Welcome to the newest Make My Monday bi-weekly challenge #234. I’m hosting this challenge and the theme is National Teddy Bear Day. When you finish here, please visit the challenge site to see what the rest of the very talented design team members created. Then, don’t forget to upload your creations to our gallery. We look forward to seeing your creations there!

Here’s my card:

I created this card, along with many others, over my summer break, and just realized that I’ve used the same sentiment stamp set and the exposed brick embossing folder as this card.

Measurements:

  • The Cajun Craze base measures 5-1/2 by 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4 to create a tent fold
  • Trim a piece of Crumb Cake to 5-3/8 by 4-1/8 inches for the mat
  • After you emboss a piece of Cajun Craze using the exposed brick embossing folder, trim it to 4 by 5-1/4 inches
  • I used a scrap piece of white cardstock to stamp the bear
  • Crop a piece of white cardstock using one of the Countryside Corners dies
  • Trim a piece of 6 x 6 inch Cajun Craze DSP (designer series paper) to 6 by 2-1/2 inches for the envelope flap
  • Punch a 1-inch circle of the DSP and run it through your XYRON create-a-sticker to create the envelope seal
  • The white cardstock for the inside of the card measures 4 by 5-1/4 inches

Stamping, Coloring & Assembly:

  • Unless otherwise noted, I used multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the pieces together
  • Stamp the bear using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and color it using the Smoky Slate blends combo set
  • Color the honey pot with the Cajun Craze blends combo
  • Color the honey using the Daffodil Delight dark blend
  • Stamp the block font THANKS using Crumb Cake ink
  • Stamp the cursive thanks using Cajun Craze ink
  • Stamp some honey bees randomly on the white sentiment panel using Tuxedo Black ink
  • Wrap some baker’s twine around the sentiment panel three times, adhering the ends to the back of the panel using tear & tape
  • Add dimensionals to the back of the sentiment panel and adhere it to the embossed Cajun Craze layer
  • Use dimensionals on the left side of the bear and multipurpose liquid glue on the right side to adhere it to the sentiment panel
  • Adhere the bear & sentiment panel to the embossed Cajun Craze layer
  • Adhere the Cajun Craze layer to the Crumb Cake layer
  • Adhere the Crumb Cake layer to the front of the base of the card
  • I left the inside blank until I know who will be receiving the card and for what reason
  • With that, I’d finished this coordinated card, envelope, and envelope seal set
