. Honestly, the DSP does all the work.
Here’s my second card:
There are so many videos for creating a twisted easel card. The one I saw a few weeks ago incorporated a book binding side, which I really liked. I can’t for the life of me find the original video I watched, and I am sorry for that problem.
For simplicity purposes, I am including the measurements and directions for the second card on this post. I’ve already got all the pieces cut for two more twisted easel cards, so I will include in progress pictures for one of them.. Actually, you are getting a sneak preview of my Make My Monday Challenge design team card going live on Monday, 01/16/2023.http://mmmchallengeblog.blogspot.com/
Rich Razzelberry cardstock base trimmed to 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches.
Score the base along the long side at 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 inches.
Next, score the 4-1/2 by 4-1/4 inch rectangle diagonally as shown in the picture below:
Please note that this is the inside view.
Trim two pieces of DSP to 4-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches. Trim one of the pieces diagonally to use for the back of the standing easel. For the example card, this is the Old Olive piece of DSP.
Trim DSP to 7/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the bookbinding on the front.
Next, trim a piece of white cardstock for the inside to 4-1/8 by 4-3/8 inches.
Finally, trim a piece of DSP for the envelope flap to 6 by 2-1/2 inches.
Assembly:
Adhere the bookbinding piece on the inside of the card. The picture below shows the placement of the adhesive for both the bookbinding part and the white cardstock on the inside.
I wrapped a piece of Old Olive ribbon around the piece of DSP for the bookbinding section on the front of the card.
Adhere the bookbinding piece to the front using dimensionals to allow for the ribbon.
Adhere the triangle piece of DSP to the outside of the card as shown below:
Adhere the whole rectangle of DSP to the bottom triangle on the outside of the card as shown below:
Please note that you only put adhesive on the bottom portion of the triangle. The top half of the DSP should not be adhered.
Stamp the sentiment for the front and inside of the card. The front sentiment comes from the Framed Florets stamp set.
Crop the sentiments. For the front, I used one of the square dies from the Stylish Shapes die set. The inside sentiment was also cropped using the banners from the Stylish Shapes dies.
Add dimensionals on the reverse of the sentiments, especially needed for the inside sentiment.
Please note that the angle of the standing easel will depend on the placement of your inside sentiment.
TA-DAH! You’ve created a twisted easel fun fold card. This card will fit in a medium SU! envelope.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated twisted easel card, envelope, and envelope seal set.

Welcome to the Stampin’ UP! Demos’ September Fun Fold Blog Hop! That’s a mouthful, isn’t it? This group of demonstrators loves to create fun folds, and I can always find inspiration from the projects on this hop! This month I chose one of my favorite, and relatively simple, fun folds: an easel card.
After you finish here, I hope you will hop along with us by following the links down below. When you’ve created your own fun fold card, please upload it to the gallery at Creative Creases Challenge!
Since I need about 25 Thanksgiving cards, I’ve already made and posted a couple of them. You can find that blog post here.
Measurements:
The Pretty Peacock base measures 11 by 4-1/4 inches, scored at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2 inches.
After embossing a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using one of the Basics Embossing folder, I trimmed it to 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches.
TIP: If you loved and deeply miss the Subtle 3D embossing folder, this crosshatch folder is for you!
The Very Vanilla cardstock piece for the inside measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches.
I started with a piece of DSP measuring 3-3/4 by 4-1/2 inches.
Then, I trimmed it in half vertically so I had two pieces measuring 4-1/2 by 1-7/8 inches.
Next, I trimmed the right hand side in half horizontally so I had two pieces measuring 2-1/4 by 1-7/8 inches. In order to have these pieces match the challenge layout, I trimmed 1/16 from what would be the center of the DSP image.
I trimmed a piece of the Pretty Peacock and Copper Foil coordinating 12 x 12 inch specialty DSP to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap.
Finally, I punched a 1-inch circle from the Autumn DSP to make the envelope seal.
What I Did to Create this Easel Card:
Adhere the DSP to the embossed cardstock using multipurpose liquid glue.
Then, adhere the bottom half of the embossed cardstock to the bottom half of the card base using liquid glue.
After wiping down a piece of vellum with an embossing buddy, stamp the sentiment, from the Autumn Leaf stamp set, in Pretty Peacock ink.
Since the ink take a little bit of time to dry, you have enough time to cover the ink with clear embossing powder. Then heat set it using your heat tool.
HINT: Make sure you warm up your heat tool before trying to set the embossing powder on the vellum. If you are not careful, you will burn the vellum instead of heat setting the powder.
Crop the leaf using the Autumn Leaf dies from the coordinating 12x 12 inch specialty DSP.
I cropped two of the thin banner pieces from the same DSP to use as the stop for the easel.
Crop the veins for the leaf from Pretty Peacock cardstock and adhere to the leaf.
Add dimensionals to the back of the leaf and adhere to the front of the card.
Adhering vellum can be tricky because you don’t want whatever you use to show. For this card, I cut mini-dimensionals in half and placed one-half in each of the three outside corners. Since the top left-hand corner sits on top of the leaf, I just added a dot of liquid glue to adhere it down.
I slid a small length of copper ribbon under the vellum and adhered it with a glue dot.
The last step for the front of the easel was to add speckled dots to each corner to hide the adhesives used.
Finishing Up:
I stamped the sentiment and image on the inside piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, which is adhered to the base using liquid glue.
Finally, add your easel stops using dimensionals. If you want the card to sit steeply (like mine), adhere the stops closer to the top of the inside cardstock. The further down you place the easel stops, the more the angle of the easel will decrease.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal.
Back to the Demos’ Fun Fold Blog Hop:
Thank you for joining us today as we hop through a series of fun fold cards! I know you will find loads of inspiration from the rest of these very talented demos! When you finish here, please hop over to Tara Carpenter at Tara Beth Stamps. If you get lost along the way, the following list will help get you back on track.
Welcome to the Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #290! Billie A. chose fun folds as the theme, which works perfectly for the Pals Fun Fold Hop. When you finish here, I hope you will go to the Cardz 4 Guyz site to see all the inspirational projects from the other design team members. In addition, please check out the fun fold cards from the other Pals.
Here’s my fun fold birthday card:
I’ve seen landscape easel cards with two stationary side panels. For this card, I knew I wanted to use the Biggest Wish stamp set so I needed to modify the layout a bit.
Measurements:
The Night of Navy base measures 4-1/4 inches by 11 inches, scored at 5-1/2 inches.
Next, I cut the front part of the card at 1-1/2 inches up to the fold line.
That cut leaves a 2-3/4 inch wide panel for the sentiments. In order to be able to create the easel part of the card, I scored it in half at 2-3/4 inches. At this point I burnished the folds using my bone folder to have the easel fold easily.
The DSP I used is one of the many patterns found in the host DSP set Pattern Party. If you haven’t gotten this yet, it is well worth it. There’s 48 sheets of 12 x 12 inch DSP. Each sheet has a colorful pattern on one side and a black and white pattern on the reverse side. If you love black and white patterns, this DSP pack is definitely for you.
I also trimmed two pieces of the DSP to 2-5/8 inches square. I used the pieces on the back of the easel part of the card. The reverse of this pattern is a pink cheetah print, so covering it with the black and white DSP. I used the second piece on the back of the Night of Navy part of the easel.
Finally, I trimmed a piece of the DSP to 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches.
Both white cardstock panels measure 2-5/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. Since I needed a popped up tag to hold the easel in place, I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock, which I then matted on a scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock.
Putting It Together:
I used multipurpose glue to adhere everything except the tag, which got popped up on dimensionals.
The Stamparatus was required for the repeated birthday sentiments on the front easel panel. The whole process was relatively easy using a hinge stamping method for the acrylic panel. Jackie Bolhuis’, of Klompenstampers, has a step-by-step video for hinge stamping, which you can find here.
First, I stamped five “HAPPY” words in Basic Gray.
Then I went back and stamped the “birthday” words in Night of Navy using the same hinge stamping method.
Finally, I trimmed the DSP on the envelope flap and punched a 1 inch circle for the envelope seal.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and seal set.

Again, thank you for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate your comments and your time.
This month, the theme is “CASE the Catalog” so the Design Team chose a card from the new Annual Catalog and has CASEd it with their own creative twist. We really hope that you are inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I chose a card using the Sun Prints suite featured on page 90 of the catalog. I CASE’d my chosen card with just one small exception. Then, I went back and changed it just a bit more to make it an easel card. I just love to create fun folds!
Here’s the original CASE and the easel fun fold:
The changes I made to the original CASE were minimal. I added a white cardstock mat under the DSP. For the easel card, I moved the leave spray on top of the DSP strips instead of underneath them. These colors are so incredibly gorgeous! I just love the Starry Sky color, and Gray Granite is stunning in this DSP.
Measurements:
The measurements for the front of the cards are the same. Since there’s a bit more to the easel card, I’ll go with those measurements and such.
The Night of Navy base measures 8-1/2 by 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4 and 2-1/8 inches creating a landscape card orientation.
Both the white mat on the front and the white cardstock on the inside measure 4-1/8 inches by 5-3/8 inches. I usually use 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches for the inside panel, but I wanted the sizes to be the same on the front and inside because of the easel.
The Sun Prints DSP pattern for the background measures 4 inches by 5-1/4 inches.
I trimmed down a coordinating piece of DSP for the envelope flap to 6 by 2-1/2 inches. At the same time, I punched a 1 inch circle of the Gray Granite DSP for the envelope seal.
After I dry embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Fern 3D embossing folder, I trimmed it down. I needed two pieces measuring 4-3/4 by 1-1/2 inches.
REMEMBER: if you trim your paper before using any 3D embossing folder, you will wind up with a piece that’s smaller than you wanted because of the deep impression.
The Starry Sky DSP pattern paper measures 4 inches by 1-3/8 inches.
What I Did:
Using the Nature Prints stamp set, I stamped the spray of leaves in Starry Night in the same ink on white cardstock. In addition, I stamped partial leave sprays on the inside white cardstock and on the front of the envelope.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink on Gray Granite cardstock.
Then, I colored the basic pearl jewels I needed using the dark Daffodil Delight marker. It’s important to let the mutual layers of ink completely dry before adding another layer. I used 4 or 5 layers of ink on these pearl jewels.
This card features a die from the Nature’s Prints dies to crop the Starry Sky spray. I added dimensionals underneath the spray.
The new Stylish Shapes dies are fabulous, especially if you loved the now retired Stitched Shapes die set. I used one of the circles to perfectly crop the sentiment. There are dimensionals under the sentiment circle. I did have to make sure to add them only where the circle doesn’t touch the spray of leaves.
Figuring out what to use to hold the folded easel card open took some creative thought time. I finally decided to punch a 1 inch circle from coordinating DSP. I trimmed this circle in half and added mini-dimensionals under each semi-circle and attached them to the inside panel.
For good measure, I added two smaller colored basic pearl jewels to help hold up the easel.
If I didn’t put dimensionals under an element, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere it together.
With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set.
Here are just a few of my favorite new things, and about half of which arrived Monday! I’ve already been playing with my new goodies. I’m also working on a pre-order from the upcoming July – December mini-catalog. Fun times!!
